The app seems very well designed, but 20€ a month or 129€ per year is just ridiculous for the benefits offered. Even with pro I only get a maximum um 3 habits to track? Why?

And if I stick to the free version, this is nothing more than a simple streak tracker available on the App Store in a better way for free.

Bad try to milk the people even more.

Sooo, since my first review never got posted I wanted to write a new one, but shorter.

I think the price is the main downside of this app. The app is a bit chaotic in my opinion, but gets the message across. The animations are pleasant.

There a gazillion other habit trackers, even better ones than this one and for a much more palatable price.

But this one has character, which I like. But this personality is not worth (to me at least) such a absurdly high pricepoint. Take for example „fabulous“. Great habit tracker, although with a completely different design language, but still science based and for 1/4 of the price. I really don’t understand the thought process behind diese App to be honest. They must’ve thought that „the fans“ or people with enough money will buy the app and they calculated that this will be enough profit.

Mind you im obviously a bit frustrated while writing this, but even with a clear mind you cannot argue that this is a fair value proposition.

I rather do a habit tracker in my BuJo and spare me the digital noise and give more meaning to my life than to buy a subscription for an overpriced tracker which suggest to add more simplicity to my life.

The design, habit creation, haptic looks clean, feels clean and is clean. But the primary goal is habit tracking, clicking on a button. For 20€ per month. And you can only add 3 habits. App development is one thing, pricing strategy another. I will come back if I can get it for 2 € per month.

First of all: This App looks & feels amazing. The „mindset“ section appears to offer a wide variety of useful information from the creator’s best-selling book atomic habits. Creating a habit is absolutely intuitive, and the rest of the app is simply beautiful.

However: The price is outrageous. Sure, developing Apps costs manpower, maintaining and updating them even more. I’m no friend of freemium-models and I’m absolutely okay with paying a decent amount of money for a good piece of software. But 19 € per Month or 129 per year for an app that’s, well, not really rocket science? I mean, come on, from a technical point of view this app is nothing more than an alarm clock providing statistics on how often it rings alongside a few curated lessons on how to not fail in life. This does not justify a price higher than what I‘m paying for a full-fledged office suite, for example.

The ui is really really good. But takes a lot of battery because it is so good. Price no comment. There isn‘t even a mac app or an Apple Watch app with widgets and offline mode. If they introduce all that I will be thinking about it

Only 3 habits to track, and that’s already the PRO version. Not worth it in my opinion.

I don’t really know, as in the mail it was told it’s a habit tracker, of course I compare it to others existing. So this app is more 0.1 than 1.0.
Recommendation: read the book and choose another tracker.
But the price… why not go for €40 per month? Or €80? *ironic mode off*

Love the idea and also loved the book it is based on.
Only being able to track 3 habits seems kind odd to me.
Pricing the app at the same cost as Netflix is also a bit strange in regards on what it offers as functionality. Especially as the app is not really usable without a subscription.

i really like the concept of atomic habits and the work james clear has put in so far.
the app succeeds in representing the book and its contents. sadly, the app is very overpriced. 129€ for one year of using an app that reminds you of your habits and throws in some life lessons is way too much. i would love to use the app if it will be available for less money, otherwise i will stick to my reminder app and read the book.

The subscription is definitely overprized. If this continues, I might actually put in the atomic habit to make a similar app and make the atomic habits wisdom more accessible. :)

It is well made and makes sure you do the habit development right. And it should for that price!
Comes cheaper to read James's book and get his Newsletter. The App includes everything he said, boiled down for short reads.

The app offers a great interface with great features and functionality. I’m actually very confident that it could offer an amazing platform for developing great Habits and help many people in need of such! Sadly the price ruins it, making it only available for people that have the 120€/year to spend on a fancy, digital notebook…

Very nicely designed app, not only to check off actions, but really to make a change and make them a habit.

The subscription price is much too high. Other apps (e.g. Streaks) have a one time fee below the monthly rate of diese App.

The app is fine. It's a nice companion to the brilliant book, but ridiculously overpriced. Some feedback: I think having that super slow logo animation every time you start the app adds more friction than necessary, kind of counteracting the "make it easy" rule. Also not a fan of that little popup screen for the Daily Lesson. There's no reason it can't take up more of the screen and you do use a better layout for the longer-form content, so maybe just use that.

Downloaded it immediately as I got the email and was super excited for it! The app is great, having many differences from your previous apps, like a habit counter in the James-Clear-way but also your progress with identity reflections and a 'mindset' tab in which you can check on daily short lessons.
The only negative thing I have to say is the pricing. As someone who is currently a student this is too much to pay for. And I also was a little bit sad that although I bought the book it did nothing (maybe a discount or even a free membership for pro) for my experience in the app.

Very sleek modern look and feel.

This method of creating habits works, I’ve been doing it for few years now. I do it all on paper though, people who are better with their phones will definitely find lots of value with this app.

Love the daily lessons as well.

Membership is pricey, yes, but one habit is free and starting and working on one habit at a time is enough for most beginners.

Suggestions:
-When you’ve read a daily lesson, or article, it be cool to receive a little mark stating that you’ve completed it.
-For your daily habit reminder, give the option to select more than just one time frame.

I follow James Clear’s work for a long time. Subscribed to his 3-2-1 newsletter and bought his book “atomic habits”. With this app you have James’ expertise in the field literally in your hand. The tracker (with the bubble and the vibration- phantastic idea) and the small pieces of wisdom everyday are highly motivating. Another great thing is that you are limited to three good habits to form (or abandon bad ones) at the same time. So you really have to stick to your guns till those habits are clearly formed and in your everyday life before moving to another one.

I love how specifically you have to set up your habits it’s really great also the daily lesson is great, but I already do consume a lot of „self help“ content and I feel like I am not able to use the full potential of what is offered.
I did use the app to create a habit around drawing everyday and it has worked amazingly! Logging the habit is so much fun

I read the book two years ago and loved the useful tips and exercises for building good habits and changing your identity. I was able to make big changes in my life. (Exercising daily, reading, meditating, etc.) But for the past 6 months or so, some of those habits have slipped away but now thanks to the app and the simple tracking mechanism, I'm looking forward to making even bigger and more lasting changes than ever before.

For example I want to anchor a habit (journaling) to when I use the bathroom in the morning. Because this doesn’t always happen at the same exact time, I am forced to create an arbitrary time of day to journal, meaning it is anchored to the clock (irrelevant), not my bodily cycle (relevant).

So now I will have a arbitrarily timed daily reminder that I could have done with the native calendar or reminders app.

With this structure, I have to work for the app, instead of the app working for me. I’ll still stick around for a while to see if this app has some hidden trick to make it stick. James is the GOAT of nonfiction.
