Perfekt
Ich hatte alle Apps abonniert die man im Bereich der VFR Fliegerei so kennt. Garmin ist jedoch die einzige die sich wirklich sinnvoll weiter entwickelt. Auch die Möglichkeit das ganze unter IFR zu nutzen ist natürlich hervorragend.
Man hat hier ein All-In-One Paket das einem wirklich alles bietet und das in ultimativer Qualität.
Preis-Leistung ist absolut perfekt und angemessen.

Grundsatzsetup mit 12.1.1 nicht zu nutzen
Ich habe ein neues IOS auf meinen iPhone und iPad installiert.
Ergebnis, ich komme nicht zu der Anmeldung , da ist ein Overlay welches das ganze blockiert

Perfekt für IFR Piloten mit Garmin Ausrüstung
Wer z.B. ohnehin mit G1000 oder GTN750 unterwegs ist, fühlt sich hier intuitiv zu Hause. Im Gegensatz zum Konkurrenzprodukt ist hier alles klar und sauber. Es wird auf einfache Bedienung geachtet. Weiter so!

Auch 9.1.4 stürzt weiterhin ab beim starten, sowohl am iPad als auch am iphone. Autoroute findet in Europa von/nach Süddeutschland bisher keine Strecken, spätestens beim Cfmu Check ist Schluss. Mehr Stabilität wäre schön!

Bis zum Update auf 10.0 5*, jetzt Schrott
Mit der Neugestaltung des Routenplaners in der Version 10.0 wurde die Umrechnung von Einheiten im Hintergrund mächtig geschlampt, die Flugzeiten und Spritberechnungen sind absolut inkorrekt. Für eine Flugplanung in metrischen Einheiten nicht mehr zu gebrauchen. Eine schnelle Bearbeitung des Supporttickets (schon Wochen alt) scheint auch nicht zu erfolgen.

Still missing: takeoff cdistance calculation, graphical notam-depictioneinzige iOS Planungssoftware, mit der man VFR UND IFR planen/fliegen kann.
Verbesserungsfähig wären:
- Darstellung von Lufträumen
- Graphische Darstellung von Enroute-Notams
- Wetterkarten für Europa unter FL100.
- Kompatibilität mit externen Nicht-Garmingerätwn, zB AVIDYNE 440 oder ext. AHRS-Geräten

Pilot funktioniert nicht mehr
Stehe heute in Zadar Kroatien und nichts geht mehr im garmin pilot. Hatte den Flugplan bereits in Tivat gefilled und stand dann da wie ein Idiot.
Garmin support meinte dann ich müsste mein ipad und GarminPilot aktualisieren. Bravo jetzt geht noch weniger.
Einfach unglaublich, für so etwas zahlt man viel Geld

Die Version hat meinen Jeppesen Login zerstört.
Ausserdem sind die Flugpläne alle verschwunden.

Great tool
Flying mainly in US and somewhat in Germany. US part is affordable and great, VFR and IFR! Thanks for the CAP grids and the Open Street Map integration. Helps saving lives!
Germany software too expensive! And data incomplete. But flying in Germany is deliberately made difficult vs in US where pilots are supported at max to stay safe-no matter what size the airframe.
Great application and software. Would like to see timezone conversions. Too many timezones and always entering the right converted time in z leads to mistakes.
Also would like to have the identifyer letter with the METAR. I see the data but still have to tune into ATIS to get the letter ...
Like staying in the Garmin mode of thinking which is in line with the airplane mounted GPSs in functionality and philosophy.

Ok for IFR, unusable for VFR in Europe
Lacking too many essential features for VFR, e.g. NOTAMS on the chart, showing reliably airspaces, providing information about opening times of VFR airports.
I use another App for VFR, which is unusable for IFR and Garmin Pilot for IFR. The upgrade with procedures with path terminators is a good step. Although it is a bit embarrassing not to be able to load approaches in my region, I thought Europe is not remote. What I like is the split screen which strangely no competitor provides.

best EFB one-stop solution for IFR
Flight Planning including mass & balance, performance, weather, autorouter, briefing pack. Very accurate and intuitive. Feels like GTN750. Perfect integration with Garmin avionics.

Great app, continuously improving!
Great all-in-one solution, previous shortcomings have been resolved: Eurocontrol plans are now manually editable and full AIP-VFR Germany is included. Will certainly renew my subscription!

Every update new bugs
Not reliable, more bugs per update than fixes. Not even documentation what they changed in an „update“, just „fixes“, wow. Garmin, be Professional! Domproper documentation what has been touched in a version. Finally, install a QA department, rather than using us as your testlab. You play with live‘s!

1. Preis: bei aircraftspruce wird GarminPilot. Für 78,- angeboten.
Als Pro mit safetaxe und Charts für 156,-
2. Anflugkarten und Platzrunden nur für die größeren Flugplätze.
Offenbar alles was nicht IFR anfliegbar ist, ist nicht vorhanden
3. Auch die beworbenen Zusatzinfos, wie Spritkosten usw. sind meist nicht in den Flugplatzinfos enthalten.
4. Die 3D Anzeige geht wohl nur mit einem externen Lagesensor.
Mit IPad usw. Ging es bei mir nicht.
5. ICAO Karte für Deutschland ist mit 110,-€ echt zu hoch.
6. SaveTaxi auch nur für die großen Plätze
Mein Fazit:
Dann lieber gleich die Jepessen App. mit ca. 350,-€ pro Jahr.
Da hat man dann aber wirklich alles.
Oder Airnav Pro. Bietet für die PPL Fliegerei mehr für weniger Geld.

Ios9 macht alles kaputt
das habt ihr ja super hinbekommen mit euren ios9. seid ios9 geht hier kein gamepad mehr da läuft alles nur noch in englisch. spiele die ich für geld gekauft habe aus dem store entfernt(The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Ghost Trick,Bioshock). für bioshock und monster hunter habe ich jeweils 15 euro bezahlt. apps kann man nicht mehr auf pc übertragen(absichern). verarschen kann ich mich auch selber danke apple da habt ihr eure kunden mal sauber verappled. capcom hätte monster hunter für google androiid geräte rausbringen sollen.

Hatte mich nach der Ankündigung im Fliegermagazin auf den Test gefreut. Leider ist mein momentanes Fazit: Unbrauchbar! Und das soll noch 179 EUR pro Jahr kosten...

Worldwide charts - but major restrictions
While beeing a foreflight user, i was more then happy to see garmin finally moving forward and provining charts for europe, the us and beyond!
Night vision and vfr/ifr mapview is great, you get a clear airspace picture. Even if you register the us base version, you get a worldwide fixes database! The synthetic 3d vision is working great. Syncing with D2 watch finally works (ipad >v2 required). The aspects above are not provided or less well done imho by foreflight to date.
However there are some annoyances and as a pilot u feel garmin is not willing to provide a 'too powerfull app', maybe to protect its hardware aviation products. Some evidence:
- its not possible to simply paste a copied flight path into the garmin fligh plan, each fix needs to be entered manually
-battery life of the g39 3d ads-b wx gps is half of what foreflights stratus2 offers and not sufficient for long xcountry flights
Garmin pilot is a good app - however foreflight is not as protective (and syncs with flightsims, so you can train handling and procedures on the ground). For us/canadian pilots i would still recommend foreflight over garmin pilot. For all others i' recommend to check your requirements before buying.
Final hint: Get this garmin app from the us istore, the german store charges much higher!

This product is awesome. It has everything you need. Easy to use and reliable. But there some tools I miss.
- Which frequency/station do I need to call when I got airborne? In Germany for example you call Langen Information (FIS) but I can't find the frequencies for that. You see that if you buy the add on ICAO charts accordingly.
- For flight plans you also need to give the the ETA for a specific entry into a new FIS region. But the FIS details are hidden in airspace details. You see those boundaries in ICAO charts, too.
- The traffic circuits in Germany i.e. are given in Airfield Manuals. You cannot see those lines in the worldwide data map. This feature would be great here.
- Extend safe taxi coverage also for small airfields would be an huge benefit.
- In flight profile: is there an option to change the planned altitude of my flight plan to avoid entering into airspaces I don't want to?
- Can I see the TOC and TOD anywhere?
- I want to print the NavLog if feasible.
With all of this above there is no other tool required to make a joyful flight happen. This product has a lot of remarkable features. Thank you Garmin.

Great App. Thank you for integrating TMZ, further improvement integrate notams in the Chart and improve airspace Warnings.This is still solved better in other Apps.. Some calculation tools would be also handy (e.g. Decend, crosswind, fuel calculations)
