Practical and affordable but needs more...

This software was very practical for me specially for the need of having a package of office apps which can work and function similar to Microsoft Office products but I purchased the premium yearly subscription with a double discount offered to me as a Asus PC user and for being a temporary paid customer in the past. So for what I paid for and what this software is capable to do specially with a magnificent feature of synchronize option on any device you install PolarisOffice makes me super happy. But there is a few downsides that I noticed in comparison with M.S office and that is what they need to work more and harder to fix a few bugs on this product and makes it even better.

Lousy update

Everything was working perfectly… once again this last update screwed a lot up. Why? Leave it alone. Now PolarisOffice no longer opens to Polaris Drive documents - I have to select Open Document and choose to Select Polaris Office from a group of cloud options. Also PolarisOffice no longer intuitively knows that the export to PDF function of the same document I just saved to a document folder in the cloud is the same folder the very same document as a PDF will be exported to. I have to select it all over again. Then everytime you update PolarisOffice , my documents remain only in the cloud. Yo, I want my documents on my phone. All 2400 of them. Geez, this gets old. I’m about ready to purchase Microsoft office. Really, this is getting so old. So now I have to wait to see if the next update remedies anything! I build presentations that others use with Polaris.

Another great idea that was poorly executed

I somehow end of with most of my reviews that title. 🤨

So polaris office seemed amazing from the screenshots: PowerPoint, Excel, and Word all in one. Plus it syncs easily with mobile. But on pc version I get ads when all polaris office things are closed. I understand you aren't as rich as Microsoft and with out subscription you have to have ads. But do you need to advertise when I'm in the middle of fortnite? Or stop my typing when there's a new ad? Another problem (not ad related somehow) it doesn't respond well to SwiftKey on mobile or the regular ios keyboard for that matter and when you go back over it and make corrections, it removes one character in front of the one you added. Honestly, unless it's updated, you're better off with Microsoft Office, or the Apple ripoffs. (Pages keynote and numbers)

BTW I looked at the other reviews the dev responses are just copy paste lies so don't bother

Didn't function well on my iPhone 5

I really wanted to love PolarisOffice, as I'm dealing with serious memory limitations on my ancient phone. I tried to make a document with 2 images and literally 2 lines of text, yet I couldn't save it due to repeated error messages (-1). I was already annoyed by the images disappearing.

The ads are super annoying too. I am totally willing to financially support apps... the trial version should not be annoyingly full of ad popups, though. Why would that leave me feeling confident in PolarisOffice ? I know it's tough to get people to pay in this age of "free" apps, so I don't honestly know how developers can provide a solid trial without users simply using that instead of paying.

Anyway, my experience probably doesn't reflect the most common experience, as my phone is older than many. If you are using a newer phone, look for reviews by people with newer phones. And since PolarisOffice is free to try, I feel like it's at least worth trying.

Nightshade Panther Feedback

Sorry for the name but it’s automatic and I was bored and loved the Marvel Hero Black Panther. My Feedback: I love PolarisOffice in general I just wish it was easier to navigate for phone users because it zooms in then zooms and with templates it’s hard to start from scratch and edit. Templates are hard to get especially for the things I need like Newsletters; Brochures; or Portfolios. I wish it just stays where we are working on too because we would have to go back and see if we are doing it right

Too bad there is so little doc app choices for international mac users.

In little less than 2 days of usage PolarisOffice crashed, froze, created duplicate files for no reason, pdf export wouldn’t save over existing file, and somehow ‘saved’ w/o actual file nowhere to be found- costing me at least half day of work in total. Right now I'm staring at my doc frozen, yet again, afraid that it’d create a duplicate (whicb somehow I cannot delete) or even worse, version of a file from 2 hours ago instead of one from my latest save. This has happened yesterday.

I got PolarisOffice because i have to write some docs in kr. There are some pros; best one being that it allows my own font selection. I even got their subscription plan for pdf export. Too bad there is so little choices for international mac users.

Good office suite

This is a great alternative suite for 365. Polaris Office works well with .docx files. I have created and edited simple word processing files that didn’t have any problem switching back and forth from MS Word and Polaris Word with my iPad Pro 10.5”. I imagine that the same could be said for MS Excel / Polaris Sheets, and MS PowerPoint / Polaris Slides, but I have not tried with them.

The UI is simple and easy to use. On my 10.5” iPad I have to swipe to get more of the tool bar features to see and use. This is not a problem though since more of the popular tool bar features are already in view to use.

Lost work

It was working ok for a little while. I was able to edit a file on my phone and pc, but it insisted on auto saving instead of letting me just hit save when I wanted. This led to it somehow saving an old copy from my phone when I went to look at it the next day over an edited copy of the document from my computer, losing several important hours of work. I then attempted to save a backup of the most recent copy I had left, and it told me my free period was over and wouldn’t even let me save the document. I literally had to copy and paste chapter by chapter the book I’m working on to get it out of the program.

Oh and the version history area is blank no matter what I did, so that was super useful 🙄

Insta Delete.

Great app

It’s a great way to review and edit your files when you don’t have access to your computer. My only complaint is in Microsoft word, the comments that I have added do not appear automatically I have to press where it’s located and sometimes it doesn’t even show up. Besides that it’s a such a pleasant app to work with

The Ads!

Dear Infraware,
Thank you for developing a productivity app that I feel in my opinion that is more better than Apple’s productivity apps. However, I suggest that you may want to remove the ads in PolarisOffice because to me its a little annoying having to see ads when you just want to get something done. But, I will still give you five stars because I was able to type my summer homework more faster. :D

Summary

Hello Polaris Office,

I really enjoy having you as an app on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I was trying to get a hold of my Capstone from one of my alma mater’s and found it hard to open in a docx format.

So, I was informed by the held desk to try PolarisOffice and it worked. Feels so so great seeing a masterpiece of work after several years. So much for technology which has paved the way for many. And big ups to Polaris! 🙌😁👌💯

Quirky typing

I would rate this with 4.5 or 5 stars except for the frustration of unwanted capitalization and demanding that it knows the word that I want to use. Don’t know where the problem lies but if there is a backspace to make a correction PolarisOffice insists in capitalizing the next and subsequent letters typed. Have to close my document and re-enter to stop I. It also sporadically insists on entering its suggested word! If I try to delete, it insists, so close the doc and re-enter to continue!

Like

Google office tools had been my solution to Microsoft’s subscription plans, but their apps are not as smooth as Polaris’. Basic features work perfectly well on an iPad. I don’t think any document editing will ever be easy on screens smaller than iPad mini’s. Being a cheap user as I am, I’ve gotten so satisfied with PolarisOffice that I’d love to subscribe for more features soon.

Wasn’t too difficult for me to figure out

Resume’s are a major pain anyway .... your program helped me with a template and I was able to figure out how to edit the layout. Just have to make a few more corrections and then type the cover letter and I’m done. Thank you for the ability to do this free. For that i will give you 5 stars!

Good software

I needed something that would allow me to read and edit Word documents on the go. Even the ones with the “docx” file extension work, which is exactly what I needed. The program seems quite simple to use and so far has saved my data for me even when I forgotten to hit “Save”. I am pleased with it, overall.

It’s the only software that would work with my Bluetooth page turner

I purchased a Bluetooth page turner for music performance and this was the only software that allowed me to make my own charts and be able to use the page turner to scroll down the page while performing.

Thank you!

After attempting so many hoops on my laptop with trying to edit and send back an Excel document without purchasing the whole program, I finally downloaded this. It was simple to use on my IPhone and sent the edited document without any problems.

Mostly Functional

It does most of what I need it to do. I really only can use it to update my presentations and documents, not to start one from scratch, unless it’s just going to be something short and simple. To get functionality, I have to drag out my laptop (or drag my work laptop home, blech).

Rip off

I downloaded the free version of Polaris Office and tested it out and thought it may work for my use once the ads are gone. So I purchased the “ad free app” for 2.99 through iTunes, Apple whatever. Polaris office was add free for about the first 10 times opening PolarisOffice . So I back to ads and they took the bucks! Since we live in a faceless world, it impossible to contact anyone via phone. And next to impossible to even contact anyone through the internet. Either make the ads go away or refund my money.

Great for printing from iPad

I use this to print microsoft docs from my iPad. I don’t try to edit them, so it is very simple for me.

Given the print spooling issues that windows 10 constantly has, this has been a lifesaver for me!!

Old iPhone SE (constant updated IOS)

PolarisOffice gives me a nice way to access files from my -Small Edition Hand-Held Computer- which also has a phone on it. With the iUSB drive and app, I have a twin Floppy Drive access. It s great to have a working computer again.

Na verdade não acho bom. Não existe documentação em português como utilização de fórmulas por exemplo. É disponibilizado no Brasil, e no Brasil, se fala português e não tem documentação como o uso de fórmulas em português. Falta coerência, para dizer o mínimo.
