Coursera: Karrierewachstum Erfahrungen und Bewertung

Ich arbeite mittlerweile an meinem dritten Online Kurs auf diese App und glaube wirklich, dass Coursera mich noch langfristig weiter begleiten wird.
Nichts desto trotz habe ich zumindest auf meinem iPad eigentlich nur Probleme mit der Handhabung Coursera. Meine Kurse werden falsch angezeigt (z.B. vertauschte Titel), teilweise kann ich Aufgaben nicht erledigen, weil es einfach nicht lädt, und wenn ich etwas lesen muss, wechsle ich mittlerweile direkt auf meinen PC, weil der Text auf meinem iPad sowieso nie vollständig lädt.
Im Großen und Ganzen eine wunderbare Plattform, aber Coursera ist - es tut mir leid - wirklich schlecht. Hoffentlich kann man das noch ausbessern, damit ich mich nicht mehr so oft darüber ärgern muss.

Vorneweg: diese App ist super als Lernplattform. Auch Coursera erfüllt weitgehend ihren Zweck. Besonders toll ist die Möglichkeit, Videos herunterzuladen und offline zu kucken.

Probleme gibts es aber bei manchen Kursen mit den Quizzes , die innerhalb von Videos immer wieder auftauchen, besonders in Offlinebetrieb. Auch wird eine Unit nicht erkennbar als „gesehen“ markiert, wenn man sie offline angesehen hat.

Dies ist eine Bewertung Coursera und nicht der Plattform bzw. der Kurse.
Viele Inhalte sind in Coursera nicht verfügbar, besonders Assignments bzw. Peer Reviews. Es wird eine Fehlermeldung angezeigt und gesagt die Inhalte seien im mobilen Browser anzeigbar, bei Klick zum Browser passiert nichts.
Ich mache die Kurse auf englisch, doch Coursera ist halb übersetzt, aber leider sehr schlecht. Oft weiß man nicht wo man klicken soll, z.B. bei "anmelden" (= login) oder "anmelden" (= register) 😅, dann doch lieber komplett englisch.
2 Sterne für die Idee und Coursera an sich. Wäre toll, wenn es funktionieren würde 🙏

Kurs Wochen werden nur teilweise heruntergeladen, löschen geht nicht. Und selbst im Offline-Modus versucht Coursera Verbindung zum Server aufzubauen und wirft dann Fehler. Bitte verbessert mal Eure Tests, sowas muss doch auffallen.

… aber ich bekomme in Coursera eine Fehlermeldung, nach der anderen. Es nervt nur noch, bei mir konnte Coursera noch nicht einmal die Startseite laden??? Kurse suchen hat bestens funktioniert, aber das einschreiben in die selben Kurse, war dann wieder gefolgt von einer Fehlermeldung. Schade.
Installiert — Fünf Minuten verwendet, und nun wird Coursera schon wieder deinstalliert. Werde ihr nach ein paar Updates nochmal eine Chance geben, finde das Konzept wirklich gut, aber die Ausführung ist eher schlecht als recht!

diese App ist super am Laptop/MacBook aber in Coursera machen die Tests keinen Spaß.

Ich mache aktuell den Python Kurs und in Coursera werden die Testaufgaben nicht korrekt angezeigt. In der Aufgabe steht z.B. dass man die freien Felder ausfüllen soll, damit der Code läuft. Es fehlt aber das Codefeld und der Code. Das gleiche auch bei „Finde den Fehler im Code“, der Code ist aber nicht da. :(

Wenn das gefixt wird, gibt es mehr Sterne.

Ich mache bereits meinen zweiten online Kurs und liebe es. Leider werden meine Abgaben nicht bewertet, einige erledigte Aufgaben werden als unerledigt markiert und im Moment kann ich antworten auf fragen nicht abschicken.

Die heruntergeladenen Audios funktionieren nie und werden ständig verworfen. Daher kann ich Coursera nicht auf dem Arbeitsweg nutzen!

Bei mir hängt sich Coursera jedes Mal auf, wenn ich einen Kurs downloade. Iphone 6s mit aktuellem iOS✌🏽

2 Projekte getestet und bei beiden war die externe Lernplattform, welche zum Projekt benötigt wird, für mich nicht aufrufbar.

Erst wenn man den Kurs abonniert hat erfährt man in den Foren, dass der Kurs eigentlich nur in Nordamerika funktioniert 🙄.

diese App ist eine tolle Lernplatform. Coursera lässt aber wirklich zu wünschen übrig. Assignments funktionieren nicht - Kurse können nicht entfernt werden. Alles in allem ok zum “Lektion anschauen”, aber es macht einfach keinen Spass mit Coursera. diese App im Browser ist dagegen sehr zu empfehlen.

Coursera ist nicht intuitiv zu bedienen. Käufe im appstore werden nicht erkannt.

The platform itself is good, authority from famous universities teaching for just 50 bucks and with lots of excises, tutors answering question in 1 hr (and mostly they answer what I was asking).

But:

1. Videos takes ages to load.
2. Download button of the videos and the whole course doesn’t work now and then.
3. The note function is, for me, useless. And it’s set default open. The subtitles are invisible cuz they always overlapping on the note box and they are both white.

This forces students to use the platform on browser.
But:

1. The video player on Chrome doesn’t work good as well. Now and then all the buttons disappears both in full screen and in the small window in the browser.
2. The questionnaire that pops up every two pages on the left bottom side is Not Useful. How could you think clicking ‘Keep Learning’ or knowing a message that does very little motivation helps ppl to finish their course, if they are not motivated anyway? At least give us a check box to shut it down.

So I don’t know what the platform is thinking. Maybe so much money for socializing with the universities that not enough money for a programming team?

I enjoy using the app but one thing that annoys me the most is that I have to look for the week and content of the course I last visited. The app is stuck in old week which I purposely not finished and evey time I open the app I have to look for my actual current week/content I last visited. At least give us a setting option to configure our preference. In my view this is the one thing I really hate about the app. Otherwise it’s a good app.

The app seems to function well so far however there are some discrepancies with the web version of diese App. Namely the app says, the suggested pace for certain courses, mainly google professional certification courses, is extremely high, e.g 95 hours/week for data analytics course, 118 hours/week for UX design course, etc. That might stop some students out there from taking the courses in question since the pace “suggested by the app” is pretty much undoable.

The title says it all. Love the idea and had fun working with thhe content, WHEN, AND ONLY WHEN I had wifi. When I didn't, forget it. My downloads weren't shown, the course-page was broken, wifi as a kickstarter didn't work until the course-page was in shambles even when I had wifi. So I had to reinstall the app (its iOS 13 or something in 2020, not windows 98 ffs). I‘m trying to download and work offline again, but I‘m not hopeful, since it seems, from the reviews, that this problem has been around for a couple of years now.

The app basically allows doing the current courses: what videos, do quizzes, follow links to papers. Apart from that, much of the functionality from the diese App website is not available in the app.

In addition, the video playback does not have proper controls for skipping forward or backward a few seconds (neither via touch nor via keyboard). The videos also do not buffer properly before starting, causing the visuals and audio of the first few seconds to be really low-quality.

I recommend using the website instead.

By instance, when you download videos to watch them offline, you still need 3G connection to actually trigger the video already download.

So, great content, the classes are amazing but the mobile app can have tons off improvements.

Hitting this app with a one-star review is a harsh response, given that this review has nothing to do with its developers. But I need to warn prospective purchasers. I signed up for a subscription, was charged the money, and suddenly it wouldn't work. When I talked to their support, they told me that Apple had never given them the money and that I should subscribe through the website, which I did. But Apple refuses to refund me for the money that it has essentially stolen.

diese App does an excellent job in making high quality courses available to everyone. The app makes studying possible while commuting.

I fly a lot and often have no or very slow internet. Downloading courses I’m currently working on is a nightmare. It doesn’t work properly — it hangs, starts over when downloading another course parallel or both.

The courses at diese App are really wonderful and very professional. The app makes it easy to learn wherever I am:)

App in offline mode hangs on start up or takes a long time to load my courses. If it finally does, dies instantly. Seriously, these kind of problems have persisted for a long time now. The app is next to unusable in offline mode. I actually had to uninstall and reinstall it to make it work again. Can you believe that?

I have problems with this app on my iPad and iPhone all the time, e.g.
- it doesn't show my assignments correctly. Some of the them are missing in the app.
- App tells me I am not subscribed to a course allthough it shows me the content.

The course content itself is recommendable. Website version works fine.

Until this app is not able to handle offline content , only one star !! This is a mobile app , the idea is to use this app when I am on the train or plane , but without offline functionality this is useless , why is it to hard to offer this functionality in the right way ??
