As a software developer and programmer, passing data of all types from computer to mobile is an every day thing. myPhoneDesktop, honestly, I am blown away by it. It actually does more than I realized. Even some things as simple as it automatically saved an image to your camera roll. You can screenshot on your pc and paste it directly and bam, there it is on your phone. I used to use photoshop to save the screen clip, then email it. Also, double click “control C” on any file and bam. “Sent.” Good job to the creators. You remove lots of hassle for me.

Started to set up myPhoneDesktop , turns I had tried it a while back so I had an account. Used the Lost Password function. They sent the password email quickly...with my actual password in clear text! That means two things - 1. they’re ignoring the fact that email isn’t at all secure, and 2. they’re storing your password in plain text instead of hashing it with a one-way algorithm. These are super basic security steps. Any app that fails security at this basic level doesn’t deserve access to your data.

Finally broke down and paid for this and couldn’t be happier. With a simple key stroke Windows sends the selected/highlighted text to the iPhone. Based on what you have selected and send, the phone app automatically initiates a phone call, web search or notes.

Thanks for an app that actually works as advertised!!!

Wish they would offer a trial, only reason I wanted to have such app is because i didn’t want to back and forth between my phone and computer, myPhoneDesktop doesn’t sync the contacts from existing list , yes you can create a contact however, each time you want to send the text you type on your pc you have to go back to your phone and hit the send button on your phone , it’s just inconvenient and I think myPhoneDesktop is
miss- advertised , not worth a dime.

I have had lots of trouble getting my text that I type on my desk top window to get to my iPhone 6. It has worked maybe half the time. When it works, it is really helpful.

Updating review due to security concerns.

I was satisfied with myPhoneDesktop until I went to reset my password. Instead of updating it or sending me a link to reset on a secure website I was emailed my old password in plain text. This means they are likely storing my password as plain text on their system as well.

This is a stupid and unnecessary security flaw. myPhoneDesktop has a lot of permissions with my phone and I am very concerned their information security practices are so poor.

Thank you for the iOS 11 upgrade. I use your app almost daily and was not looking forward to developing an another approach for the transfer of information from my MacBook Pro to my iPad and iPhone. Thanks again for the upgrade.

Excellent utility in an app. Helps keep me organized with doing semi-automated texting as an executive assistant.

Just one flaw: the phone dial pad on the computer moves the message text away and makes it a bit hard to streamline the typing process.

I have been using myPhoneDesktop for a very long time, and for me it works exactly as described. I use myPhoneDesktop every day. I am very happy with myPhoneDesktop , and even happier that it got updated.

Just wasted $5 on this. I can see some benefits on copying long urls and such. I tried it a few times but uninstalled it already within 30 minutes. Maybe I just don't get it. But honestly I could just email it to myself and copy and paste to text on my phone after. Same amount of time.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Typing with a stylus on these small iPad keys is a real pain. Using my finger even worse. Once I figured out how it works, it was really easy. As for security, I don’t text anything that is sensitive or private.

Do not waste $5 on myPhoneDesktop. It doesn’t work at all. If you’re looking to use as a workplace interface to move away from having to use your phone it doesn’t work in the slightest. All it does is copy information when you could just as easily (and probably take less time) do it manually. Serious waste. And I want my $5 back. Trash app

I use myPhoneDesktop to transfer data literally every day with my Windows PC, iPad, and iPhone. Can’t imagine not having it. Period.

myPhoneDesktop works fantastically when delivering information from my computer to my iPad. However, one cannot perform the reverse - that is, send information from my iPad to my computer. The only way I can achieve this is to email the information to myself (the whole reason I purchased this application was to stop doing that!)

Scanning their website shows that this feature request has been around for over a year (at least) - the developers continue to claim that it is in active development, but have yet to give any proposed timeframe for its release.

If myPhoneDesktop had the ability to send information bidirectionally, I would rate it 5 stars. Until then, I see it as only half developed and worth only 3 stars.

I purchased myPhoneDesktop last Friday and I wasn’t able to use myPhoneDesktop at all because I can’t create account. I deleted and reinstalled myPhoneDesktop more than 10 times but the screen freezes when I open myPhoneDesktop . I emailed the developer 3 times but no respond as of today. I wasted $5 on JUNK!

While I had hoped that this would work similar to my iPhone to iMac paired text messaging, but between my iPhone and PC laptop, that was not the case. However, it also did not work at all like described, none of the texts or messages that I sent from myPhoneDesktop ever arrived to their sender.

Please don’t buy myPhoneDesktop because nothing work.

The newest version is made in 2014! So myPhoneDesktop no longer work on Mac Id big sur. Such a waste of money.

Also the web version doesn’t work on Chrome, Safari or Firefox.

Not being a good thumbs person, I love being able to type my messages on my computer. Works great.

Love the idea but when I wasn’t able to set it up on my own, I reached out through their help tool and never heard back. I tried every tip online and followed up on my question but never got a response.

What you do not discover until you buy it is that myPhoneDesktop is only useful when you have the same operating system on your desktop and your phone. If you have a PC, it will not send text messages to an iPhone.

Just noticed myPhoneDesktop had been purchased with my ID last year - not sure what it is, and I hope they give me a refund.
