The app and the underlying idea is really nice. It definitely helps thinking about the own relationship and improving communication with your partner.
However, the user experience is somewhat bulky. It’s very cumbersome to navigate through the cards.
Here are some ideas to improve the UX significantly:
1. In each deck there should be a “back to start” button. Right now I have to shuffle back through all cards to get back to the beginning of the deck
2. It would be even better if there was a slider below the cards which you can use to quickly slide to a certain position within the deck
3. Deck cards should be numbered (x of y), so that you get an idea of where you are within the current deck
4. Favorited cards could have a (slightly) different color so that it is easier to find or notice favorited cards within the whole deck (especially in combination with no 2). The star at the bottom of the screen can be overlooked too easily.
5. For each deck, there should be one intro page combining the “about this deck” and “how to use this deck” texts. Right now both are separated using different UI elements (full page intro screen and modal dialog).
As far as I can see, these ideas are low-hanging fruits and relatively easy to implement.
If the UX improved, I would give 5 stars for sure.
