If I pause for a second on an article, i can’t scroll down anymore

A lot of functions missing. The app is US focused, does not take foreign readers into account.

Low quality and only a few sources. Most articles are old. Clickbait and ads.

Listen to interviews with the creator I was curious. So far this app only offers super mainstream sources (to me), paywalls and one dimensional interests. I had to block sources (New York post be gone) that popped up in my feed that I would never want to read. The only arts category offered to me was ‘celebrities’?!? At this point the (10 years old) recommendations tab from the ‘pocket’ app is a ten times more useful to me.

I understand the is App is in early development but I can’t fathom why you would think ‘celebrities’ is the best early show case. Even in the interview the founder said ‘you can follow news of your favorite obscure musicians’. Well, how?

Ich finde Artifact super und finde sie optisch wie inhaltlich sehr schön gemacht. Allerdings ist es sehr schade, dass sich das Angebot wie bei so vielen Apps leider nur auf den Englischen/amerikanischen Raum bezieht und keine anderen Quellen mit einbezogen werden. Auch eine andere Sprache kann man nicht einstellen. Würde mir wünschen das auch andere Quellen und Länder/Regionen an Artifact teilhaben könnten und auch der Feed auf z.B. deutsch nutzbar wäre.

1. Give us a choice what News pages we want to subscribe to.
2. Load articles in reader view automatically
3. Have summaries automatically populates at the top of the article
4. Being able to extend the summary it’s too brief or uninformative sometimes.

The comment system is game changing and they should really lean into that but the above points are key. You can search for your news outlet and websites however you cannot subscribe to them which is a shame. The constant ads on the individual websites being opened are unbearable! It is annoying having to select the summary and reader mode every time for every website.

Could you implement other languages too, e.g. German News or UK.

Came from Apollo (rip) and I am super happy with diese App. If you focus more on commenting tools it could be a really good alternative to Reddit for more people.

The founders of diese App, Kevin and Mike, have been my role models for about 8 years in the startup world. I‘ve learned so much from them, watched every video and read every blog post I could find. I‘m so happy they build a new startup together. The app works like a charm. Thanks and good luck! 🥳

When I read about this App on The Verge, I thought, sound cool, I’ll check it out. This has become the place where I get almost all of my news.
There are however, still improvements to be made. I’ll list my biggest issues.
#1: Links For You Feed: I have the feeling that the normal For You Feed really understands me, but the For You Links Feed doesn’t.
#2: Not being able to follow Publishers.
#3: I would like to further customize my For You Feed.

Love the app been enjoying it for the past few months.
But I’m still asking myself when are the widgets coming 🙋
