Die Zukunft der Zeitschrift
Was hier die Redaktion vom WIRED Magazine abfeuert ist der absolute Wahnsinn!!! Meine Prognose zu den ganzen eBook Readern war: es wird sich nur dann etablieren wenn es einen Mehrwert gibt. PDF und epub stellen keinen echten Mehrwert da (für Bücher noch akzeptabel - für Zeitschriften ein absolutes no go). Und jetzt ist das iPad frisch auf dem Markt und es kommt schon dieser Hammer. Wenn man jetzt eine Printausgabe auf dem Tisch liegen sieht wünscht man sich förmlich diese Art der Aufmachung. Also nur weiter so!!!

Der Goldstandard
Die App ist im Moment der Goldstandard für Magazin-Anwendungen. Die Möglichkeiten des iPad werden sehr gut ausgenutzt. Auch die Navigation gefällt. Ein interaktives Magazin mit eingebetteten Videos und anderen Gimmicks. Da können sich andere eine Scheibe abschneiden. Die Probleme beim Herunterladen der Juni-Ausgabe kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Ging bei mir reibungslos. Dauerte lange wegen meiner langsamen DSL-Verbindung, aber dafür kann Wired ja nichts.

Gelungener Einstand
Was lange währt wird endlich gut - so könnte man die Wired-iPad-App beschreiben. Trotz Gängelung durch Apple (SDK Abschnitt 3.3.1) ist das e-Mag endlich verfügbar. Wenn sich demnächst die Abo-Preise jetzt noch an den bisherigen US-Papierausgaben orientieren ($10/Jahr) dann bin ich auch weiterhin dabei!
