For what reason do you need full access to my adressbook?

The app crashes every time one clicks on analytics or profile. It would have to go through some serious improvements to become usable.

Please work on privacy of the app. It’s horrendously unacceptable how much data you collect and the nature of the data is just unacceptable.

Impossible to delete or unsubscribe from academia. This is ridiculous, i get tons of spam emails. Private company !

Der Login funktioniert bei mir leider nicht, weil ich den Login-Screen nicht nutzen kann. Sobald ich Academiaedu aufmache, öffnet sich eine Webseite in Safari (iPhone), die mir nur die Möglichkeit bietet, Academiaedu zu öffnen - und aus Academiaedu heraus öffnet sich dann direkt wieder diese Seite.. bin ein paar Mal frustriert mitgehüpft und habe jetzt kapituliert :/

The option to get mail when
(As a user) there were a mention of
someone with same name
without opportunity to disable mentioned mails is irritating,
So please shut off this wilst it is flooding my inbox several times a week.

Got the app because the mobile browser version is a catastrophe, but it gives really much too limited functionality. Analytics page frequently does not load at all, and where are my notifications and messages? I like academia.edu very much, but I guess I'll just have to use it on my desktop, because this isn't working.

I enjoy the app. It is a welcome addition to the website. However, the website, Academia.edu needs to decide whether they want to become a tool of research or a social media platform for academics. I may consider paying money for the former, especially if Academia was to integrate something along the lines of an RSS reader that would allow me to subscribe to journals and be alerted about new issues. Other desirable features would be an export to bibliographical services like Endnote and Zotero, tags to organize one’s library, etc.
Right now though, Academia sometimes behaves like a social media site that wants to make me linger on its pages and procrastinate instead of work. Mentions may be an ego-boost for some but the feature is not really a serious tool of research. Hence I am not paying for that.
I am interested to see how Academia develops in the future.

I wonder if It would be possible to have forums to discuss specific topics, etc. between writers of the same field.also why not upgrading to video conferences to discuss face to face.

Just perfect for students who actually can not pay a huge amount of money to study or read .
Beside the fact that it’s a free app, you can download any book you want and read it in offline mode .
