I love KakaoT, and have used it on multiple times to grab a taxi or bike. KakaoT is quite straightforward and easy to understand. However, the overall accuracy of the location and status of each bike could be improved. I usually have to try out 3 bikes at least to find one that is actually in its place, and sometimes it is already being unlocked by someone else. Perhaps you could add a reserve feature, because on a hot day spending 30 minutes outside trying to find the 6th or 7th bike can be very frustrating.

I strongly believe this is the most app I love in korea. It is very convenient and easy to use even if you don’t have Korean language skills.

Every time I am visiting Korea I use Kakao taxi. Only problem is that I usually get the data only sim card from the airport which has no voice calling. And KakaoT ask for a Korea phone number and sometimes the cab driver will call you if they can't find you. It would be easier if app allows users uses Kakao ID and Kakao talk only to register and call as well.

I’ve called drivers multiple times but could not find a driver. Later, by chance, I saw my call destination was shown in English on driver’s screen. This explains why I could not find a driver when my friends could. Also, please allow to select language from settings.

Going home from work, I have to stop at the daycare to pick up my kids but there’s no option to do that, at least on the English side.

It seems KakaoT automatically shows the content in the default language of the iOS the user is using. It would be great to allow users to choose in which language they can see the menu, location names,etc. (e.g. even if a user has set English as the default iOS language, he/she may want to see local addresses, shop names, etc. in Korean)

I was injured by a careless driver and there's no way to report it. While still in transit there was a report option, but once the ride finished that option was immediately gone. I was going to report it as soon as ride finished. The driver review section limits what you can say, so I couldn't write the details there. Normally I love Kakao Taxi, but this has left me frustrated and the driver's actions have left me in a lot of pain.

Solid app overall. Only recommendation is putting in a translator to interpret what drivers are texting you. I would screenshot then upload into Google translate to figure it out. Would absolutely use KakaoT again

KakaoT will request Korean phone number to use. Was in Seoul in business trip and tried to install on work phone. USA phone number, service provider is Verizon. Had an overseas data package active on the account, so that the phone would work overseas.

Anyhow, could not proceed past “enter phone number” page in the setup process.

FYI, almost impossible to hail a taxi without using KakaoT in Seoul.

App itself is very useful, but most of notice is in Korean , and some Chinese on notification tab… not sure why the languages are all mixed up.

Don’t expect to call a taxi on rush hour with this. Taxi drivers are free to ignore request without limit unlike uber. Just put a temporary ban on drivers who ignore more three times or something, I don’t see why can’t they just implement such a simple thing.

When uber and lyft comes in korea KakaoT will burn in trash day one

The system is breaking down. Drivers don't respond. Been this way for months now. Useless. Drivers tell me it is because customers cancel after calling a cab because they take another cab. Kakao needs to impose a 1,000-won fee for cancellation to reduce this abuse.

KakaoT worked fine until recently, but the latest update isn't compatible with my phone, despite it being a model and software version it claims to support, and it will no longer let me use an older version of KakaoT . Now it's literally useless to me.

Love KakaoT , would love it more if it offered multiple languages (especially English).

Convenient and easy to use! It is very foreigner friendly.

Pros: easily order a taxi almost anywhere in Korea
Cons: occasionally freezes when ordering, and interface is only in Korean ...

Great application, makes it super easy to get a taxi especially when not speaking Korean. It will be even more useful if it had English version!

If you know how to read and type basic Korean.

Slow and you can no longer order more than 1 cab. No longer useful and the gps is not accurate. No, it doesn’t work in the korean version either. Fix this and maybe I will change my review.

Kakao app is a monopoly that has grown fat and inefficient to the extent is doesn’t care about it’s consumer and only cares about it’s share price and profit numbers. They collect so much personal information and share it with the Korean socialist government. This is not a good platform.
