This app has one major defect, which sadly overrides all the nice things about it: it always loses my place. Anytime I switch away from the app while I’m middle of an article, there’s a very good chance that, upon return, I’ll discover that I’m no longer looking at the article I was reading. It’s not just that the spot in the article is lost, it’s the whole article. That’s especially frustrating if I got to the article through links in other articles, because I may have little idea what the title was. Being forced to search for an article whose title I may not know, and then locate where I left off, is such a pain that sometimes I never manage to do it.

I pay for a subscription. I’m happy this app exists. But I really wish someone would fix this berry basic problem. It kind of stops the app from fulfilling its primary purpose.

Great articles but PLEASE add a search bar like on the website! It’s so important!!

I love the design of the app and the quality of your articeles. But what is an essential part for usability of an app that is designed for 'reading wherever you want' is missing: a sync feature. It’s simply beyond my understanding why I should not be able to read an article on my iPad that I have saved when it popped up as a notification on my iPhone. I prefer reading on a bigger screen. And syncing articles across devices, since I am logged in with my account there anyway shouldn’t be an issue in 2021.

This app is not only very well designed, but a real pleasure to open daily. The 'Today' selection is always presented in a thoughtful, timely and concise manner.

Plus, being greeted with "Still awake?" when opening the app at 3am on a sleepless night is one the things that make the whole experience warm and pleasant.

The content is great but I cannot for the life of my understand why there is no article search. I frequently see articles linked on social media on my phone that I want to read in the app and the lack of a search function makes it impossible to find them, rendering the app essentially useless to me. Hope they make this easy fix soon.

Don‘t want to miss the Atlantic as one of my regular sources of information about what‘s going on in the US.
Goes well with the New Yorker, New York Times and New York Magazine to give a rounded picture.

The functionality is not quite there. Why is there no article (or author, or keyword, or even full text) search? Why are the bookmarks not synchronized between devices?
The content is great though.

The app looks and feels nice, but why is there no search functionality?! I frequently like to re-read an old article I remember by name, or read an article suggested by someone else. This is basically impossible with this app.

For a non subscriber with an iPad a practical way to purchase an read on the way an issue.

At my first try, the program crashed continuously. With assistance of The Atlantic team, the problem was easily solved. Good service!

This app is an affront to the top-notch journalism trapped somewhere inside it. I subscribed to the digital edition on my iPad, but get error messages every time I try to activate it on my iPhone. If only the reading experience on my iPad made up for this. You guessed it: It doesn't! It's basically a prettified PDF, whose biggest phobia appears to be multitasking: checking notifications, for instance, catapults you to the top of the article you were reading, sending you on an unwanted excursion to locate the last words. The two stars are for the journalism, which remains some of the best money can buy.

As a long-time subscriber to the print edition I was hoping to be able to read The Atlantic on my iPad. I had expected some sort of a subscriber log-in. Nothing, unfortunately. Only a newsstand-like display of editions to purchase. But I don't want to pay again for something I already have a print version of. A little extra for the interactive, digital features - o.k. But not the full price.

The description says that subscribers to the print edition can access the magazine articles, yet there is no way to do this. There is no information on the website that describes how to do this either.

And the "dancing nonsense" ads make it impossible to read the content.

A total waste of time, so unlike the Atlantic.

I like The Atlantic, been reading it for years. The app is easy to navigate, no issue with that. Today I was appalled to read a huge error. Won't go into it, but I am near the event reported. And it is an egrigous mistake. Shattered my confidence in The Atlantic. Will cancel my subscription.

What a bad programmed app!
