Figgured I needed to update. A notification in App would be helpful!!
Great tool, but the battery drainage on iOS devices makes it unusable on an iPhone..
Die Idee ist super, aber die iOS Variante hat ein paar Show stopper:
- Massiver Akkuverbrauch (bis über 50%)
- VPN bleibt verbunden, auch wenn in Tailscale Schalter auf Stopp steht
- Interferenz mit DNS-over-TLS bei Nutzung von diese App DNS, benötigt Leerung des DNS cache im Anschluss
- Kein on-demand ala Wireguard
- Keine client-seitigen Einstellung für Routen und DNS
even if if not using tailnet my battery drains within a day. not ready for prime time.
iPhone 12pro. Batterie 45% Nutzung allein für diese App Hintergrundaktivität an EINEM Tag!!!
Lieber App-Anbieter, das ist viel zu viel. Wenn Sie bitte nachbessern würden. Der Batterieverbrauch muss sinken, dann sind Tailscale und das gesamte System, was dahintersteckt nämlich erstklassig.

I‘m able now to connect seamlessly with two home networks from my iPhone. Nevertheless, when diese App is active the whole day on the iPhone, its battery doesn‘t last as usual
Verwende aktuell zwei verschiedene Netze. Leider muss ich mich erst mit einem Verbinden um dann auf das andere umschalten zu können. Bis auf diesen kleinen Umstand, war die Einrichtung und Nutzung bisher ein Traum.
It is great to have an iOS client.
The widget should get more thorough testing however. Mine often shows connected even though I am not (but connected to another VPN of another provider) which makes the widget pointless if I always have to enter the settings once realized I am actually not connected.
Fix this and I will change to 5 stars.

To save some battery, I recommend using iOS built in shortcut automation (app open / app close). App works great!
Wir nutzen Tailscale seit Mai 2021 auf IPad und IPhone. Der Akkuverbrauch ist auf allen Geräten konstant so, wie er auch ohne diese App ist. Funktion Top und dazu noch ohne viel Einrichtung schnell installiert.

diese App ist eine meine besten Erfahrungen mit VPNs. Es funktioniert einfach und ohne viel Hickhack. Es läuft im Hintergrund, alle Geräte sind miteinander verbunden und mit MagicDNS sind alle einfach und ohne ip Adressen erreichbar. Einfach den Name des Computers nehmen. Es ist schlau genug nur zu Routen wenn nötig. Eine tolle Nutzererfahrung.
Very easy set-up. Very fast (based on WireGuard). Simply works, no matter what network (type) you need to tunnel. IPv4/ipv6 -> no problem. UDP blocked -> no problem. DPI -> no problem.
Highly recommended for everyone who wants an easy secure connection between devices, e.g. the home network (e.g. with raspberry pi) or an exit node.
It just works 👍👍👍 It would be AMAZING if you could add support for Apple‘s Shortcuts App so that you can enable or disable the tunnel using a shortcut. (Then you could trigger diese App to - for example - connect automatically when leaving home (or however you want to program it on the Apple Shortcuts app)) (About the battery thing other people mentioned here: I haven‘t used the tunnel on the phone for a longer period of time yet, so at the moment I can‘t say anything regarding this topic.)

Einfach einzurichten und läuft stabil. Perfekt, wenn man nur DS-Lite hat. Hat aber leider hohen Energieverbrauch (30%)
Feels like since my last update the battery does not drain as much.
Now I can leave it on at all times.
