Unread Erfahrungen und Bewertung

Allein für einen Feedreader ein Abo abzuschließen käme für mich nie in Frage. Denn für die eigentliche Leistung, das bereitstellen des Contents, zahle ich ja schon bei Diensten wie Feedly oder Feedwrangler.
Einmal im Jahr für eine neue Version bezahlen, wenn es denn substanzielle Änderungen gäbe, wäre ok. So verzichte ich lieber und nutze Unread von Feedly.

Zuerst tauchten vor etwa 2 Wochen viele Artikel doppelt auf und jetzt gar dreifach! Was läuft schief?

While I’m happy that the app retained the looks, I’m simply not convinced about the minor changes in layout of the articles (less spacing), the big tick boxes are definitely a step back, with new subtle changes in animation that are for the better; can’t quite figure out why have we have narrower views not on iPhone and less spacing between articles on iPad, as it definitely doesn’t translate to a better experience. Some major new features for those who need them, and subscribing to feeds is definitely something I’ve been looking forward to. First testing looks like one step forward two steps backwards, and the price is quite steep to give it a shot (especially since you have to buy a year of it).

I have the same problem as other reviewers. V1 is my favorite RSS Reader, especially on the iPad. V2 just seems like a step back when an article just uses 50% of the screen in landscape mode

Ernsthaft, neben Spotify ist diese App Unread die ich jeden Tag am meisten verwende. diese App macht verdammt viel richtig und fühlt sich insgesamt sehr gut an. Ich bezahle gern das Abo, auch zusätzlich zur Jahresgebühr von Feedbin, weil diese App einen tollen Lesefluss ermöglicht.

Was ich an diese App mag:

Intuitive, konsistente Bedienung geht in Fleisch und Blut über: Tippen zum Öffnen. Links wischen für Optionen. Rechts wischen zurück.

Eigene Reader-Darstellung: Einheitlich für alle Artikel. Schlicht und schön.

Sinnvolle Konfigurationen, z. B. Schriftarten, Größen, Farben, welche Optionen angeboten werden.

Anbindung von einzelnen RSS Feeds und Cloud RSS, z. B. Feedly.

Entwickler hat schnell reagiert: Auf einen Bug-Report und ein Feature Request.

Great support: I reported a rendering bug concerning a particular RSS feed and the developer applied a server-side fix in less than 24 hours!

Unfortunately this major update brings little improvement that would justify switching from v1 and it is a significant step backwards in terms of design (non standard UIkit switches) and readability (narrower views). I was skeptical about the change of ownership, since the products of the new owner didn‘t seem to match the polished design Supertop was delivering. I‘m sad to see diese App becoming another mediocre subscription app.

I‘ll use v1 until it stops working and then move on to whichever app is aesthetically pleasing.

Edit: Checkboxes are back to being native UI elements. I gave it a try again, but still the narrow view is too much of a step backwards which holds me back to make the upgrade. I hope for a toggle that let‘s me use the full width of my phone equally to diese App v1.
