This WAS a really good app, but now don't bother with it if you can only run ios5. The app updatw is for ios6 only and constantly and infuriatingly tells you to update, even though you can't. I have complained to the BBC to turn that off several tomes, but never received any response. The constant banner reminder makes the app unusable.

Great app, always come here first for sports news and results but recently it isn’t refreshing and constantly freezes and takes an age to refresh.

... But a pity you decide to make the app incompatible with old iOS.
I have an iPad 3, it works very well, I use it every Day, and its last possible operating system is iOS 9.3.5.
Suddenly, BBC Sports app stops updating the information inside the app, with a message that I must update BBC Sport app, while the updated app requires iOS 10 and my old iPad cannot support it.
It is a planned obsolescence issue, planned by BBC against users. It's a shame.

This site is always so slow at bringing us news, often 24 hours after the event. It needs to report the news as fast as, say, the Guardian.

BBC Sport is the best App for International sports coverage in English. Their documentation for European football and Formula 1 racing is top notch.
