Warpforge, the spiritual successor of Horus Heresy Legions is a mess. The sad part about this is that it is intentionally messy and unbalanced to milk the consumer as much as possible and that behind all of this scummy marketing techniques, there actually could be a fun and entertaining game with a great community. Buuuut, as I already stated, is that just not the primary reason for why this game was created in the first place. Warpforge has several different factionsof which all of them have there small progression tracks. They all have some more or less unique special abilities which make them, at least in theory, more or less distinct from another. In practice however, all these different factions don't really matter. Most of the time, the game just comes down to "whoever has the most or rather the most busted legendary cards in their hand/deck wins". And remember those progression tracks I previously mentioned? Oh yeah, to unlock the "premium" version of those, you have to spend over 10€ per faction you want to unlock them for. The progression in general is for anyone who doesn't want to spend tons of money for their digital cards collection a real drag. If you have fortunas luck and play every day for multiple hours, you can expect about one legendary per month. Any duplicate actually costs you in game currency for exchange for "forge points" (which don't really help your progression that much). Because of the already, exorbitant length of this review, I will spare you of the scummy way multiple currencies got implemented or the inbox only informing you of sales for in game purchases, in hopes of just getting another ten bucks out of your pockets. In conclusion, the game just wasn't designed towards player satisfaction, but rather, in order to get as much money as possible in exchange for as little work as possible and thus, sadly, it just follows the trend of a lot of games of this age.
