It *used* to work
Unfortunately for the last six months or more it's been useless. Attempting to connect, both from an iPad Pro & an iPhone 6+, results in unreasonable wait times ending in timeout errors. Updates to the app seemed to have stopped and as much as I liked it over the MS RDC, it looks like I'm going to be forced in that direction to have some semblance of functionality.
