The Christmas reflections are taken from the Church House Publishing booklet 'Follow the Star: The Great Invitation - 12 days of Reflections for Christmas & the New Year' which many churches will be distributing to worshippers and visitors at events and services this December.

You are warmly invited to Follow the Star this Christmas in the company of Ian Adams, Archbishop Stephen Cottrell, Helen Dearnley, Bishop Rose Hudson-Wilkin, Gemma Hunt, Victoria Johnson, Naomi Metzger, Zeb Soanes, Anne Wafula Strike, Archbishop Justin Welby, Matt Woodcock and Ben Woodfield.

The app brings together some of the key digital resources for individuals and families for both Advent and Christmas 2022, as well as providing easy access to information about services and events near you as well as our national online services.

Every day from 1 December to 24 December there will be an Advent Calendar of simple actions to help children and families prepare for Christmas.

This app offers 12 reflections on the theme of invitation, one for each day (Monday to Saturday) from Christmas Eve through to the Epiphany on 6 January.

• Easy access to national online services for Advent and Christmas.

The top-left 'Menu' icon also allows you to browse all the reflections by date and gives you access to all areas of the app including suggestions on 'Going further' in your Christian journey, credits and more.

Each reflection is by a different contributor and contains a picture, a short Bible passage, an invitation to action and a simple prayer.

Each day's theme links to a simple action which is designed especially for children and families (see below), but people of all ages may find them helpful.

Together, they form a journey that will help you take fresh encouragement and hope from the Christmas story into the year ahead.

During Advent the Church prepares to celebrate Jesus' coming as a baby in Bethlehem and also looks forward to his coming again in glory.

This app offers a daily theme, Bible verse, and an invitation to pause and pray.

Welcome to this #FollowTheStar - The Great Invitation app from the Church of England.
