Triller: Social Videos & Clips Reviews

this app is a decent app it could use some updates such as… -more filters -a “tutorial” when you first download Triller to show you your way around this app -that not every ten or so clips it tells “Sign Up or Sign In Now!” which gets extremely frustrating over time -there should also be a “kids mode” for kids under the age of 12. -certainly there are other issues that I forgot Overall though, this app is a good social media app even though it may have its flaws. I like using this app a lot more than TikTok but TikTok has more filters than this app. this app should also state that a video/clip/short has explicit language. Other than that Triller is one of the best social media apps I’ve ever tried. So I give it 4/5 if Triller improves I will give it 5 stars.

EDIT: I am extremely thankful for the response from this app’s Team but I will downgrade my rating from 4 stars to 3 stars because of all the “stripper” content that I have seen. It is also extremely stupid to not have something that states shows explicit images/video topic being inappropriate or explicit language. I hope that something to warn viewers before they watch the video will come soon. (If you do add it please don’t make it a pop-up or just add a “Safe Search” sort of thing to filter through inappropriate clips/shorts so each user can decide even if they don’t have a account)

To begin with, yes, I did learn about Triller through H3, however I am not a fan and find Ethan to be overrated. I came after seeing coverage on the Phillip Defranco show and wanting to give Triller a fair try. 10 minutes into my experience and I’m finding this to be too much like tik tok, but without the curation abilities. I will swipe through 10 dancing videos trying to find some comedy, and what do I get? 10 more dancing videos. And when I finally do find something I like and give it a like, do I get more? No. I’m forced to filter through more dancing videos. Maybe it’s just the user difference, but I feel like there are funny users on here that maybe can’t get attention because of Triller settings. I plan to give it more time and see if the algorithm can adjust to my liking, but so far this is such a waste of time when Tik Tok exists and has any content your heart desires. Also, looking into the CEO just based on the DeFranco video, he doesn’t seem like the greatest guy. I’ve seen a lot of the H3 talk, but outside of that and prior to it, he seems to have a scummy history and working with Jake Paul doesn’t help that. Just my opinion, but I think there’s better uses of your time. I will give props to the few creators I’ve found that made me laugh, I hope y’all are able to flourish despite Triller and I will keep an eye for more content.

As a big fan of standup comedy, specifically Kevin Hart, I decided to download Triller after seeing he was promoted as being a creator. Boy was I disappointed to find out that he’s nowhere to be found. After being initially disappointed that Kevin isn’t actually on Triller I decided to still give it a shot since I’ve invested the time into downloading it and that turned out to be a huge mistake. The place is like a ghost town, I’m fairly certain I’m the only fool dumb enough to have been on it trying to browse for content. I decided to look up this company and noticed it’s run by Ryan Kavanaugh (far as I could tell no relation to Brett Kavanaugh the “I like beer” guy) but he does have a striking resemblance to Harvey Weinstein. If you don’t get queasy over inputting your personal data into their system after looking at those 2 side by side you definitely have something wrong with you. After feeling a bit uneasy I decided to put my mind at easy by googling “Ryan Kavanaugh Fraud” and immediately the first result I get is an article from Variety, a pretty trusted source, stating an ex business partner of his is allegedly accusing him of running a Ponzi Scheme! After reading that I immediately deleted everything associated with this man and company. STAY AWAY! You don’t want this guy pulling a Bernie Madoff on you!

Seems like there’s more and more creative control taken with every update. Why are we still not able to control how long each video segment is up until it switches to another take? It completely stifles people’s visions for their videos and makes it much more streamlined than apps like Tik Tok. Stop forcing videos to look a certain way and let people and creator edit how they’d like and Triller might be competitive

Latest update: So now I can’t put an effect on each specific take of a song? The filter or effect now can only be applied to the whole video. Why was this implemented? Why does Triller continue to take away control of how the video can look. I got old trillers that are so fun and edited, now everything seems so generic. Why is more and more control taken away from creators? It’s like you guys are pushing people towards TikTok, which has high levels of editing control. It’s almost insulting how generic Triller has become. Can we please return to the older style where I can put filters on each take so there can be 4-5 different filters in a video. And why are we still not able to control how long the clips are on for? People don’t want Triller to do everything for them, it makes it less fun to play around with

So I haven’t been on this app in a awhile. Before I just used to to create fun and care-free music videos to let loose while being stressed in college. Deciding that I wanted to get back to doing some of the things that made me happy and relaxed I re-downloaded Triller . To my surprise they changed the way they format your videos after recording. Before I would shuffle my videos and it randomly organized the videos with differ time lengths. It made it look like a real music video and matched up with the music. Now when you shuffle your videos, they are all the same time length. It just makes your video look choppy and unorganized. I know before they didn’t have an option to change the length of individual videos when you went to edit but with all these new changes they could have at least added that. I was looking firward to creating agin but now I have to try to find a new app that can give me what I want. Hopefully they can bring back an option on rather to randomize with either the same or different time length or give the option to change the length of each video to match to the sound used. Until then 1 star.

As soon as you download Triller , you see tons of celebrities and music videos, nothing funny or interesting if I am honest. For context, I am an 19 year old. I understand paying celebrities to endorse your app is a great way to get exposure, but the average teenager does not want to see 35 year old celebrities endorsing their products/music videos. After a while of scrolling I realized that the only way to find relevant content to me is to search a hashtag for something I am interested in. The search feature is incredibly slow and laggy and the video previews sometimes don’t load at all. Triller overall feels like a boring compilation of celebrities and brand advertisements & is pretty slow. I have an iPhone 13 pro max and I feel as though Triller isn’t up to par- technically speaking. If you want teenagers on your app to compete with other short clips apps, consider reevaluating the content shown to us when we first download Triller . First impressions are crucial. I see potential in Triller but it’s not there yet.

I find Triller very similar to tiktok in many ways, some have said it’s a nock off version of it and I see why, look at the page of what tiktok would call fyp or following, it looks almost the exact same and tiktok/ musically has been around a little longer. Many people have said they want the old version back before it was a mini tiktok or before it became mainstream. I don’t mean to be harsh but I am including what others have said as well. Another problem that comes in with this is they only show popular creators in a way the small creators wouldn’t even have a good chance of being seen on this. All of this being said I have nothing against this app and hope it continues to do well but I wish that it would change back to what everyone wants and not be so similar to tiktok. I am a tiktok user myself and don’t think I will put more time onto Triller but for the people that like it I hope you can get what you want and have Triller that you liked back. All of this being said I have nothing against Triller or it’s creators.

I’ve had Triller for a little while now, I admit it was cool to see Triller in the beginning grow with its competitors out there. But, I had a change of heart, I noticed while using Triller, I’ve been having some weird issues, some of which made made feel very uncomfortable. I know Triller collects data, but since installing Triller, I got so many random phone calls from people with odd phone numbers, and even started getting random people in public come to my house. I know this could be random, but the whole time I had Triller, those strange things happened. Triller within itself started to get very boring, and not as useful as I wanted it to be (TikTok changed that for me). I sent tweets to get help, emails and etc but this company doesn’t care. They just want your money and oh the ads, I think Triller was made to not click the “X” on the ads so that they can continue to play. I seriously don’t suggest Triller to anybody that wants their privacy respected. On the Upside of things from this very flipped app, more apps are available that will keep your attention.

I’m not the biggest fan of TikTok but I like the overall idea of sifting through short video content. I wanted to find something similar (huge fan of Vine). Triller sounded within the realm of what I was looking for and I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. This is just Tik Tok but worse. It literally has “For You” and “Following” sections at the top. Triller just straight up copied TikTok except it has a dated interface and not as many of the good features TikTok does has. The first time I tried making a video myself, Triller just crashed. 😒 I also don’t understand how the algorithm works on this app (or if it even has a way to curate an algorithm for me) because all I get are dancing videos and I hate it. It’s truly awful. I hate tiktok but I’m choosing that over this.

Side note: was super surprised to see it had a 4.6 rating in Triller Store, but when I sifted through the reviews there was an insane amount of very negative 5 star reviews. So it seems like people are accidentally giving this 5 stars a lot of the time. This rating is not accurate.

Listen, i’ve been around. I’ve downloaded this app a handful of times and always ended up removing it from my phone because i couldn’t understand it and just didn’t enjoy it. Before, I honestly would have given this app a fair 2 stars, but, I made the gruesome mistake of re-downloading it for the sake of this review. Triller is horrible. The layout is vomit inducing. Why is there a merch button. Also, I went to download one of the videos on Triller and it took a full minute to download. Triller resembles tik tok so much that i thought it would at least be able to download videos in 10 seconds or less but no, it took a full minute. I. Cant. Stand. This. App. i’m getting frustrated. i cant stop the download. nothing i can do. but sit there. for a full. minute. Why me, God? Why. ME. at the end of the download it asked to access my photos and videos and to be honest i hesitated. i did. i cant lie to you. but i let them in. i’m scared honestly. After my five minute experience i had to delete Triller . i was miserable and reaching the lowest point in my life. don’t use Triller.

App has many glitches , quality of videos looks blurry (even with great wifi) usually takes a while to adjust and even then the videos still look unclear for the first half while playing ( that’s your uploads and videos of others) . it would be nice if the apps community tab was like tiktok it’s useful to see everyone’s videos , not just vertified influencers in the front of all pages it makes it like ig In a way and not as inviting to the entire community . App also takes a while to upload your videos ... as well as glitches at times when you attach something from your camera roll , it won’t even show up to edit it .. as if you didn’t choose an attachment at all , over all app could be better if glitches were fixed and were more inviting to community not just influencers . I really enjoy how tiktok shows you many different videos . I’d also like to add I had this app when Triller first came out and it wasn’t as glitchy

As many other reviews have mentioned yes this is literally just a knock off tik tok. I found that tik tok has gotten toxic so I thought to maybe try this replica. What’s frustrating about it is none of the videos recommended are funny, many in foreign languages. It also seems like majority of videos posted are people just trying to post their mediocre music. It doesn’t seem like many people use Triller either as 90% of the videos on my feed have 0-100 likes on them. Even the verified users get less than 500 views, it’s disappointing. The first videos I see should be the apps top videos and the funniest ones, I don’t get how anyone could stay on Triller for longer than 5 minutes. Even when I refresh the feed I get a few new videos but a lot are repeats of the same videos. The layout is an exact replica of tik tok, yet it is way worse. Extremely lazily made app. Anyone working on this should just put their energy into creating something original, this is never going to be as successful as tik tok and it’s just poorly run. Annoying.

Why make changes. the last version, as well as those prior were way better, before, when you searched for an artist or song, that’s exactly what the search revealed. Now when you search, it’s a million other unnecessary songs totally irrelevant to your search, before, a search would reveal all of the songs from the artist, then near the end, you may have some songs related to your search. Now you have to scroll for days hoping to find what you’re looking for, & It’s annoying. The videos are shorter, they use to be 30 seconds, now they’re 16. The filters often disappear during playback. I do like how u can permanently set your account to “private” in settings, yet you have to select “private” every time you save & download which defeats the purpose. You also have to choose a category, before saving your vid, like for what. this app was everything when it was first launched, It’s cool though. I still use it, but as the saying goes,
“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” If it was up to me, I’d still have one of the older versions.

I was very shocked to learn this, as I was excited to dive into the world of this app. Ryan Kavanaugh, who runs it, is such a terrible human being. Seriously, google him. He got sued by his night nurse for like $175k or something. How does that even happen??? He stiffs his employees on payments too. No wonder he has to resort to Ponzi schemes. I’m sure his shady dealings definitely translate into Triller operations, although that’s just my assumption. As soon as I found all that out, I immediately deleted Triller , as I don’t feel comfortable handing my personal data to someone with that sort of background. I would recommend everyone else do the same.

That said, I did use Triller for a bit before I deleted it and yo… this app the thing is flipped. It just feels like a total TikTok knockoff but with less content and with half of their big content creators surrounded by concerning controversy. I don’t really see the point of Triller existing to be honest. 1 star app. If I could give it .5 I would (the .5 is for getting onto Triller store).

this is a terrible app. it’s like a ghost town. it should literally be called ghost town but I think there are more citizens in a ghost town than users on Triller. I would rather rip out every single one of my eyelashes than go on Triller again. I would rather throw my phone on a highway than use Triller again. I would rather go swimming with hungry sharks than use Triller again. I would rather eat canned tuna for the rest of my life than use Triller again. Shouldn’t even be called an app, it’s a chore. Triller is literally only used by famous people to make money, like a chore. Terrible app. Doesn’t even deserve to be on Triller Store. The only person who I could see actually using Triller is Donald Trump, because he’s horrible and banned from everything else. I feel like I deserve compensation for ever even downloading this on my phone. Do not use Triller, I’m telling you this because I care about you, do not use it. Life is not the same after seeing this train wreck of an app. Horrible, terrrible, app. It’s a monstrosity.

So I downloaded Triller and want to give my honest review of Triller. I had high hopes as they market it as a tik tok dupe but it was nowhere near as good of an app. As soon as I downloaded Triller I realized my thing was flipped! How am I supposed to do the “woah” properly if my thing is flipped!!1! When I realized this I started to go into a full blown panic attack. My body broke out in hives and I couldn’t breathe properly and I started projectile vomiting. I had to be brought to the hospital!! All because of this stupid this app app. I had thousands in medical bills 🤒 When I started to do some research on who I could contact from this app to ask about medical bill coverage, I stumbled upon the name Harvey,,, I mean Ryan Kavanaugh….. to my horror i see a variety article titled “Ryan Kavanaugh accused by ex partner of running a Ponzi scheme”. When I found out that the owner of this app, the VERY SAME COMPANY that SENT ME TO THE HOSPITAL from using their FLIPPED APP,,,, it alllll made sense. I started to put together the puzzle pieces and found out that………everything really is connected…… 🧿🔮✨

i am VERY concerned for the safety of the MINOR CHILDREN posting nude or almost completely nude content on your app without ANY intervention from moderators. naturally this is or was marketed to children, but a lot of adults have found there way here. i will not disclose information of this girl publicly, but she posted a video in which she was at least topless, however it was censored. another minor child (also, for ages, they are roughly 11 or so for both. that already violates your guidelines.) was seen posting uncensored pictures of her private parts for a brief frame. and scrolling through the comments and seeing (mostly) older men and women encourage their behavior, ask to message them, or complimenting how “sexy” these LITERAL children are makes me feel disgusted, sick to my stomach. i had expectations, naturally. not high ones. but somehow this still managed to not even meet them.

please do something about your moderators, they are not doing their job to the best of their ability. work it out.

as for other concerns, these children can easily be groomed, used, and abused online via Triller due to the, quite frankly, overly lax disciplinary actions taken to protect them. i don’t want to make them seem completely incapable of protecting themselves, but often they can be pressured into sharing personal information such as their address.

So Triller is a really good alternative to apps like tik tok but it’s still full of bugs and glitches and features missing. The big feature is messaging. PLEASE fix and implement your private message feature. I’ve messaged people and it wouldn’t load me in. Then with a recent update I see that you can’t message anyone at all for some reason. The next feature is to fully save videos to your camera roll. Other apps let you and so should this app. If there’s a funny video I want to send to my friend I want to easily do it by saving the full video to my camera roll. The third feature is a request system. I have many times requested and asked a user to make specific videos and I think they aren’t seeing my comments. This request system would fix that by letting commenters privately request whatever video they want. These features would definitely make Triller even better. Thank you.

My friends and I were curious how Triller compared to TikTok. So, I decided to download it on my phone. As soon as I opened Triller it was SUPER laggy and thought it was my internet. I unplugged my router (I tend to have a lot of problems with my internet) and reset it, that did not work. The videos kept freezing and the quality of the videos looked like they were filmed on a toaster. I continued to try to go through Triller and it was just promos of C-list celebrities' music. I tried to find original content from ordinary people who use this app and couldn't find anything of the sort. It's just a sad app for celebs, who are only on there because they are getting paid. It doesn't have a community of actual people. Don't get Triller if you are trying to find people to create original content with. It is just a bootleg version on TikTok. Keep in mind all these issues took me less than a minute to find. If I could give this 0 stars, I would. I do not recommend it.

I don’t get all of the positive reviews, I had Triller for 30 minutes, maybe an hour and I was completely disappointed.
I honestly do not understand the hype. Triller reminds me strongly of TikTok, Snapchat, and Byte all clashed together into one app and it’s just a mess. The navigation was difficult and it didn’t feel like it was its own app, which I think is why it was so unenjoyable.
There is a certain fluidity that TikTok has captured and that I think this app was an attempt to recreate but it doesn’t work, and it doesn’t feel the same, more like a poorly made spin-off.

Anything you clicked was kind of weird- like, you would click on something and it would have a weird transitioning effect and the only content was ‘verified’ accounts, which was also very disappointing. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely understand Triller is trying to gain traction by endorsements from popular creators but at the very least they could throw in a single video of someone who doesn’t have a following.
I will say that perhaps I’m judging it to harshly, but I feel as though Triller just doesn’t feel like its own and I am reminded of TikTok. I get that’s the whole point, but it’s kind of like Vine a certain group of people got to enjoy it and then it was gone.
Byte didn’t work out because they were trying to replace something that just simply couldn’t, or more so shouldn’t, be replaced. I think that’s the case here too.

So... my phone started playing music then kept going to other music and stuff while it was off and I wasn’t touching it,it was all the way across the room and I was on my I pad so I went over to it and started to see what that was so I went to all my apps that played music and stopped the music and then the music started again and it just kept going to different music and stuff so then I turned off my phone and turned it back on and it stopped for about 20-25 seconds then it started back up and it wouldn’t stop so I went to this app and just swiped up and down and then I clicked off Triller and that’s the music that was playing so then I went on instagram and swiped then it played a mix of both music I was so lost so then I started to delete all my apps then when I deleted this app it stopped and then I downloaded it back and it never did it again lol but it was kinda funny tho 😂

Theres something wrong with that app. Me and my boyfriend boyfriend both experienced this a few times. It plays music without Triller even being open. It woke me up in the middle of the night playing songs. It goes through them too. Like more than one song plays. Like its swiping through the this app videos playing songs. Triller wasnt even open at all. I closed all my apps and it still played. The first time this happened I was confused and I thought someone hacked my phone, here it was Triller . So I deleted it. Then a day after the second time it happened to me, it happened to my boyfriend. It woke him up in the middle of the night so he starts calling me. So he had to delete Triller . Its either you delete Triller or keep the music playing because restarting your phone doesnt even help it just continues. Please fix this because I actually really like Triller and I used it a lot.

So, I was making a this app, Just like all people on Triller basically do. I finish making the this app and I’m now editing the video. When I’m editing, it crashes numerous of times and then, I just leave Triller load it back on then I go to my profile because it saves every this app in its progress if you close Triller ... so I then proceed to go to the video and I’m trying to post it.

It says, creating video and it has a loading symbol that doesn’t have nothing in it like, it’s not even loading. So then it does this for like 3 seconds and then it crashes. I don’t know if this is a bug or if there’s just something with my phone that is just not caught up with Triller and it’s just not working but this is very, VERY annoying and I wish that this doesn’t keep happening but, unfortunately it keeps happening.

I loved this app!! But after today not anymore! this app has always been a great app and I’ve made many great memories and videos on that app. Unfortunately, today I was trying to use Triller and every time I went on it, it was just a black screen. I then tried to delete Triller and then reinstall it but it did not work. There wasn’t a black screen anymore, and I could see some videos but when I tried logging back into my account it kept saying there was an INTERNAL SERVER ERROR (500)!! And then when I tried to click on someone else’s account it would crash and take me out of the account!!! I’m very disappointed in Triller! I loved it so much and this is what it does! Like come on!! Whoever created Triller needs to do a way better job at doing THEIR job!!!

Okay ever since Tik Tok bought Musically I hated it. The camera was weird and transitions were harder to do. A Muser now uses Triller so I installed it hoping to get that old musically feel. Haha wrong. I like it but your camera is weird. It looks normal at first but then it flips around and makes me look weird and it’s all wrong. I’m used to holding the button in and playing/stopping the music whenever I please, this counts down and to my knowledge you can’t stop and do transitions, I do like that you can connect Apple Music to it and use your songs but the camera needs some work. I like it so far but I hate the camera system. If that changes I will definitely post my Trillers.

I downloaded Triller expecting to be able to use my own music from Apple Music for my videos. It gave me the option to choose whether or not I wanted this app to access my music and I clicked on allow. However each time I click on “My Music” it says “No results found”. So then I thought to delete Triller and wait a couple hours and download it again, which is exactly what I did. So I go back to my account and click on my music and the same result happened: “No results found”. I really wanted to use Triller because my cousin explained how fun it was especially when using her own music but, I guess I’ll find another app.

Okay, so long story short....my dad wouldn’t let me have TikTok so yeah...I tried this and just WOW I only had this for like uh a couple seconds...but I love it! It’s just WOW no words. It’s just like TikTok (I still don’t have it...it’s just cuz I watched it on my big sisters phone and she lives at her collage so she ain’t have to listen) and I don’t really feel left out anymore. Thanks for making Triller make me feel not left out also, thank you for reading my ridiculous review lol.

Triller is amazing it always know how to make me feel good I get high before all my basketball games it’s fun to jam out with my friends do crazy stuff it’s just it’s a great app shut up I’m trying to write a review on I love it so much I totally suggest you get it on 10 out of 10 great job on Triller for Reminders thank you so much love you guys peace

I used to have Triller and I really enjoyed it but now it won’t let me save ANY of my videos, I’ve tried to make at least 5-10 and every-time Triller glitches out when I try to publish. I’m not sure if it’s just me but I really wish it would work because my trillers used to be fire and I’m salty that I can’t make them anymore. I already tried re-downloading Triller but it still doesn’t save my videos without Triller crashing,, I’m frustrated and annoyed!

I have an iPhone 6, not sure if that’s the problem but all my videos crash before even able to save it then if I can save it, it crashes again before I can download it. This past weekend I tried multiple times, restarting Triller , restarting my phone and it kept crashing. I deleted Triller and re downloaded it (this worked before) but nothing!!! It even crashed before I was able to try to save my video. I use this for my business on IG and it’s frustrating when I can’t get the video to save and download. Now I’m left with no recording. Need to find another app that works. Super disappointed and frustrated

For some reason now the screen on the right under “edit videos” makes it impossible to delete videos because the delete button is now buried under another two buttons. When this happens I have to start from scratch and make sure I like what I’ve imported because it’s there for good. Never use to be this way. This only seems to happen when the phone decides to rotate to landscape mode, leaving less vertical space on the right side of the screen. Really frustrating.

sooo i updated Triller and my camera isn’t working when i start to record..i didn’t know if it was Triller or my phone so i went to the camera app and my camera worked perfectly fine so then i went back to Triller to see if it worked and it didn’t 🙄 so i restarted Triller and my phone but yet it still didn’t work soo I dont know what’s wrong...like I dont know if it’s bug but i don’t want to delete Triller and put it back on there cuz i’m scared it’s gonna delete my stuff so. but it seems like i’m not the only 😭

So Triller allows you to create a video and edit it (which is amazing.......or so I thought) but once I tried to download the video it notified me that I needed to create an account and validate my email address. Okay, cool. Right? Ehh, wrong! It gives you the option of creating an account through various ways, which I did EVERY SINGLE ONE, and still kept getting an “error 500” notification after every attempt. It also gave me a time out connection notification, but my data was and is working just fine elsewhere. I liked Triller at first but now it’s just a waste of space. Throw the whole app away 🚮🤷🏼‍♀️👎🏼

My friend told me about Triller, so I listened and got it. I like musically, they’re fun to make, and she said it’s like that. When I got it..it was just confusing. I had no clue how to make a video, and when I finally figured how to make one, it looked super bad and it just was not that fun. I mean looking at others trillers are fun, but making your own and being proud of it is what I wanted to do. I’d recommend musically over this. More simple and way easier to figure out. I give this a two because the only part I enjoyed was watching other people who were actually good at them. Not the best app, prefer musically and I think you’d prefer it too. 💯
