i-Hunting : GPS Maps App Reviews

This is a good app to record hiking trips. Topo trail maps can be downloaded for offline use. Recording tracks is just a tap away. Used it to record a 4 hour hike this weekend. I was really surprised that my phones battery lasted that long. We even used it a few times to check that we were headed the right way. iHunting shows the track you have taken so far and where you are headed.

This is a great app if you are looking for land maps with property line and ownership info. I like it how the parcel boundaries are highlighted when I focus on it and the ownership info appears on top. The application includes tons of layers, WMA boundaries that are easy to customize as a map overlay. One of the setting that I found only in iHunting is the ability to change elevation unit from feet to meter.

iHunting really shows a lot of the unmarked trails and fire roads I use fishing compared to standard maps. And the quick switching between layers really helps find new spots with knowing is it public or private access. Really looking forward to downloading some offline maps and testing the accuracy.

When I’m walking lane, I have to constantly tap the gps icon and it bounces me all over property lines. Wish I could set the accuracy within the settings, even if it takes more battery

It runs through my property and also a rich lawyer. He has a public rd gated off. Why can’t I put up a gate and. Keep unwanted traffic off my property that I worked like a mule for forty yrs and paid taxes by th way. Still paying them. Why do rich lawyers not have to play by the same rules maybe th state auditor should ask the supervisor. I want to know what th cash money price is or donation price for me to get gating privilege s ? How much does it cost? I would like to buy one. 💪🖕

I would give this a 5 star review if the information updated once a month or even every 6 months. I’ve owned the property I live on for 4 YEARS and iHunting still lists the prior owner when I look my land up, there are places that have had new owners for going on 5 years that still show the previous owners.

I like iHunting for the tracking, solunar tables and waypoint info. Just know that they do not keep the landowner info current. For me in NW Wisconsin, my county updates info within the week. I bought my property almost a year ago and it still isn’t updated.

I have been trying various apps just like this one. This one seems to be a few years behind on its labels for who owns what land. Part of the info I am hoping to use is knowing who to contact for various hunting locations that are privately owned. This doesn’t work if the individual no longer owns the property it says they do.

Property lines are clearly drawn and highlight when you put them under map cursor. If you hunt near private boundaries, you should definitely get iHunting

I purchased premium version and am not happy with it. Everything is out of date and doesn’t physically show WMA and other public sites.. I would like get my money back. OnX is way better and is up to date.. would be a great app if was a bit more user friendly and up to date and actually highlighted areas of selected interest

Shows accurate property boundaries. Very helpful for both hunting , as well as, discharge , practice with firearms on ones own property . Great ap an asset for sure

This works great. I have had no issues using it. I recommend it to anyone wanting to know information pertaining to parcels of land.

Can’t acquire position from GPS. If you go to Google Maps, you’ll see your phone does know where you are. Go back to iHunting? Randomly off by half mile. You can help it by opening up IOS Compass app and switching back and forth...but that stinks. My guess is that it used to work and they got bit by IOS update. Just a guess

I have not used for hunting but I use it for looking at property and finding the owners this is an excellent app very accurate

You should get iHunting if you want to scount lands you hunt from the comfort of your couch.

Land ownership is not up to date (a couple years off). Can’t find satellite imaging, only maps, so to use reference points with the property lines is impossible.

One of the best if not the best app for maps out there in my opinion!!!

Buying the full USA version some areas worked well and then next time NOTHING. The areas just stay green and no ownership or lot lines shown

Seems it’s a GPS map like GOOGLE and 90% plus of areas do NOT show property owners- the PURPOSE of iHunting
