Acadium: Courses, Internships Reviews

I love Acadium! As a possible future Bachelors in Internet Marketing Major, Acadium has taught me so much valuable info about businesses, social media marketing, etc. The courses are engaging and fun to take, and I take them when I am on the subway or want to learn something interesting. Public school was difficult for me in terms of the style of learning, but Acadium is amazing for people who work well independently, in their own time, and have a thirst and passion for learning about how to make money and be your own boss in the future. Plus, the apprenticeship aspect of Acadium is amazing! I can’t wait to start my first three month apprenticeship with a company, learning about instagram marketing, PR, etc. This is more on track with how the public education system needs to be, and I believe that with all of me. Highly recommend you download Acadium, warning: it may change your life for the better!!!

I think Acadium is hit or miss if you're not going to spend the time to carefully discuss with business owners and try to pick the right apprenticeship. However I think it's an incredible opportunity-builder if used the right way. It's important to also work on the training as well as find an apprenticeship and I would encourage people to complete some training before looking for an apprenticeship since your progress reflects on your profile and can help you get better opportunities. It's easy to skip through the training modules and just redo them until you get them right but I suggest paying attention if it's something you're new to because it's completely free training that will work even for beginners. Acadium opened a lot of doors for me.

I was super excited to get started with GenM, thinking I was a good fit. I’m a small biz owner who does my own marketing ... when I get around to it. I have a wide variety of marketing tasks needed, but was focused on organic list growth and a better blog through a blog calendar and copywriting. My mistake may have been I only contacted small batches of interns (I didn’t want to get overwhelmed with responses. I shouldn’t have worried!) because only about one out of every 5 that expressed interest ever contacted me again. I even got “started” with an intern who kept “working on stuff” but never produced- and after a month sent me an angry and aggressive email that he wasn’t my “errand boy” and wouldn’t be giving me any of the things he promised. What? It’s not like I was sending him for my dry cleaning! I let him pick from the list of what I needed to try to accommodate his schedule, skills and preferences. When I reached out to support, they offered me 50% refund saying I should have “cancelled sooner” if I wanted a full refund. This is not the kind of company I want to do business with. Two thumbs down.

I signed up for GenM believing that I would have an opportunity to apply and grow my digital marketing skills. They advertise an emphasis on mentorship as something that sets it apart from other internships.
I’ve done two “apprenticeships” (one of which I terminated early) and the other I’m only continuing to work with because they are a great company and team. I have found that this is more of a platform for small businesses to get free work rather than an opportunity for students to gain valuable feedback or future job prospects.
The individuals I’ve worked for have no marketing experience and are unable to provide feedback or guidance to help grow my skills. It is fine as a means of experiencing what it’s like to freelance, but when you become the entire marketing department for a company, you should be compensated appropriately.
There needs to be a balance. It felt more like the platform was a cheap way for small businesses to get a free marketing department.

I love this platform! However, there definitely should be thorough checks on the businesses reaching out to apprentices. Some of these “companies” seem sketchy & very homemade. Some businesses don’t look legit at all & we should be able to see mentors credentials before blindingly agreeing to work with them. Some of the mentors just want someone to pick up their slack & exploit because of the free labor. Also, whenever I try to click on my profile through the mobile app, Acadium just goes blank & I'm forced to start it over and view my profile from the website itself. Also this app should give apprentices template messages when we either want to decline certain mentors or introducing ourselves to others. Also please create a space within the platform were apprentices can be social amongst each other & connect to share helpful information.

This opened up a whole new world of opportunity for me. Gives real lessons, a workshop, apprenticeship, and certifications if you keep with it and do well. The advancement is giving me a chance for some awesome opportunities. Of course things here and there need fine tuning but overall greatful I found Acadium. The developers literally made something that just may have changed my life forever as opportunity. And it’s super easy to focus on a lesson if your just hangin out or if your busy. No reason why you can’t get the lessons done. Big thanks to the makers and developers of this app ❤️

I discovered this application early in February. As of then, I successfully completed two courses offered by GenM as well as finished a digital marketing apprenticeship in June. The apprenticeships varies in a variety of fields thus giving more options. I truly enjoy the opportunities it offers and strongly encourage anyone to engage in this application in gaining more experience and knowledge in the marketing field.

GenM is an awesome platform (website). However, I have not been able to use Acadium because I’m having issues with my password (I guess I mistakenly typed wrong keys while inputting my password). Unfortunately, there is no link for password recovery on the login page of Acadium . I’ve tried using the “Help” link in the website but I got referred to Acadium which I am unable to use. I’d appreciate if you could help me recover my password.

The idea of Acadium is really amazing, being able to provide people with internships and somewhere to get experience in marketing. However, the matches you get from people willing to take you on to help you get experience are awful. Some expect you to have all kinds of experience, and don’t even reply to your messages. Or better yet, make you jump through hoops to talk to them. I’ve been on Acadium for over a month now and have yet to find anyone reasonable to get experience with.

I was excited when I first signed up for this - it’s a great concept to connect interns with businesses. However, my experience did not turn out to be a positive one . I spent accumulative of probably 5 plus hours contacting interns, responding etc. I contacted several people from my country ( which was what I was looking for ) and pretty much none of them responded - however, I was inundated by lots of interns from all over the world wanting to connect. Maybe for some people it works, but for our company it resulted in no intern and loss of hours spent searching.

Business owners beware. This may be great for apprentices but once you give them your money, the customer service is awful. I was having issues with the platform that I emailed about for the first 2 weeks, took just about that long for someone to answer me. I’ve also emailed and began conversations with numerous apprentices and when you go to schedule an interview, none respond. Not to mention 90% of these candidates have zero qualifications. It’s been such a waste of time trying to schedule an interview, I requested a refund, and they will not give you one.

Love the concept of GenM but find it hard to actually find candidates as you can’t post a position and attract people interested but you must go through profiles, request a chat, wait to hear, most don’t reply, many ghost quickly after starting the chat, Acadium also only works in part (no matches, no chat) I can only review my profile. Desktop is similarly buggy (never successfully made a call much less video conference through the platform). That said I did find a great apprentice on the platform.

GenM gave me a great introduction into the marketing arena, and facilitated an apprenticeship with my current employer. Their staff are great people and truly want to see others succeed through their program. Their interactive lesson plans are something I will still be incorporating into my learning ongoing. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking to make an impact in the marketing industry!

I am learning digital marketing through Acadium and it is amazing! It’s simple and packed with marketing gems to learn from. I do want to know what happened to the old content that was there last year. Overall it’s one of the best platforms to learn digital marketing

this app App does not work on the latest iPhone. It either doesn’t open, or closes randomly. I’d love to be able to communicate with my apprentices from Acadium , but sadly I have to open safari & do it the old fashioned way.

Acadium is amazing! On the first day I have already made a lot of progress with companies. As a college student or someone looking for professional assistance this is Acadium ! More people should know about this! Only downside is that there are some bugs here and there but overall it’s amazing!

Love Acadium , but the message function doesn’t seem to work. It doesn’t load any messages which makes it unable to connect with businesses. Hope this gets fixed soon. Thanks :)

I actually love the learning connections and Acadium itself. The reason for the 4 is that sometimes there are bugs in the chat that make it difficult for you and your mentor to connect but otherwise perfect app that delivers more knowledge than any other tool/internship out there.

This is the most core naked to the bone hands on experience school you can get in the whole world plus it’s free. Soon before we know it every school in the world is going to follow the leader in education and training GenM.

I learned and experienced a lot thanks to Acadium’s mentor/apprentice program and am still learning so much in the learning sections today.

EDIT after dev response. No I haven’t “only used 10% of Acadium ”. I fully completed several of your lessons. Checked your social media channels. It’s all a gigantic scam wrapped in fancy smoke and mirrors.

Lessons are mostly BS with completely subjective recommendations and best practices backed up by nothing. Acadium collects your email and phone number and spams you restlessly. App Store reviews are hilariously fake. Horrendous.

Hello, I couldn’t find Cantonese, which is my first language, in the language box, and had to choose my second language as my first language. If you offer HongKong as a choice, then please also offer Cantonese as a choice.

Great app, but I ask that you allow us to filter searches in the discover section, I can't find new people.
