Wlingua - Learn Spanish Reviews

I was looking for an app where I could revisit Spanish grammar and build my vocabulary but I don’t have time for a University class. I studied years ago and studied abroad, however, I could not practice for many years for personal reasons. Wlingua (and, of course other forms of studying) have moved me back into an intermediate level where I actually have conversations with Spanish speakers. I love that it tested me to see where I should start. Babbel and Duolingo did not do this and it drove me crazy starting with Hola in Duolingo and poking around Babbel to see what exactly I should study while wasting time on skills I already had. I really hope that by the time I finish B1 Wlingua creates a B2. It is such an addiction.

I am very happy I tried this course because they explain everything. So often in other courses you are supposed to just memorize and that doesn't work for me. I need to know why! I really love the lessons because of that. I am going further and I feel more confident speaking because I am using the correct verbs etc. I teach school and many of my students are Spanish speakers. It's been hard trying to communicate when I am not sure if I am saying the verbs and tenses correctly. I still have a long way to go, but so far I am very happy working my way through the lessons.

I used duolingo, busuu and a few others too. I like the approach of this app because it TEACHES!!. All others trick you to believe you are learning as you’re playing games snd answering silly questions. this app hands down does TEACH with grammar lessons. Take a notebook and pen and study snd you will INDEED learn. However it is missing many of the whistles and bells such as social networking, real pronunciation etc. No problem but given that it is too expensive I cannot see why I should continue this app. The price they charge is not justified given that it lacks many features other apps have. this app should be 50% less expensive like other apps. Otherwise I will buy a grammar book for 15$ and study it.

So far, I've really enjoyed Wlingua. It has a lot of material yet keeps the fun of learning intact.

Pros: It has the option to learn Mexican Spanish (not many apps have this) which is what I'm interested in. The price is very reasonable for what you get. The audio of the Spanish speakers is very good. The coarse material is extensive and has a good mix of grammar, reading, and writing.

Cons: There are typos occasionally that need to be fixed. It would be nice if there was an easy user feedback to help correct these. There are occasionally true/false questions that can't actually be answered with the information given. Similar to, "Joe is a teacher. Joe speaks Spanish." True or false: Joe is a Spanish teacher." I file these under "not enough info."

All in all, the pros far out way the cons. It is one of the best Spanish learning apps I've come across and I use it very day.

this app is by far the best Spanish app I have tried.
I have gone through all the lessons on Doulingo and another more formal app, and tried many others. They all are either very formal and good at explaining the language but have limited content; Or have zero explanation of why words mean what they mean and you just have to figure it out by trial and error (Douligo and the like).
this app is the best of both worlds.
It is fun and easy to follow AND it explains why things are the way they are.
This is good for adult learners who are beginners. this app uses simple common words and progresses them intuitively. When I understand something then I am more likely to remember it and can apply it to other situations which makes learning faster.
This is the first app I will consider paying extra for once the free portion expires.

After a few lessons of free version, I paid for the full version. I do one lesson a day. Every lesson gives a chance to review some previous learnt vocabulary. The grammar part is explained simply and clearly. The reading part reflects the grammar and words taught in the lesson. The exercises strengthen the memory again. My prior experience with Spanish is only through Rosetta Stone. Wlingua is a great next stage learning tool for me.

Wlingua has made learning Spanish a lot of fun! It also isn't a memorization game, they really teach you rules and applications. I love the reading exercises! The only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 is because I have run into some words that are incorrect or statements that do not mean what is given for the translation. Other than that, Wlingua is wonderful! And so convenient to be able to switch between my phone and tablet, so I can do exercises at home and reviews on the go.

I have tried many apps including the most popular and famous Duolinguo but didn’t like it because I feel it lacks structure in learning and ample explanations. this app on the other hand has helped me tremendously to improve and strengthen my knowledge very effectively. I have studied more than 400 lessons and will continue. Love it.

Wlingua is like taking a mini Spanish course! I’m studying Spanish @ university & I’ve been taking classes forever. I didn’t want start over, but Wlingua lets you take assessment to place you where you need to be! Love it, wish I knew of it sooner. It really goes into detail and has lots of exercises to help you.

This is a wonderful app that teaches vocabulary, grammar, and idiomatic language uses of both Spanish and Latin American dialects, making sure the learner has sufficient opportunity to practice and absorb the material. My only concern is that essential aspects of proficiency like past and future tenses are not introduced until quite late. Is this, I wonder, a tactic to keep students in the course and have them pay longer?

Wlingua is very good, however the customer service is nonexistent. I purchased a six month upgrade on May 11 and still have not received the upgrade. I have sent two emails to this app customer support and have not received a response. I wll be forced to cancel the purchase and get a refund from Apple.

I have tried many different Spanish apps to supplement my learning. I have found this to be better than most, and at a reasonable price. It covers vocabulary, reading comprehension, and grammar. I have come a long way thanks to this app. I highly recommend it to anyone dedicated to learning Spanish.

This is a fantastic language app. I have learned an incredible amount in a very short time. I have found Wlingua to be easier than other apps I have tried in the past. The entire program is very well thought out.

I have many language apps and this is one of my favorites. Thank you for covering all the linguistic bases!
After learning with Wlingua for over a month it has shown to be far more educational than the following:
Babel, Duolingo,Busuu,fluencia,Roseta stone, drops, Memrise,EWA etc... (yes I have tried them all... and some I haven’t listed)
If you want to work on pronunciation try Falou and reading Beelinguapp

Best attribute: Explanations! It teaches, then it tests.

I've been studying Spanish for a couple years now, but I decided to start at the beginning with this course. I'm glad I did. The first few lessons explained things that I've been wondering about forever (for instance: ese/aquel), so I felt it was worth it.

Most frustrating: There are mistakes! Not a lot, but enough to frustrate me occasionally. Some of the translated sentences are wrong. And often in the questions after the reading, there will be a statement that needs a true rather than a false or vice-versa.

I will continue to use it. Four stars.

This is a great app, fun to just sit and study for twenty minutes or so in the morning. You do need to pay for the full version for it to be of much use. It's no substitute for a private tutor but it is a really good way to stay in touch and learn at your own pace. Excellente 😊

I love the assessments/quizzes they provide, giving me all the time to use my knowledge instead of letting my newly learned Spanish vocabulary drift away from me.
I love the lessons amount and how the prices are fair for the amount they give.

I do feel like some of the words are translated wrong but other than that Wlingua is amazing I like how they don't only choose words from the lesson that you're doing it on they bring back where is that was in your previous lessons

I found this app after essentially finishing Duolingo and Memrise. Neither of those apps go out of their way to teach the rules, which is liberating. But it's refreshing to find an app that takes a classroom approach after so much liberty. this app would be better if it forced learners to produce sentences.
