Worst bank ever!!

First off customer service is so bad! I’m only 16 and I had this bank for almost a year and In these last months I was getting money taken out of my account by someone from another state and I told them I didn’t spend and that wasn’t me and they told me they didn’t know and couldn’t help me!! The person took so much money from me on the account I don’t have anymore money and this was my primary banking since I’m not old enough to get something like PayPal. This is really the worst bank that you can bank with and it really makes me sad cs I’ve been trying to save up for a car and it’s impossible with skylight when a random person can take money from me, also even after there was no money I started getting so many decline fees so I just paused the accounts(I should have done that in the beginning) I tried to ask why they were given me these decline fees after I told them that this wasn’t me spending my money and the lady just kept saying “you Bought something” or should would say she didn’t know and only I can know and that they can’t help at all

DONT USE!

NetspendSkylightONE doesnt even deserve a star. Ive been trying to get into NetspendSkylightONE for three days to try and close my account but every time i log in it takes 20minutes for anything to load or it just doesnt load anything and you have to constantly refresh NetspendSkylightONE . Customer Service is not helpful, there was a negative balance on my account and it is almost impossible to send money onto the card if you dont have direct deposit, which i dont because i stopped using the card. customer service keeps telling me things i already know instead of helping me figure out how to get money onto the account. I used paypal and the transaction was canceled. used it another time and the money sent but disappeared an hour later. tried sending money from another debit card and it says the bank doesn’t exist / the bank has my account paused. Its not worth it, if you have to use it, hurry up and find a different card to send your direct deposit to.

Card forced on to me by an employer

I don’t want this card. There are so many hidden fees. All the fees are so this company can make money off of low level service workers who don’t want this card in the first place. The boss pushed this card to solve a business problem and masked it as a gift. It’s not a gift it’s a service one no person would opt into but employees are forced into. This card is terrible tell your boss he needs to pay for the service not us the workers. Tell your company that we don’t want this trash we won’t our money and we won’t it without hidden fees without thousands of barriers and without terrible customer service. We are people and we just want respect not a card that taxes I mean charges poor people.

Warning! Don’t bank here!!!

Believe me, if I could give minus stars I absolutely would. I’ve been a customer for over 8yrs, and rather enjoyed having an account with them. But recently, I tried to dispute two transactions of my account that ended up being fraudulent and instead of helping me, they denied the disputes and permanently closed my account. On top of all this, they permanently banned me from opening another account with them ever. When I attempted to get answers on two separate occasions, nobody could tell me why. I kept being told I would hear back within 24hrs from their fraud department. But never did. I did nothing suspicious. I did nothing fraudulent. I reached out to my bank for help, and they double victimized me. Why would I EVER want to open another account with a bank who treats their long term customers like this? Absolutely abhorrent behavior and customer service. I HIGHLY recommend NEVER trusting this bank with your money.

Avoid at all costs

Customer service is overseas, they have ZERO capabilities since they’re not stateside and can only email requests to the departments (in the US) that you will NEVER be able to speak to. The only bank that I, or anyone else for that matter, have EVER heard to have a MAXIMUM deposit amount.

When demanded to provide documentation proving your deposit (same company that has sent countless deposits with NO problems) they will tell you you have until exactly 5pm CST to meet all of their demands or they will reject your direct deposit and hold it for up to 6 days. I called at exactly 8AM, conferenced my employer in to the call, got them the letter they demanded and yet it STILL won’t be released until THEY call both my payroll person and me to confirm once again. What happens when you call them? Either it’s a fast busy signal (70% of the time) or the automated bot will tell you to call back later and HANG UP ON YOU EVERY SINGLE TIME. The. Absolute. Worst. Ever.

If you want your payroll held hostage, these guys will hook you up!

Next call is to the Attorney General, one after that is the CFPB. Creating obstacles and limiting communication are the types of offenses directly related to predatory lending that results in enormous fines and much more. Creat problem, limit solution = Company Mantra

Despicable business practices and clearly failing their fiduciary responsibilities.

Worst prepaid card/app

I work for arbys. My new card just came on Monday, it was working great that day. Today I tried ordering food but my card wouldn’t work didn’t think nothing of it. Today I requested a Lyft for work but for some reason my card wasn’t working again even tho I’ve already used it yesterday. I’ve tried calling customer service multiple times and stayed on the phone for 40min. I can’t even call to check my balance on my card it automatically transferred me to customer service even tho I didn’t ask. I’ve also tried setting a account online to check my balance but it says “something went wrong please call customer service” Now I have absolutely no way to get to or from work... especially in today’s crisis this IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS CARD AND ALL NETSPEND

I’ve be trying to resolve an issue with this so call bank for over a month with a charge that wasn’t mine and still haven’t received a refund. They came they could offer a “provisional credit”, but I want my money. After several phone calls and emails, I’m still waiting so when I get my money I’m definitely closing this card out.

UPDATE: I’m still trying to resolve this issue that happened in November and they are blaming me because I didn’t submit paperwork to get provisional credit. Let’s be real Netspend/Skylight, it doesn’t take two and half months to see that I didn’t make a charge and refund me my money. Then then when you email or call you get the same script, blah blah blah. I just want my money so I can close out this account.

Worst banking app I’ve ever seen.

I’m forced to used NetspendSkylightONE to cash out tips at my work. First of all, it’s slow and clunky but that’s not even the worst of it. Currently it’s telling me I am not allowed to transfer ANY MONEY TO MY PRIMARY BANK ACCOUNT. So my money is stuck in the skylight account. I can’t put it in my other bank accounts because of a cap of some kind. I just got off the phone with customer service and they told me: 1). Call my main bank (clearly trying to get me off the phone) 2). Let me put you on hold (I was on hold longer than I spoke to anyone) 3). Use an ATM machine. After an HOUR of being on the phone, their solution to this problem was “just take the cash out of an ATM machine and deposit it to your main account.” One star is too high.

Card stolen

It’s insane how hard it is to report a card stolen my card had been drained less then 24 hours ago my car was broke into while at work and the only I was able to cancel was my Discover card and I spoke with a live person the way any card should be I still seat with my card out there and none of my cards have answered and this card is the only way I get my tips from work. I have no choice but to keep this card but yes need a 24/7 way of us contacting when fraud is being done. It shouldn’t matter time or date or holidays.

Just crappy by all means. I’ve been with this so called company for 4 years and I still haven’t seen any good updates. How about actually connecting with a actual bank that’ll support everything and everyone. Can’t make deposits anywhere and I should know because from South Carolina to Texas there’s nothing we can do when it comes to talking to these people. EMAILING DOESNT WORK, even if you talk to them on the phone they can’t help you out at all. Trust me when I say this DONT BANK WITH THESE PEOPLE. Just want my money back.

I say for a while I’ve had a pretty good experience with them but things have changed. Someone got my info and made purchases out of state and I got alerts. I was able to pause my card and Skylight blocked my account when they noticed the transaction. After they text me to call and it took over 2 and a half hours to speak to someone. They told me everything is resolved and unblock my account. Of the two disputed transaction they only fixed one and I assumed they would fix the second later. I saw the bigger transaction restored to my account. I get up the next day to see If the second was restored and the first transaction was still taken out. Customer service needs work!

I started using this “bank” because my employer can direct deposit faster into this account than my credit Union. This is a terrible system. I’ve been disputing a double billing from my loan company. The company isn’t disputing the charges and would like to give the money back. However this “bank” is holding it hostage with absolutely ridiculous demands. Meanwhile when you call, you get someone that doesn’t speak English or is capable of understanding words of any kind. Also their mobile deposit is a joke. They won’t deposit anything. So I still have to use my credit Union to cash any paper checks. Why even have this account if it doesn’t do anything?

Worst service I’ve ever used.

I have been trying to get access to my card online and through NetspendSkylightONE for coming up on a week now. I have activated my card and been told my balance over the phone. That is the furthest I’ve gotten to having access to my funds. Every time I try and make an account or log into an account I’m just told to call (customer service number) but when I call I’m just told by the automated message to go through and activate my card again. I emailed customer service on Tuesday and still have not received a message. I regret choosing this as my form of payment. Worst service ever.

TERRIBLE BANK TERRIBLE APP STAY CLEAR!!

Used this as a pay card for my job for a year, and as my only deb it card. First off, the card itself is flimsy and wears out quickly. Second, NetspendSkylightONE is incredibly slow. Third, if you try to use a VPN with NetspendSkylightONE , it locks your card out.
My new job finally gives me a different better pay card, so I try to use the skylight check at a check cashing store, and they said this company gave them trouble in the past so they no longer do that. After a phone call, I now have to wait 3 business days to get MY money back. Ridiculous. AVOID THIS CARD IF YOU CAN!!!

Plain awful

This company is set up to only take in your money and make it difficult to get your money out without fees. My job is forcing me to use this to get my tips and mileage. You want to set up direct deposit to them, pay money into the account, or bank transfer into this, they can do that easily. Want to bank transfer out? You’re out of luck. You have to find one of their in-network atms, then go to your bank to deposit it. Any institution that plays you like this isn’t worth your time if you have a choice. Steer clear of NetSpend as a whole if you can

Why doesn’t it support All-Access accounts?

I’ve been with Netspend for years & was recently upgraded to the All-Access account. I am very disappointed that my app no longer supports my account & when I follow the link to NetspendSkylightONE Store to get the one that will it brings me right back to this one. It’s so aggravating & it has now locked me out of my account. Please update NetspendSkylightONE to include All-Access accounts or release an app that does. I hate that my money is tied up because I’m afraid of overdrawing the account.

Where to start

Don’t know where to start about how buggy & just downright awful NetspendSkylightONE is. I generally keep my earning in my savings account, and the process of going through a savings transfer is so long because of how buggy NetspendSkylightONE is. It’s constantly saying, “something went wrong with the connection”, it’ll sign you out randomly, and even say you need to contact customer service because your account is locked when it’s not locked. They claimed they improved NetspendSkylightONE , but what they really did is mess it up.

Looking for a better solution.

Been with Skylight several years. Card works everywhere I need it too. No problems with D/D. N/P even with 2 pay checks for a short period. O/D service has come in very handy. Telephone customer svc has been decent.

Biggest problems now are:
- No ApplePay/GooglePay/SamsungPay
- No Secure Chip Card
- Not approved for Über, Lift
- Not approved for Venmo, ApplePayCard, Square, etc
- Can’t use for car rental
- Almost impossible to add non D/D funds since Walmart & CVS no longer support MoneyGram (M/G).
- M/G is a cumbersome ripoff, should allow Skylight deposit thru M/G App.
- Can’t find No-Fee ATMs, CashBack terminals are the only option
- No Photo/Check Deposit capability
- Other Svcs like Simple and Chime offer all of this and more.

Just download Chime. Hope you Skylight NetSpend people get your act together quickly.

Horrible Service

This card company ruined my paycheck money, I was ready to receive the next morning when all of a sudden my account it ineligible??? I sent in my documents, but they kept saying Over and over that I need an original copy??? Like seriously?? The card was working perfectly fine before, but out of the blue the card is ineligible??? What kind of service is this? I do not recommend this Netspend Skylight to anyone, whatsoever. At all. The customer service was dreadful as well. Disgustingly below average card service. Never again.

I love the design and I like NetspendSkylightONE my only thing I wish is that it had a widget so you don’t have to completely enter NetspendSkylightONE all the time to check your balance on the card or if you have a deposit hit ... So frustrating that after “upgrading” to an all access account I can no longer use my app! And the prompt to download the all access app just reroutes you to the same previous version I have! What app can I use to monitor my account now?! Certainly not Axos, which has no record of me having a BofI account!

I used the Skylight One app for several years with no problem. I was then asked if I wanted to join “All Access.” I did, now I can no longer use NetspendSkylightONE . It says I have to download a new app but when I click on it and it takes me to NetspendSkylightONE Store, there isn’t an app. Thanks a lot! Maybe I’ll go with Capital One 360.

Not consistent

NetspendSkylightONE stinks. 1. It has trouble logging in with fingerprint id. 2. Often it will not display my available balance when everything else shows, 3. requires me to restart NetspendSkylightONE to fix it.
This is a poor quality app equal to the task of representing a poor quality bank.

This is a con job at best. How can an employer utilize a "pay card" that involves fees and complete runarounds in order to get their own money or cannot transfer it into a regular bank account? Something smells fishy here.

The frontline did not even know how much savings interest they are paying out. Red flag #1. Savings interest was not posted. So had to call them repeatedly. Supervisors could not do it. Thus, was told a higher level, ie tech department would handle it. Two weeks later. Nada. If you email them. They will tell you to call. Be prepared to waste at least one to two hours of your life. What a normal bank would resolve in minutes. This outfit is unfit. Only have the card because the national company I work with on a part time basis. Chose this for their convenience. And most everyone that works for them is not happy with using this card and company.

The Netspend Skylight debit card and internet banking service are decorated theives because they took my $50 out of my cash app account and never put it back after they said it was rejected. And when I signed it up into my cash app for transference it said it was accepted but low and behold it wasn't. And now they took my last $50 out of my account without putting it back and gave me a number instead to call. I called said number to fix the issue, and the man on the otherside said it would be fixed. It was supposed to be put on the card within six business hours, but after it was past six hours I didn't see it in my account. I called again to see what happened with it and they told me I'm not verified even though I am fully verified in their system to even have their card and use it. It stated in their own paper work that I have that it can be used for personal use but over the phone she tells me that it can only be used by companies for their checks not for personal use. Which is not true because on their paperwork it states it's also for personal use. They also charged me $2 because I tried to use the card at Walmart and ot didn't work so Netspend charged me. This company are theives and they should be charged all those fees they take away from hard working honest Americans.

I have an account that was my payroll, they allowed someone to "steal" over 20,000.00. On hold for long period of time, got funds put back in account, trying to get my money following their instructions and now they tell me I can only access $1,000.00. Ask for area that approve the withdraw of all funds, was told they could not transfer me, been on hold over 30 minutes, this is the worst company to deal with. Would not recommend anyone dealing with them. If I ever get my funds, I will close this account and tell my employer of all of the problems I have had trying to get my funds and the lack of security allowing so much of my money to be taken out in a matter of minutes from overseas, when there is no history of the type of transactions hitting the account.

Never used Skylight before now. Don't call for an authorization number prior to entering your actual bank. The bank won't accept it, as an authorization number invalidated the check. I didn't realize that the institution must be the one to call for the authorization code on -the-spot. I had to call Skylight and void/cancel the check, so they would put my money back on the card, in my account, otherwise, the money would be lost.This will take 3 days. Never again. I just want to be done with this so-called service, holding my money hostage. I miss real banks and customer service, period. All I wanted to do was deposit my money and close Skylight forever.

I had my account hacked into online, then within the next four days all of my money was taken out of my account. This all happened without any notifications from the company and no signature from me. Federal law requires my money to be insured by Skylight and for them to cover all the money taken out, over $4,000 worth. However, in my attempts to call Skylight to get it back they have repeatedly disconnected my calls, placed me on hold when I told them not to, denied information about my account even though I am the primary account holder, repeatedly passed the call among employees when asked to speak to a manager, and repeatedly sent me back to the main menu. During this time, the company I worked for emailed them about this problem. Their response to me was that I refused an investigation on this matter even though this was the matter I wanted investigated. I am currently still waiting for paperwork on the investigation of the payments that were made, with no response over a week and a half after. While this is happening my account has been blocked not allowing me to check any activities on my account or receive my last 3 paycheck from my employers.

This card is the worst. I notified them before traveling that I would be leaving the country to avoid any restrictions. Of course, my card was immediately restricted when I landed, I was told I could not access my account online or through the app, I could not do any pin transactions or withdraw money from an ATM with this card. I could check my balance by calling using my international minutes, and of course, there was a convenience charge for that. Instead of fighting with them I transferred my phones to my cash app card and decided to close this account once I return home.

Skylight is HORRIBLE. Every move you make with this card has a fee. This is how my husband receives his tips from work. It was the company's idea, the employees had no choice. The claims Skylight makes, such as "no more standing in line..!" or "finally pay bills online" are STANDARD, yet this company acts like they invented this, and only yesterday!! There are people paying bills right now who actually have no concept of standing in line to pay bills or cash a check. Check, what's a check is more like it. I don't know why ANYONE in their right mind would on purpose sign up for this internet hustler. My guess is that they offer it to employers to use free, and cause the employees to have to pay. That's ok, what's done in the dark ALWAYS comes to light. I'm going to go ahead and say BUBYE now, to this flashinthepan company. Next time, try starting a business based on things like HONESTY, fairness, and transparency.

I lost my card and had a spare one that i was trying to activate, they said i need to confirm my identity by sending them my sn and a form with my address and name in it. Once i did it didnt get approved and then they proceeded to terminate my account. Now im stuck with no account and no card no money. Never told me why they terminated my account, now i have to deal with my direct deposit at work and not paying rent for a whole month. Legal actions might be the only way to get them to do anything right

I am concerned that every time I've made a purchase with this card and I've received a credit they have deducted the money from my account. This has happened three times to me. The first time I made a purchase from Pier one . I paid for the merchandise, and returned $70.00 worth of merchandise. Pier one credited my account for the $70.00. When I arrived home I checked my email and discovered that Netspend deducted the $70.00 from my account rather than adding the amount. I made several phone calls regarding this.None of their reps were able to grasp the concept of returning items and crediting my account. The rep wanted the Pier One store manager to call them. I had receipts to prove what had transpired. This was during the Dec. holiday season. They got away with that. I was too busy to pursue this. It shouldn't take hours upon hours of time to handle some thing so basic. It did. My second experience was very similar. My third incident with this company transpired when I placed an on line order that I picked up. The store wasn't able to fulfill part of the order nor would it arrive soon. I called the store customer service and they promptly credited my account for the amount they owed me. Net Spend took out the entire amount of the initial purchase . They then also deducted the amount that was credited to my account. I called Net Spend on the evening of May 4,2021. It was a long while to speak to their rep. I explained what transpired to an extremely rude rep. .She insisted that I was wrong. She then hung up on me. I wasn't rude to her as she was to me. I did the math from my account and Net Spend was incorrect. The next night I spoke to Anna from Net Spend customer service. She was very good. She grasped that a credit should be added to your account not be deducted from it. She said she fixed the problem. I hope she did. She was unable to send me an email to confirm this . I have yet to see if the money has been restored to my account. Net Spend doesn't immediately send this information via email as it does for purchases. Three times they took money that belonged to me. I no longer trust them. I would suggest that every person with this card review your account each day. This company seems to benefit greatly from charging their customers for what should be credited. They have incorrectly taken over $150.00 from me. Can you imagine the additional profit they receive per year by doing this. I don't write bad reviews unless they are over due. Watch every cent with them. The quality of customer reps like Anna in this company are very rare and far between.
