I have to use this as I have no other option to call my friends and family who live in the Emirates. The UAE government has blocked every other video/voice chat app so their national telecoms company can hold on to their near-monopoly, as well as have an easy access to monitor (read: spy) on all the calls if they need to (for “security” reasons). This isn’t news. We know since Snowden that the US has been doing this for years. But just take a look at the logo. It’s practically a creepy blue robot staring at you.

It won't work properly even though you have to pay for it if you don't want to stay isolated from the rest of the world in certain regions. Calls not going through, no real time notifications, connectivity problems. Probable reason: to much surveillance?

But in the UAE dont see an alternative on the horizon yet.

Worst video chat application I have ever used. The servers are terrible and it take s5 calls until you can hear each other (if that even works then)

Regular interruptions when using within UAE/Etisalat. Not reliable and no alternative to Skype

In some countries my friends had trouble downloading and activating the app. But once that is done it works fine.
