Why do I have to pay twice?

I bought the Players Handbook, the GM Hand Book, the monster Handbook and the Campain Tomb of Anhiliation as real books.
My question is, why should i buy them twice?! Why can‘t i just enter a downloadcode, which is linked to my D&D Account, so that I could use the great companion app and have paperbacks for my shelf???

App looks good and the Website-Version works well. But on this app, I’m unable to download my content.

Grundsätzlich eine ganz gute App, jedoch ist die Website wesentlich funktionsreicher und funktioniert besser. Denn in den meisten Fällen startet DDBeyondReader nicht.

Ansich liebe ich DDBeyondReader, aber leider stürzt sie aktuell recht häufig ab, wenn ich über das Inhaltsverzeichnis zu bestimmten Stellen springen möchte. Manche Verlinkungen aus dem Inhaltsverzeichnis führen auch nicht zur gewünschten Stelle.
