The character models look pretty cool, they’re basically the classic Disney characters you know and love, but made to look combat ready. So the design team did a good job here and I would love to see all the new characters.
The game is also quite generous with heroes, so you have a good chance to get a few that you like early in the game and the lack of a traditional tier system, with some heroes being inherently trash, is also great. So if you like a hero, you can use them without fearing that they might be weaker than the rest.
Apart from that… a run of the mill gacha game, like all the others. No gameplay innovation whatsoever, apart from maybe the very rudimentary action gameplay, that I find quite fiddly, to be honest.
And one thing I hate: The game is just too "difficult", in the sense that the recommended team power usually isn’t enough to beat a level, at least for me. Other games tend to let you somewhat easily win even supposedly slightly more difficult challenges, just so you don’t feel like a POS. But this game is brutal about this and this really makes me enjoy it a lot less.
The cash shop… is your regular cash shop, but at least you can straight up buy some heroes for a hefty price, if you are so inclined. So at the very least, unlike Dyslite, they don’t 100% force you to buy hundreds of lootboxes to get the hero you want.
So yeah, good and bad, as such three stars. Worth a look, if only to see the hero designs.
