I'd love it if Push notifications worked. Instead you have to have the application open if you want to know if someone has sent you a message. There are now three versions of WhatsApp for Ipad and none of them have this feature though 2 of them， this being one， either claim or request permission to send push notifications. At this point I'd settle for even the little red number in the corner but even that doesn't work. On the plus side， you can multitask with split view on IOS 11， which you can't with the other versions thus far. So there is progress it seems
