Great app to track baby’s daily habits!

I am a first time mom who is breastfeeding so a tracking app is 100% necessary to keep my brain straight! I love how I can keep track of everything from my daughter’s diaper change, including it’s color and consistency, to her feedings whether they are just on the breast or a mixture of breast, bottle, formula etc. I also love that my husband or whichever caregiver I allow access can add their own logs of diapers, feedings, activity, or whatever happens when they are taking care of her. My daughter is having slow weight gain so being able to pull the data into a CSV to share with my doctor is also super helpful.

The one thing I would love to see is notifications. Being able to set notifications like when the next feeding is approaching or if we haven’t logged a diaper in a few hours would be EXTREMELY helpful. We have a thousand things going on as new parents and sometimes have to go play catch-up on logging items is a little inconvenient. Smart notifications that we can set through Glow would be very helpful.

Another wishful item would be a Home Screen widget to quickly add the diapers or start the breastfeed or sleep timer. Would save a click or two which could be super helpful 😃

Love this app I use it for everything!

I’m that paranoid first time mom who’s constantly worried about my baby and this has helped so much! We use it it keep track of his sleep and to recognize the pattern he sleeps! We use it to log his feedings which is probably one of the most useful features. I can always check to see when he ate last when he starts fussing. I always have my phone so it’s a lot more handy then a notebook... not to mention it has a timer for eating and sleeping. I also log my babies diapers on here, and it keeps track of wets and soils! One of my favorite things about Glow is looking at the patterns developing, using the community to chat with other moms, and the comparability to other kids his exact age! It does have a place to log bath times, Timmy times, play times, outdoor time, vitamins or medicines. After his last immunizations he had a fever for a day and I used it to log his temperature and the time I administered the children’s Tylenol! There is also a place to log his solids when he starts them, and his teeth coming in when it happens! I’m resting easy now! Thanks so much!

Tracking with a lot of clutter

I enjoyed Glow at first. I even bought the premium subscription while I was still pregnant. Tracking works well, and when the watch app works properly, it’s handy. BUT... they keep adding silly features that get in the way. The “AR” photo book seems gimmicky and I wouldn’t trust it to work reliably. They are always sending notifications about silly posts in the forums... Now the stories! So much clutter and nonsense! It’s too bad because I like the tracking features and use them pretty religiously.

I’ve been trying some other more streamlined trackers, and currently like Huckleberry because we’re in the throes of sorting out nap time and it helps guesstimate when the next nap should be. (And it’s not such a train wreck when I open it up!)

Apple Watch app... ugh. Bit of a let down. First: It’s easy to accidentally lose the reading. In the phone app you can leave the timer and it keeps running, but on the watch, if you hit back it cancels it. So many lost sleep tracks! Worse: it displays the times differently than the phone and makes me do math to estimate when the last nap ended! For some reason they tell you when the last one started and how long it was - but not in minutes, in hours! E.g. 1:25pm, 1.4 hours long. So it ended.... errr... how many minutes is .4 hours? 20 something? This is not kind to users who are not sleeping well!!

My preferred baby logging app

I’ve used Glow for both my kids now, and also for my niece when I was caring for her as an infant. In that instance it was particularly helpful because my sister also used this app and we were able to share information. Overall I am happy with Glow , but there are a few caveats. They are really insistent on trying to get you to pay for the upgraded version. I understand why, but it’s pretty obnoxious and has gotten worse over time. Also, the “articles” are consistently terrible. Access to more is one of the “perks” of paying, which isn’t appealing to me. Some are so misleading or patently false that it makes me concerned for others reading them who might not know better. I don’t like the “community” aspect, but that’s easy enough to avoid. That said, it’s quite good at keeping track of all the things that my brain just can’t remember. I especially like the solids tracking because my daughter has food intolerances, it’s the only part that has me considering paying for the full version. I also appreciate the growth charts and generally being able to keep all of the information in one place. I use Glow constantly and recommend it.

Very easy to track

Glow is very easy to track and use. I downloaded multiple baby trackers when I brought my newborn home from the hospital and I ended up keeping this one. It was thebeasiest to track using the timers for feedings and it is amazing to be able to close Glow and reopen while it still times. Also the diaper tracking is really easy, I do wish you could put the amounts like a lot of poo or a tiny bit of poo. I also like the activity tracking for baths and nail trimmings but also milestones. I needed up buying the premium version for 50% off with the deals that they give out. I bought the lifetime so it doesn’t expire. To me it was very worth it because you get weekly reports and then you get access to adding other things like solids and such. Also a big things that I absolutely love is the articles and advice that it gives while your are tracking. It has tons of articles that I end up having questions about as a first time mom and it gives me good tips when I add more tracking. I love Glow and I’m glad I found it.

Overall, Easy App to Track Necessities

Overall, I enjoy Glow. I downloaded a few the night I brought my son home. this app Baby is the one I decided to keep, with how easy it was to leave Glow open and click on the timers for tracking feedings. It’s just as easy to track diapers as well, and I’ve been happy using the weight feature to track our doctor’s appointment weights. I think my favorite piece (over easy feeding tracking), are the tidbits of advice that pop up as you’re using Glow . The articles and forum are also positive places to read and connect with other users. The only downsides to me, are that you can’t edit anything once you’ve clicked saved. I’ve had a few feedings where my son has been done.... and then a couple moments later decided to go back for round 2, the after-dinner snack. It would have been nice just to tack that into the original but alas, it’s not possible. Also, the top of Glow are advertisements and soliciting for “memories” to be added. It’s a huge chunk of the space and I would prefer if I could make it go away since I don’t use memories.

Update a love it

Absolutely love Glow & I am happily surprised at how well the developers listen to their feedback and truly improve Glow based off that. It’s super easy to input & track almost everything in Glow. The one update that would make Glow even better would be to have daily pumping oz totals on the homepage as well for a bit more ease of convenience. I do love that it’s currently on the pattern chart as it helps me keep a perspective of the day but it’s a bit more difficult to get to. Or even if the pattern chart just opened up directly when toggling over to analysis instead of having to click in & highlight the day, so there would be less toggling / clicking to be done. I actually didn’t even know about the totals feature for everything on the pattern chart until I had been reading a Facebook post from a friend who was looking for app suggestions & someone mentioned the totals being viewable from the pattern chart. It’s kind of like a hidden gem Glow features, that if highlighted a bit more / more easily accessed could greatly improve an already amazing app!

Incredibly helpful! - updated

First time mom here- I tried 3 other apps before finding this app. I was so frustrated by how complicated other apps were. this app really streamlines info and makes everything SO organized and easy to get to. I never have to worry about tracking because it’s seriously a breeze with Glow.

I gave it 4 stars because I’m not a huge fan of all the articles and/or tips - some things you can’t predict for every baby and it might make some moms worry when there’s no need to (too much information isn’t always a good thing).

**update** lowered to 2 stars... I’ve used Glow for over 4 months now and still really like how easy and convenient it’s been but they shove the pro version every chance they get. That gets annoying if you’re just trying to time a feed before your kid gets fussy and adds keep popping up. They also just updated Glow (like a big update that changed where everything is) and it’s more confusing than it needs to be. Instead of making items more accessible they made it more difficult to find (also annoying if you just got used to the other version). I wouldn’t recommend Glow with the new update.. the only reason I keep it now is because I have all my previous data on it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Great app that grows with your baby

I initially downloaded Glow to track breastfeeding, but I ended up using it for so much more. I still log my nursing sessions and it's been 3 months. It's helpful to remind me which side I left off on and how long ago it was. It helps me plan ahead by checking to see if it's been a while since he ate last. I also used it for the first few weeks to track diapers. This is especially helpful for breastfed babies to make sure they are eating enough. Although I don't track diapers anymore, I have started using the pumping timer and the bottle fed tracker. I also started using the sleep tracker now that he's not sleeping all the time anymore and I want to make sure he is getting good stretches of sleep during the day to see if that helps him sleep more soundly at night. Glow is great because the features are there for you to use them when you need them even if it's not all of them all the time. Oh! And I like that you an add another person to your account so both parents or babysitters can track too and you get the same information on your phone.

Love love love

Glow helps so much! Mom brain is a thing...and with Glow you can look back and see when baby ate, how much baby ate, and when you changed the diaper and what was in the diaper! When the doctor asks you important questions about food intake you have the most accurate answers! Even if you breastfeed, formula feed, or pump! I’m telling you Glow is a must have. Glow also grows with baby! Solid foods can be tracked. Teeth eruption can be tracked. Even baths, tummy time, and indoor/outdoor play! They have a growth chart that tells you the percentile baby is in! Seriously I could keep going but I’m not here to write a novel! Just get Glow Mama!!! Oh oh oh I forgot most important part you can add another person to Glow as a caretaker! So baby’s dad, grandma, cousin etc. Whoever helps you take care of little one can be added and then the apps on both phones will sync up and you never have to stop recording and you know what is happening with a baby even if you are at work or out and about ❤️❤️❤️

Overall good app for tracking

I like everything you are able to track and the option to start the timer or track manually. The reasons I gave it only 4 stars are a couple of key options aren’t available:

1) To be able to see daily totals: for example, minutes and oz total feeding for day would be good to see on the daily log like you do for diapers and sleep time, instead I have to scroll through the day and add it up myself. It would also be nice to see this total by day looking back rather than just graphs and averages. It would be nice to see the sleep total by day as well in history. That way when baby is fussier, I can see if the sleep total is different.

2) it would be nice to be able to start the sleep timer (and play, tummy time timers) and set it back time or just out the start time in and add end time later. When I’m trying to put baby to sleep I don’t know if she will fall asleep in 5 minutes or 25 minutes or when she will wake up. And I can’t always grab my phone the second she falls asleep. And when she wakes up, I don’t remember what time she fell asleep.

Helpful, but some frustrating features

Keeps me on track to know when to feed and which breast to feed from next! So many helpful features but:
1) I PAID for a subscription on Glow and I still get stuck with click-bait left and right. If you don’t tap exactly on the right part of the screen, you’re almost always scrolled over to some stupid article. It’s extremely frustrating when you’re already so busy with your baby.
2) when entering a feed for both boobs, the stupid “optional” boob side, always defaults to the second boob that you enter the time on. That makes zero sense. I obviously don’t know how long, or even if, baby is going to eat from two boobs until it happens, so the default should be that the second boob side you enter should be the “last breast”
3) when entering eating solids, I can rarely get the feature to work to “pull up” to enter the portion amount. I can swipe ten times and get no where. It’s basically a a useless feature. So I can pretty much only track that baby tried a food, if baby liked it, but can’t say how much I gave baby.

Very useful!

My husband and I are brand new parents. My favorite features of Glow are as follows: 1) the ability for both of us to be contributors on the same account 2) the logs for feeding and diaper changes 3) the timers for pumping and breastfeeding. Having both of us logged into the same account helps us keep track of how long it has been since we fed our daughter, as well as notice trends that we can share with the pediatrician. For example, when my husband gets home late in the evening he can jump right in to help out with a feeding since it’s easy to see when our daughter last ate. I’m doing my best to breastfeed every 2-3 hours so it’s helpful to be able to log this and keep track over time. I also love the feature that lets you record how much you pumped on each side. I’ve been able to see very easily that one side typically pumps much more than the other.

I knocked off 1 star because there have been a handful of times that Glow has not updated/synced in a timely manner so one of us hasn’t been able to see a feeding or diaper change that was put in by the other.

Really helped me establish a routine

The this app Baby app has been so helpful to me, a first time mom. From tracking feedings to helping me remember when we last gave baby her vitamin D, Glow helps me keep track of important things. As a new parent who is sleep deprived and has a hard time remembering if I showered today, Glow is like my personal assistant! My husband and I can reference Glow to keep track of who did what in the last middle of the night shift without having to wake each other up.

The reports are also incredibly helpful during visits with the pediatrician because we can review trends and patterns over time.

The only criticism I’d point out is that some of the informational resources contradict the advise I’ve received from doctors and books published by reputable doctors. But that’s always going to be the case when you have access to a lot of information - you’re going to get different perspectives that you need to decide how to use.

Great app, some small UX updates needed

Glow is great. My husband and I both use it. I have an iPhone and he has a google pixel and Glow seems to work better with his OS than mine. For example, when a timer is running (I.e. sleep) it runs in a banner across the top of my phone and covered up my clock which is super annoying because I always want to know the time of day in relation to how long my baby has been sleeping or since she has last eaten. I hope they update the timers so they never obstruct the OS’s clock. I’ve tried to submit this as feedback directly in Glow but I get an error message saying I need to set up a mail account even though I’ve already added an email address to my account.

All in all, these are some errors I’d love to see updated but Glow is still great for logging information especially during the early newborn days when you’re too tired to keep track of everything! Over time, we’ve stopped logging the things we become comfortable managing on our own like diapers and milestones.

I honestly didn’t even want to give it two stars.

Constant ads when you’re holding a crying baby and just trying to log the bottle so you know what time it’s made is bad enough but I told the child’s mother how annoying the ads are on Glow and she said “oh I have premium” so you expect each parent and caregiver to individually pay for premium? That’s weird to me. I don’t mind ads that aren’t invasive but these ads pop up every time I try to do anything. Then there’s the fact that I can’t even see baby food I log unless it’s a certain kind without premium and there’s no way to log medications or any conditions that arise like diaper rash so everyone knows what’s going on. I have to text both parents individually so they know. Most of the time I can’t see bottles logged by other caregivers either. Normally I wouldn’t even bother with rating an app like this I would just delete it but it’s not my child so it’s not my choice. Anyway, when you’re dealing with babies it’s super important that you get things right and that you actually have access to the information you thought you logged. Neither of which Glow provides.

Pretty good app

this app baby is great. It has lots of tools to help you keep track of things involving you, and your LO(s). You can track diapers, feedings, sleep times, and it even has a timer for when you pump. There’s much more that you’ll have to see for yourself. It even has an entire community, which I believe is tied to the this app community in general. There are lots of threads, and forums, ranging from talking about pregnancy, weddings, what to eat for dinner, stubbing your toe yesterday, and much, much, more.

This is where I docked one ⭐️. A lot of the community is great, wonderful, and beautiful, but, much like the rest of the internet, it is FULL of incredibly toxic people. These people will degrade, harass, insult, and bully you. They are relentless, and single minded. The reason I docked the ⭐️ is because, even though there are rules to the community, those people will bend, and break, these rules, even though they agreed to these terms. They get away with it too. Nobody is held accountable.

I’m still going to continue using Glow . It’s incredibly helpful. I’m just going to stay away from the community tab.

Like it, but could use a couple things

Overall this is Glow I liked the best for logging everything for my babe. I like how it’s shown in different colors and it displays it on a graph for the day. There are a few things that could help a mama out. A nice feature would be Widgets... for quick logging. During the day when we’re out and about I don’t log as much because I have to go completely into Glow each time. this app does have an app for the Apple Watch and this has helped with the quick logging. Another nice feature would be notifications for synced users/ care givers. Sprout Baby would actually send me a notification when my mother would log that my baby was eating or that baby had just fallen asleep for a nap. It just eased my mind to know what was happening when I couldn’t be there. In this app Baby there is a feature to export data into a PDF.. I have yet to have this work. I exclusively pump and it would be nice to see my statistics other than just for the day’s, this is said to be on the PDF but I wouldn’t know because it hasn’t worked. Overall I like Glow and will continue to use.

A must have!

I love that not only does Glow track feedings and diaper changes and sleep but that it also allows for your partner to have access to all the same information. I’m a full time stay at home mom so majority of the time I’m the one adding information in Glow but when my husband has a question he doesn’t have to ask me he just checks his app. He can see when her last feeding was or when her last diaper change was. So when she’s crying and he’s trying to determine why he doesn’t have to ask me question after question he has all the answers. The one thing I wish Glow had was some way to take all the info you’ve gathered and give you your babies “averages”. Like a schedule that your baby is following on their own. For example: your baby is averaging a 2 hour nap from 11:00-1:00. Your babies average bedtime is 8:30. Things that would give you insight into making a schedule for your baby because you could see what they are generally doing overall.

Plenty of room for improvement.

I’ve been using this to track my now 2 month old since birth and it’s been very helpful, but there’s a lot of opportunities with it. My husband and I both use it and oftentimes what he has logged on his app won’t show up on my app. Then we have to manually sync with the server which only sometimes resolves the problem. Sometimes Glow on my Apple Watch doesn’t work and will go through a phase for 1-4 days where it tells me to open Glow on my phone, yet when I do, nothing happens. Restarting and uninstalling/reinstalling does not resolve the issue and should not be necessary! Since the update for dark mode on January 23 Glow is extremely laggy. When I click to add/start a log it takes forever to load. This is a very helpful app in theory, but unfortunately it falls short in execution. I have contacted this app support in the past who has told me to just restart, etc., and again, this should NOT be necessary! The this app apps seem to be very popular, so PLEASE get the appropriate tech support to make Glow the best it can be. It’s especially crucial for new parents (who are going to need Glow more than parents with older babies) whose hands aren’t free often enough to keep up with these issues.

Incredibly useful

Glow is a lifesaver. You really don’t realize how quickly time is passing with a newborn. You could be thinking “why is my baby crying? I feel like I just fed her!” And believe it or not three hours have gone by without you noticing. But you don’t have to guess with Glow: It helps you look at things objectively and above all relax. I am 99% of the time able to check Glow quickly and know exactly what she needs because it also helps you discover feeding patterns and what is “normal” for your baby. My life would be much more difficult without Glow.
The only thing I wish they would revise are the articles as they often present conflicting information, which can be terribly confusing for a first time parent. But other than that, Glow is incredible and actually kind of fun. You can even link your spouse or a babysitter to it so they don’t have to do any guess work either. My husband loves using it as well.
Great job, this app :)

Ehh-Not great.

I’m not a huge fan, it’s very average, and I trialed the premium version! I’ve been shopping around and tried multiple apps to see which is most user friendly and meets my needs, this ain’t it. My biggest issue is it’s not detailed enough and there’s no place to add details. I think as a mom we want to be able to add notes to various entries. That’s not possible within Glow . There is a notes section, but it’s in general and you can’t go back to edit or review easily. I want to be able to add notes to diapers if there’s a problem to track, or to feeding if my baby threw up for example maybe from something I ate, or even sleep. And most of the standard options within Glow (ie medication, symptoms, etc) you can’t edit or customize. Also no place for doctors visits or notes for that. And while there’s a place for milestones, no separation for other fun moments that aren’t considered a milestone. Its just too basic for my taste especially for the price. I guess you pay for the Baby 411 book, but it’s just not worth it in my opinion. And the community section is like all social media, there are trolls and people that give horrible, wrong advice.

This Momma’s favorite app

To say I like Glow is an understatement. My husband and I tried, unsuccessfully, for 7 months to conceive our second child. Then I remembered using the this app Ovulation Calculator to help track peak times to conceive for our first child. We literally got pregnant the next month. I used the this app Pregnancy app all throughout my pregnancy until the day I gave birth to my daughter. Now I’m using the this app Baby and it has exceeded my expectations. The articles are very informative and generally exactly what I need for that day. I love the notifications as well that give you information about what you have logged recently. Being able to track when, how long and which side I nurse makes it amazingly easy to keep track of. Also logging dirty diapers is wonderful to be able to easily see if she is getting the nutrients she needs from my breast milk. I can’t recommend these apps enough!!! Please download the bundle. You will not regret it.

Great app for tracking the essentials!

I love Glow. It has been extremely helpful for me as a first time mom trying to exclusively breastfeed and learn how to do so, while also navigating the craziness of caring for this new tiny human and with barely any sleep. I love that it tells me which boob i used last - I rely heavily on Glow to remind myself how to switch to keep my milk supply up. I also use it to keep track of how long it’s been since last feeding to make sure I’m waking him up enough to get his weight back up. The standard version is more than sufficient and so well written, you don’t really need to get premium unless you’re a stats nerd like me and like to see weekly summaries etc. you can get all the info you need out of standard if you don’t want to pay the pricey fee. All in all, LOVE it! And my pediatrician did too. ❤️ thanks this app baby for making this crazy time that much easier!

TERRIBLE Homepage Redesign!

The new redesign of the homepage just took Glow from being five stars to two! I used Glow with my first child and was excited to be using it again with my second. Now, I hate it! I told my sister about Glow as she is currently expecting her first child, but will need to rescind that recommendation. This new redesign is both unattractive as well as inconvenient. Logging information is no longer as easy unless you want it to be a feeding, diaper change, or sleep pattern. I never logged sleep information, but did regularly log pumping sessions. With this new redesign, I can no longer see (without doing the math myself) how long it has been since my last pumping session. I also enjoyed being able to view the overall calendar/daily log from the homepage. Now you have to go to the “analysis” section to find this information. Please just change it back. You have added so many new steps for your consumers to find the same information that was once easily accessible. What was the point of that??? Severely disappointed!

This is a great app has made tracking my newborns feeding and dirty diapers and his sleeping very well . My son is strictly breastfed so you have that option or it does have the bottle option of breast or formula milk . I pump in occasionally too so there’s a section for that as well gives me the option of selecting what Breast and how much oz was pumped from each side . I also like that it has a medication tab which I use to take note when I give him comic drops or his vitamin D drops . It also has to track their emotions like a fussy tab or a crying, happy etc. I really like Glow and the random facts it gives you I like going on the community group to see if what’s going on with my newborn is normal like if I have any concerns . Honestly it’s a great app its just expensive to go premium I believe it’s monthly too that you pay other then that it’s a great app

Mostly Great

I mostly love Glow. It tracks everything I want and it’s simple to use. However, I have a few complaints.

Premium isn’t transferable, so when my husband purchased Premium on his phone, it didn’t do us any good because I’m considered the “primary” user. That means that he can’t add any additional caregivers and we had to double pay so that I can add my mother.

It also doesn’t let one user start the sleep timer and another user finish it. That means that I have to go get my husband’s phone to start her sleeping after her middle of the night bottle because he’s the one who will need to mark her awake in the morning.

Also, it lets you track things like medication, but the medication isn’t available on the “Pattern” screen, only the “List” screen. This is an issue because seeing a symbol on the Pattern screen would make it easy to see at a glance that she’s gotten her meds every day instead of having to scroll back through days and days on the list.

Finally, when I was using the breastfeeding timer, it would let me swipe away to other parts of Glow while the timer was running but not when the timer was paused. This meant that I had to either run the timer while not breastfeeding if I wanted to double check her last nap or diaper or I had to remember how much time she nursed in one side and redo the timer when I went back in.

Overall Glow is better than others I’ve used, but there are some definite drawbacks.

Love Glow! I have been using their app since our TTC journey and Glow Baby has been great now that our little one is here. It's so useful in helping me track feeds, diaper changes, etc. when I am sleep deprived. The interface is also clean. But one complaint is that the ads were a little annoying. So I got the Glow Premium bundle on discount. Highly recommend it for any new mommas out there.

While we were using the free version we had no issues, but the second we purchased the Premium subscription we’ve had nothing but problems. The main issue is seeing updates on the timeline from multiple caregivers. Whenever my husband enters information, I don’t see anything on my timeline until several hours later or the next day. I either have to close out of the app entirely or delete and reinstall the app to see his updates. We contacted the Glow support team for help and beyond telling us to delete/reinstall the app, they have ignored our requests. We finally asked for a refund to our Premium subscription. Since then they have ignored our emails completely. We’ve had ro escalate this issue with our credit card company directly since the app offered a service that we paid for and have not received.
