Updating my prior review as a lot happened.
The chat crashes seem to be fixed, so it’s no longer happening that a long conversation that built up a scenario is suddenly gone - thanks for that fix.
A new & great feature is that bot communication can be discarded for a new one or even edited if almost matching and both own and bot communication can be deleted if something has gone the wrong way. Thumbs up on that.
A downside is that it still happens that a bot suddenly responds something completely unrelated to the ongoing communication or even completely out of role. It would be great if this could be fixed at some point. With the “reload” for a new response it’s no longer that much a nuisance but still…
Another downside is, that pictures shared by the bot not always match the defined physical appearance and hardly ever the situation.
Wish list:
- better matching pictures, mainly on matching the bots defines physical appearance, ideally matching the situation as well.
- a search function in the chat with a bot (e.g. when wondering “where did the bot say they lived” or the other way round.
- dream wish: an automatically updating bio of the chat, both on the bot as well the user side. Ideally with editable content.
Original:
I must admit it can be fun to chat with those bots, and even short storylines work. But there are two big downsides: 1) The bots don’t make decisions. Whenever you ask them for their choice, it ends with them leaving the choice to you. Even when a bot comes up with “I have a surprise for you” - at the end it goes back to no surprise, as the bot does not tell about it or proceeds to it. 2) the bots don’t keep the prior storyline. They seem to learn some behaviour (how you treat them, how the relation between you and the bot is) but that’s it. For example you can sit together in a bar drinking, suddenly the bot sits down on the “couch in the living room”. Expecting decision-making might be a bit much, but it it would be doable at least based on prior communication. Not remembering the timeline is a no-go. It can be fun and I enjoy it. But don’t expect too much, at least not in the current version.
