Sadly the app does not work. Before you can dive in anything you’re required to pass a pre test. It’s supposed to begin with a video. This does however not load and is impossible to play. Neither on WiFi, cellular, airplane mode… restarting the app or phone or reinstalling does not fix the issue.
Luckily I only took the free trial so I could cancel quickly. Sadly, if the app is ever fixed I won’t be able to retry as this option is now used up and I will not pay for an app which I can’t be sure of whether it works or not beforehand.

Ich hatte ausversehen die Probe Periode überschritten, das war mein Fehler. Das erste was mir daraufhin auffiel war, dass das Abonnement nicht in meinem Appstore erschien, somit also nur erschwert zu kündigen war. Fast eine Stunde hat es mich gekostet, die Automatische Verlängerung des Abo’s auf einer verschachtelten Website zu kündigen. Dann wollte ich memoryOS eine Chance geben und schauen, ob sie tatsächlich hilfreich ist. Leider musste ich für mich feststellen, dass man ohne täglichen, zeitlich begrenzten Einsatz, nicht weiter kommt. Hatte ich ein paar Tage lang fortschritte gemacht, zwang mich memoryOS rechtzeitig weiter zu „spielen“, da sonst alle meine „Errungenschaften“ wieder zerfielen. Vor allem brauche ich keine App, um mir erst 10 Dinge, dann 11 Dinge, dann 12 Dinge zu merken. Revolutionär ist hier nur das Niveau, auf dem der Kunde eiskalt abgezockt wird. Das Haus gewinnt auf jeden Fall immer. Ohne mich. Vielen Dank fürs lesen.

The app is quite good but the business tactics of the company are not acceptable.
Yesterday I received a pop up for a “Special Offer” for the Essential Plan for 9,99€ a week, basically 45€ per month! Normally, the Essential Plan is 13€ per month (monthly) or just 7€ months per month (annually) in my country.
Showing a “Special Offer” for up to six times the normal price is just not acceptable.

The app is well-designed and the memory techniques really work. I have only completed the first module, but so far, care has been put into the design and structure of the lessons.
The UI can feel a bit outdated and unresponsive at times, but it‘s not too bad. That‘s why it‘s only 4 stars. I highly recommend this app to anyone who wants to remember things reliably.

Typing on the iPhone is not fun in the voice dictation is atrocious so I wish I could use a voice via some third-party functional dictation software… Like whatever they use in the ChatGPT app seems to work lovely I’m here to learn, not to fight with the slowed down keyboard on my old iPhone that they want me to replace.

This app is nicely done with a good concept in general. The layout is lovely with much effort into the details. Jonas von Essen has a unique way of leading the users into the world of structured memory training with various tipps and tricks. Yet sometimes the navigation through the app or especially the mind palaces is not intuitive and not well explained. Also some of the instructions to the lessons seem to make sense only afterwards. Support, if needed, was ok.

Seit zwei Jahren übe ich selbst ohne App mnemonic Techniken … klappt auch ganz ok, aber memoryOS hilft mir super das Wissen zu vertiefen. Bin sehr zufrieden.
Preis ist ok, wenn man sich bewusst macht, dass man hier lebenslange skills lernt … wenn man fleißig bleibt 😉

There are some things that should be improved and the team takes in the feedback and while I’m using it, there was already an update to fix some of the feedback the customer provided. That’s awesome! And the courage and motivation to build something like that is priceless! We should learn that in school. It’s amazing what you can learn and remember! Die Video-Lektionen sind gut gemacht und erklären die verschiedenen Mnemo-Techniken eingehend und ausführlich. Wer mal ein Buch zum Thema gelesen hat, wird vieles wiedererkennen. Natürlich wird auch hier das Rad nicht neu erfunden. Trotzdem ist die Präsentation anschaulich und unterhaltsam. Außerdem sehr umfassend.
Wirklich herausragend sind die verschiedenen virtuellen Gedächtnispaläste, die es einem ermöglichen, sehr strukturiert die sogenannte Loci-Technik zu nutzen. Aus meiner Sicht lohnt sich dafür auch der vergleichsweise hohe Preis. Ich würde mich freuen, wenn memoryOS in nächster Zeit noch weitere Trainingseinheiten dazu bekäme oder möglichst noch weitere Memory Palaces.

This app has great potential. Unfortunately in the Demo there are some severe bugs which ruined parts of the user experience for me. I cannot get past the end survey of Lesson 1 (Module 1), since I will be asked to fill it out even though I submitted the survey many times. Please fix it. I will try using different approaches, in order to get too Modul 2 and 3.
