Great App for Professionals On-the-Go!

I’ve used the Ooma Office Mobile App for over a year now and my overall experience has been great. It allows me to keep my business calls separate from my personal calls, all while using my cell phone. With OomaOffice , you get a separate business phone number along with business phone features like a Virtual Receptionist. OomaOffice notifies you when you are receiving an Ooma Office call, so you know to answer in a professional manner. The texting feature also just became available so you can even send messages from your business phone number! OomaOffice is great for professionals using their cell phones for business calls, without having to give out your personal cell number.

SPAM Blocking

Hello Tech,

Is it possible we could block an annoying caller on OomaOffice ? Instead of having to wait till I am back in the office to login to the system to block them. It would be much easier and faster on OomaOffice . Example: a call comes in and its "Hi I'm from warranty services we have been trying to reach you" At this point I should be able to hang up and select block caller on OomaOffice . Sometimes it could be days until I'm back in the office so the harassment continues for the remainder of my business trip then I have to go though my call list and try to remember which callers were spam. Additionally Some of these callers are not on the robo caller list like for example a local pharmacy, the red cross, and the local police and schools looking for donations. This is very disruptive to my work.

I had to put this in a review because your feedback email doesn’t work!!!

The iPhone app does not have all the features

I recently switched my business phone service to Ooma because of the text message feature. However, I now learned that this feature is not available on the iPhone app. My assistant has an Adroid phone and OomaOffice on her phone is very different and it has a lot more options and features. I also do not get all the voicemails and they are sometimes rerouted to the wrong extension.
I posted the above review in December 2019z
However, in late January iPhone had an update which in fact fixed all the issues it previously had. I can honestly say now that I am very happy with OomaOffice .

App crashes constantly

Started using OomaOffice in may 2021. Worked well at first with the minor inconvenience of dealing with the random annoying pop up asking me to rate OomaOffice (spoiler alert - you can only give it 5 stars). After a few months OomaOffice would drop calls randomly. I just assumed it was Verizon’s fault for data dropping out. It got worse and would even start to drop calls while on WiFi. I reinstalled OomaOffice about 4-5 times but it never made a difference. I assumed it must be my phone. Last month I got a new phone for other reasons and tried the Ooma app. Same issue. This week it got to the point I could not even make a call. It rings once then app crashes. Through process of elimination, it can only be Oomas faulty app or throttling of calls. Their support recommended reinstalling OomaOffice . Just switched service to another company and couldn’t be happier. Skip this one.

Not Impressed - Needs huge improvements

I just started using Ooma Phones and OomaOffice and I’m not impressed with OomaOffice and not impressed with the phones nor the company at all. OomaOffice is extremely limited. Even ESI, which is one of Ooma’s competitors has a better app than this. It needs to be updated with better features that provide business people on the go more technology and a more enjoyable experience.

Also their regular phones are very low tech and their features are very dull. The ring tones are very bad and they sound very old. Their company voices which answer phone calls are very robotic and don’t sound real nor professional.

Come on figure it out, improve and blow your competitors out of the water. You still have lots to learn. Figure it out fast..if people are not patient while on hold, people in real life with your systems won’t either. There are many options out there. Hope you take my advice to heart.

Have had OOMA for 10 years now

And it has been great service. They are always looking for ways to improve or offer more options which I love. When I call in its one of the very few service companies I do not dread calling. My hold time is always very short and every customer service rep has been knowledgeable and able to fully help me every time. Every technical problem I’ve ever had they have been able to promptly resolve my issue. Because they have always valued my time I have always felt like I was important to this company.

Would not recommend for legitimate business use

Features promised by Sales only work on desktop version, not available on mobile phones also numbers assigned promise to identify your company but come across to your customers as suspected spam in most call filter apps and do not show the caller ID or your actual locations so you risk having your existing customers block your call. Not very professional from a truly mobile small business.

Very sad as looked very promising until wasted time trying to convince their technical support teams that their provisioning was not successful and ever problem presented was blamed on my local carrier and not acknowledged as the fault of Ooma nor do they provide proof of what they say were provisioned in order to file a complaint against the carriers as per their excuses

Very very capable system

I first got on my at my home to replace my dated landline. And when their office service became available I decided to get it for my small independent media group radio stations it has proven to be a super capable performer. Especially in the area of receiving texts on the landline. What a great thing that has been for communications company. The sound quality is More than good enough to broadcast in any market. You’ll love the way it sounds you love the way performance. The only thing you may not like, it’s a set up has a long learning curve. Be willing to dedicate a little time to figure out how to use Oma. And once you do you will love it!

Works great.

By happenstance, we installed Ooma a few weeks before the Covid lockdown. It enabled us to work remotely and keep the office going business-as-usual and provide seamless service to our clients. It also allows contact to clients through your cellphone after hours or on weekends without giving up your personal cell number. Like anything, if you don’t have good internet or WiFi, of course service won’t be as good.

If it wasn’t for Ooma, our office would have had a much tougher time servicing clients and keeping afloat while working remotely during covid lockdown.

Outstanding

I have been with them for several months now. I’ve had nothing but a great experience. The quality of the phone calls are much better than my previous VoIP service and the fact that it includes texting and voice recording now at their price point is a huge savings and a big win for small business offices. Give them feedback about your concerns, they are always looking to improve their business from what I can tell.

Not very happy with this update

The new ring vibration is REALLY annoying. Frequently causes my phone to continue to vibrate until I restart my phone. Closing OomaOffice , or disabling notifications will not fix this once it starts. I am currently typing this on a phone that is vibrating, and has been vibrating for 5 minutes.

There doesn't seem to be any way within OomaOffice to change my vibration or disable receiving calls on my phone through OomaOffice without disabling notifications in system settings.

Still no way to block callers, or subscribe to a black list in Ooma Office. This was a major selling point for me in switching to Ooma. To be fair they never said the Office version has these features, but on their website it is not made clear only the home version has these faetures.

Making my business looks bad

My company uses Ooma as our business line. Of course we love the idea that we can get the call from our cell phone when we’re not at our desk. It’s especially useful when we’re working from home. But the call keep getting disconnected, and I can’t conference call through OomaOffice like I normally can from the actual office phone. I’m tired of explaining to people why I can’t conference other team member in because they call me on my work line, and that I have to call them back with my cell number which I never wanted to. I’m tired to explaining to customers and prospect to be patient with the connection. If you’re going to provide the service to people, do it good. Other companies do it, why can’t you?

Great app

It took a min to figure how the mobile app and desktop app worked together but once I did it works great. Having the texting option has changed my business.

My only issue is that sometimes you don’t hear when a new message comes in and phone calls. You’ll get the notification the calm is coming in but you can’t answer the call. Turning on and off my phone usually fixes it

Confusing

There are options on OomaOffice that are not defined and tech support is unable to answer. Very disappointed with their customer-tech support.
Here’s my current example. under More-call Settings there is an option for Integrated calling. If turned on it gives option of Ooma ringtone and Phone Recents Support. When enabled it sends all calls directly to my personal voicemail on my cell.
When I turn off integrated calling it works well enough but then I only receive a brief banner telling me it’s Ooma.
Wish I could get answers but 3x now CS unable to tell me what it is exactly and how to use it properly. Sigh.

Super system

Great system you can always use also in OomaOffice as well as voice over IP phones are amazing and the best part is you can text everyone through OomaOffice directly into someone’s cell phone and stay in touch with them and the customer support is amazing every time you call they will walk you through and if there’s any fixing or anything to do with internal external issues they are amazing

Love it!

I love my service and all the features that comes along with it! I am a new entrepreneur still building and needed a second phone lines to give to my clients. This service gives me everything I need and more. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is in need of a business line but doesn’t want to carry around multiple phones to conduct their business.

Love it but some minor issues so far

I have used twi other companies Vonage and Intermedia both horrible stay away from both. So far Ooma Office is awesome. Interface so easy compared to above companies. Clarity on the mobile app is very good so far. I really like the mobile app. Only issues with the mobile app is, although my caller ID is setup correctly, the mobile app does not show the correct caller ID and no clue how to delete calls in the call log. I have not contacted support yet. I hope the issues can be fixed so I can give OomaOffice 5-stars.

Fantastic for Business - one caveat

OomaOffice & system has brought my business’ professionalism up 100%!! It’s great that I can text customers that their order has been delivered. I sometimes have trouble connecting due to WiFi. It definitely is something you have to wait until it’s completely sent before you start driving. It isn’t quite like texting on your phone, there is a relay which is understandable and expected.

Excellent

So far so good. I especially like update 3.1. Now when a person calls my work number I can open it directly from my locked screen. It’s an easier and welcome process. I haven’t used it a lot yet, but what I have, call reliability has been great too.

Only feature that I really want to see is the ability to send and receive texts from my number. That would be awesome if they would implement that!

Horrible customer service

I started a 30 day trial with Ooma Office to see if it would fit my small business needs. I was promised by the salesperson that I could cancel with her at any time during the trial, and then also that it was a month-to-month contract. When I tried to cancel with her, she told me I would have to call customer service to cancel. When I attempt to call customer service, no one ever has the ability to cancel my account. I will be reporting them to my state’s Secretary of State’s office, and reporting additional charges on my card as fraudulent. I believe everyone should steer clear of this company.

Great App and Service

I love OomaOffice because it gives me the ability to have my office phone number on my cell phone, separate from my personal number. It also allows me to send and receive text messages from my business number. That is a feature that I have been wanting for a long time. Having OomaOffice is like having 2 phones but only having to carry one. Ooma is constantly providing new updates and new features as well. The customer service they provide is the best I’ve ever had. They always answer in just a few rings and I’ve never spoken to anyone I couldn’t understand clearly.

Let us change the call forwarding number on the app!

Everything is great on OomaOffice but I need to be able to change the forwarding calls to different numbers. OomaOffice does not allow me to do this and I am forced to go on a computer to do so. Also, I’m unable to do this via web browser on my phone. Very irritating.

Great and feature-rich

I've run my business with Ooma Office from day one. Their product has lots of enriching features, their customer support is wonderful, and they've been incredibly accommodating to me as I experience cash flow issues with my startup. All around a great app, a great service, and a great company. They get a ten out of five from this happy customer! 🙂

Needs work

OomaOffice works fine for making and receiving calls but needs work. Transfers are blind and you don’t know if the person you are transferring to gets the call. I still receive work calls when I’m signed out of OomaOffice . I even deleted it off of my phone and STILL get work calls. On the phone trying to get customer service now been on hold over 10mins already.

Keep working on improving

Latest update is not much of an improvement. It still has issues with ring vibration not stopping and not allowing the phone to be unlocked in order to answer an incoming call or to forward. Would also like to see total integration with iMac and the Ooma desk phone, i.e. phone book and voicemail, etc.

Ooma

Overall useful however it doesn’t always push incoming calls. Calls are clear most of the time. I like the service just would like to be able to retrieve incoming calls more effectively.

Awesome Sound Quality

I use Ooma office thru their virtual extension and the sound quality is fantastic! I was truly surprised that there was no delay (like most phones have). It’s affordable and the virtual receptionist makes my business sound more professional. *HIGHLY RECOMMEND*

By

Lacking basic features

OomaOffice is so anemic that it boggles the mind that it was released. Competitors like RingCentral have had apps with far richer feature sets for years. You can’t search for contacts (get ready to scroll through hundreds of extensions), set your voicemail, or add contacts from OomaOffice. You can’t modify your caller ID appearance or set up ring groups. The developers took the concept of ‘minimum viable product’ way too far here.

Inconsistent App, Poor Customer Service

I called the support line several times and the communication, level of respect, and general knowledge base was poor. I expresses my frustration and the service got worse. I was put on hold without any acknowledgement and no real solutions were offered for OomaOffice not working at all. They told me no one calls in with any problems, there are no problems, except the one I was having??
