Über: Kodex is an advanced code editor which brings powerful and desktop-class editor
features to your iPad or iPhone:
* Multi-caret editing, to quickly transform
code selections.
* Regex search and replace, with template matching and
replace-all-matches.
You can launch Kodex QuickEdit from any file sharing view in any app to edit its contents without launching the main Kodex App (be aware this functionality depends on the host app implementing the sharing activity properly).
Font size and line spacing are adjustable, so you can configure Kodex to best fit your preferred screen size, arrangement, and orientation.
Kodex is currently optimized for external keyboards, such as Apple's Smart Keyboard for the iPad Pro, or any bluetooth/USB keyboard.
* Kodex smartly preserves your open documents so that your work stays as you left it between launches.
Kodex is integrated with the Files app, so you can easily open files from any other app, and from your iCloud documents folder.
Included are 10 editor themes, and several monospaced fonts for code editing (you can install your own preferred fonts using system profiles).
Think of Kodex as a NotePad++ or Sublime Text substitute for iPhone and iPad.
Kodex is not a compiler, and you can not build or run the code you edit from it.
* Customizable key bindings, so you can configure Kodex to use the same key combos you are already used to.
* Configurable tab size (default 4 spaces), or insert spaces when pressing tab.
* Multi-caret editing, to quickly transform code selections.

* Draw hints for invisible characters such as new lines, tabs, and spaces.

Der Editor macht einen guten ersten Eindruck. Erscheint sehr aufgeräumt und übersichtlich! Bringt zudem verschiedene Themes mit.

Ich muss sagen das Kodex sehr gut ist und auch gratis ist sonst muss man etwa 20€ usw im Monat bezahlen ich kann sie nur weiter empfehlen und sie macht auch sehr sehr Spaß habe einmal 3 Stunden daran gesessen ich kann es nur weiter empfehlen

Keine speichern Schaltfläche, nur beim schließen wird gefragt ob gespeichert werden soll. Ich wollte auf GDrive speichern, dann kam „error couldn‘t not save“ und das Dokument war auch weg.

Aber wieso hat Kodex einfach ungefragt Zugriff auf meine iCloud-Dokumente!? Und wieso kann ich das nicht selbst verwalten!?

Verbuggt ohne Ende. Einmal konnte ich eine Datei einfach nicht abspeichern. Nach mehreren Neustarts Kodex klappte es dann. Außerdem erscheint des öfteren die Tastatur einfach nicht. Weg damit - zum Glück habe ich nichts dafür bezahlt.

Verändert leider ungefragt Dateiendungen.
Konkret wurde eine .fasta und .fastaq geöffnet und vom Programm ungefragt als .txt gespeichert.

I‘m using it to prototype ideas in C# and it‘s great. I would really wish that line breaks in multi-line comments would not mess up, though. Else it‘s perfect.

The App even supported multi line editing before Apple did with Xcode! It is really a great tool for the iPad

Perfect!!!
One small problem that exists is that it is not really possible to edit every file even though the options for this is switched on. Files without extension are for example not editable even though very important in Linux-based OSes.

Well designed, very intuitive and pleasant to use.
The potential for enhancement is enormous. One suggestion:
- Integration of snippet management either own or third party — e.g. Emmet and TextExpander.

Awesome free code editor. Git integration would be even nicer, but I hope we’ll get that in the future. *wink wink*
The themes are beautifully designed and the integration with the file system works remarkably well. Code completion for HTML is a great addition, and I hope to see Swift to be added too soon. Syntax coloring looks great. There’s really nothing I can complain about here. Great work!!!

I like the idea to have my iPhone/iPad being able to edit code. But please integrate Git remote repositories. Otherwise it’s impossible to use for a lot of people out there.
