Updated: I just love it

Update: Monica got back to me right away and all I needed to do was click “restore purchases” a few times to trigger communication with FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor Store. BOOM! I’m now a Pro Member like Im supposed to be. Easy peasy. So that said and done if they decide to add nutrition logging to FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor , which I hope they eventually do, I’ll change this to a five star rating.

FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor is great. I love it. It has almost all the features I need and want and some I didn’t even know I wanted. It sucked me in with the free trial and I was instantly hooked. Everything was simple to understand. The layout is fresh, easy to maneuver and, my favorite part, editable. So there’s nothing that I see that I don’t want to and there’s nothing that I can’t see that I do want to. However, one day I woke up and my free trail was over. Boom! I was a free member and none of those amazing features were usable. So I gladly paid for the yearly membership. Who wouldn’t? FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor is incredible! Well, take my word for it and be cautious. Pay for a month first and see if it works because it didn’t for me. The only feature it gave me was nutrition. Everything else is saying I need to upgrade. So I basically just paid ten dollars for what I already have to input into a free app anyway. Smh. I’m disappointed to say the least and hope that my ticket gets responded to promptly because I don’t like paying full price for a fraction of a product.

Maps (GPS) doesn’t work.

I’ve tried every which way to get the GPS to work and create a route on a map and it simply doesn’t work on my Apple ecosystem. I can do it with other running apps (no problems) but FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor really gives me issues with this particular area. Reaching out to customer support gets you a formatted response to “Please restart your device(s) including the iPhone and Apple Watch as a first troubleshooting step. Reinstalling FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor from FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor Store can also solve a variety of install issues including lagging, crashings, or missing data.” I don’t want to restart my watch and iPhone and reinstall FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor every timed my before a simple workout. That takes too much time and NEVER have to do this with other running apps to get a map of my outdoor workout. Until they resolve this issue, they only get 3 stars from me.

Follow up: This is a terrible app developer. I joined their FB groups and was kicked off of two of them due to me making negative comments about how bad FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor is and confirming with other people about their own problems with the FITIV app, especially in the running exercise space. If you’re using it for running, there are so many better options. You can still use FITIV as secondary app (for the pretty graph)but I would not rely in it as a primary app for data.

With series 4 watch this almost replaces Garmin

I love this program and the new Apple watches and I really want to leave my Garmin and iPhone at home. FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor now has the gps accuracy to match all my know routes to within the same approximate standard deviation as my Garmin did. The only thing that still forces me to bring the Garmin is lack of a watch display field choice for split pace. Any serious runner trying to control pace needs this. Instant pace is too under damped and average to overdamped and targeting a certain pace for a given mile / split can’t be done without knowing what the current average value has been up to the current point in the mile. I am a member of 3 running clubs and this is the most common metric all the runners I know use, I’m shocked it’s missing (Strava app does have it but lacks a lot of other things). This has to be so trivial to add ... please consider it.
Update: Very responsive developer ... changed rating to 5 stars do to visible progress

Almost perfect. Love the focus on heart rate

This is a great workout/running app. I’ve waited for a little over a month to review to get a good feel for FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor .

I love the user interface and plenty of customizable options within FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor . There are also plenty types of workouts to choose from. If you can’t find the workout you’re looking for, you’re able to create one. The graphics are great and easy to read while on the move. I also love that the graphics are heart rate centric with other pertinent info around it.

The only drawback is I would love if they included a heart rate zone based training program— with LIVE heart rate based coaching. I had the adidas MiCoach system before and loved the way they integrated live coaching based on your heart rate zone. Each day was different, easy days...tough red zone days. The intervals kept it interesting and made me a better runner, while also helped with bursts of speed and becoming more athletic. I sent feedback to the team but unfortunately did not get a response. Ultimately, I signed up for their premium subscription and hope to see that feature added in the future.

Want to like it but cycle miles aren’t showing

I love the interface, the customizations , the watch display, etc. But the one item I want to see on the dashboard is cycling miles! It’s available in the list but when added, refuses to show any data though! When I look at individual workouts, the data is in FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor . Mileage is accurate in the workout view. It’s also the same for cycling pace. Switch to dashboard and its blank - just placeholder dashes. I would like to be able to view cycling data in the dashboard view as the dashboard is extremely useful. All the heart rate and heart range data is absolutely gorgeous. So there’s so much to love here, except for the fact that my most desired metrics refused to display in the main view I hope to see.

I contacted the developer 3 days ago. I received an email saying that they have a ticket on the item but have had no reply since then. I have reinstalled with no fix. Again, let me say if it would display the specific data I wanted, I would rate this as the absolute best app for cycling I’ve ever used. It beats Strava hands down in my opinion.

Great tracker, but missing features

I have been using this for a couple of weeks now and I love all of the info and tracking information it gives, but there are some features I wish would be included in future updates. There is no lap button feature. Sometimes running it is nice to know time splits at different distances and a lap feature would take care of this. There is also no function to track distances in your work and rest intervals. It is just a continuous distance. For example, an 8:00 run with a 4:00 rest/recovery. It would be nice to know the distances for each piece. Lastly, it would be nice to have multiple work and rest times in a single workout. As is, you can only set a single work period and rest period that can be repeated. You can’t create varied work or rest intervals. As of now you have to run a separate timer along with FITIV. It should be built into FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor . Great app and despite some shortcomings it is still my activity tracker of choice.

Best app for running and cycling

I’ve tried just about every major running and cycling app out there and I must say that this is the best hands down. The main reason is the fantastic Apple Watch integration. The Apple Watch shows 6 metrics at once! I choose to show HR, HR Zone, Duration, Calories, Split Pace and Total Pace but you can customize the display and choose any 6 metrics that you want to see. Most other apps will only show 3-4 metrics at most on your watch. You can even have some of these metrics voiced every so often you don’t even have to look at your watch. The heart rate analysis you get is also top notch and I believe the best one currently on the market. After your workout you will see a map of your course, which will show what parts your HR was the highest and where you were the fastest. Like I said, it’s the best workout app out there and I’ve tried just about all of them.

My Favorite Fitness App

I have quite a few fitness apps that I use and I can say I enjoy fitness. When I signed up for this I thought it would mimic the health app for the Apple Watch. In some ways (color scheme) it did. Little did I know, however, the functionality would be far greater than what I would expect. I can sync FITIV to multiple fitness apps (pretty much a given). I can also create, modify, and edit exercises before, during and after an activity. I love the collective data information given about your exercise (target HR, usage %, Total vs Active calories burned, duration, gps and non-god distance, pacing, etc etc etc). This is the only app I use for my fitness activities now. It did not take me long at all to purchase FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor after starting the trial. It was well worth it and I would gladly do it again!

Needs iWatch workout app to function accurately.

I love that I can use FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor to visualize my heart rate percentages. But a flaw I have found is that the heart rate monitoring is MUCH more accurate when you begin a workout in the native iWatch workout app as well as a workout in the MotiFIT app. For some reason when I reach approximately 85% of my max HR, FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor will read my heart as 1/2 of what it really is. For example when my heart rate is 160. FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor will read 80 unless I have both workouts running. It's almost as if the motifit app doesn't continuously check heart rate as well as the native iWatch workouts app. I have noticed though that when ending both workouts, only the motifit workout is added to my iOS Health app since that is the workout that I had open and monitored while working out. As a side note I have been tracking heart rates during my Spin class for 50-60 minutes. Battery loss on iPhone and iWatch are both minimal.

I love this app!

I am a OC and dragon boat paddler and FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor has been incredible! First of all most apps don’t even have a paddler option for workouts- mostly running and indoor machines. 1. The graphics and layout are fun and easy to read. Which is nice when you are trying to gather data on your workouts. I hate an ugly app. 2. Easily links to my heart monitor, whether it’s my Apple Watch or the strap. 3. The voice option is perfect when I’m out on the water ... I link to my headphones to my phone and during training, FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor will tell me my heart rate, calories burned, distance, etc. which is valuable when you have to know what your body is doing and how to push it or ease up. 4. Completely worth the money. FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor has dramatically helped my training and I tell everyone about it.

Almost Great

Love FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor ! Great customization—can rename workouts, adjust heart rate zones and create tags for your workouts. One HUGE problem with the tags though is there isn’t a way to edit them so if you misspell one you can’t correct it or remove tags you no longer use. I contacted support about this issue because I wasn’t sure if I was just overlooking the edit option, but they wrote me back and said there was no option to edit the tags but to stay tuned for updates. That was at least a year ago but still no luck. That simple fix would make FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor so much more enjoyable because my list of tags is cluttered with things I no longer need or accidentally misspelled...and you can’t even scroll all the way to the bottom of your list so I have to hit the plus sign and add from memory because I can’t see them to tap on. Please fix 😩

One glitchy feature keeps this from 5 stars

This application is great, barring one feature - a major one, in my case - that puts this at 2 stars instead of 5. I worked with Support on this problem and at this point it’s a known, unresolved/unresolvable issue, not a config problem or user error. If the following feature is unimportant to you then definitely give FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor a go! The “bad” feature: - Streaming workouts to your phone: This is the promoted feature that made me choose FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor. The watch-to-phone connection is lost very often, causing the phone to display an error and not show the live data. Sometimes the connection is restored quickly, sometimes not for 5+ minutes The good/great working features: - Voice notifications: Great - you can choose which stats to be notified of & when you’re notified. Huge list of selectable stats - Live graphs are great - Tons of config options to customize your watch, individual workouts, HR zones etc.

Love it

I am really good at learning things that are naturally passions for me but fitness is not one of the things that comes easily to me, so I always struggled with getting a workout routine started because there’s so much to learn and I’m just not as naturally inquisitive about this as I am with other things. The Fitbiod app changed all that because it plans out the workouts for me and rotates through the muscle groups. This has allowed me to casually look things up as I choose to learn them (or not) without needing to obsess about all of those details upfront. This has changed everything about what is possible for me in terms of successful fitness, by making it possible at all. It feels like a miracle! What was always impossible before. I am so happy! Thank you for FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor.

Over 2 years and still love it...ideal for Apple Watch

I have been using FITIV for over 2 years and it is perfect for my goals. Pick my workout, track workout zones, calories, etc. control my music and keep moving. Totally worth the paid version.

For the bad...sometimes it doesn’t sync right but I can easily fix it by having it reinstall on my watch. It sometimes takes a day or two to add new workouts to my watch. Most annoying, however, is the community/leaderboard is inaccurate and shows other users with crazy inflated results. That feature is not really important but it is annoying. But overall it has been a big improvement over apples built-in fitness app.

Best total work out app for Apple Watch

I do HIT work outs (high intensity training) and wear a polar H7 heart rate monitor. I lift weights and ride spin bike along with skipping rope. You can pick weight lifting and most cardio exercises (but none for skipping rope.)
FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor is brilliant. I use my iPhone to track my work out and Apple Watch, both using FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor. My only complaint is app won't stay on glance. The clock screen of watch is always present you have to manually go into apps screen and open motifit each time you want to check your watch for workout data. I have no idea why?
I keep my phone within 5-10 feet of me so I can easily see my data on phone screen. Best Apple Watch work out app I have found. For a work out timer stop watch check out repetitiveT

This app is a MUST try!!!!!

I have been using FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor since it initially started and throughout the years they update features and it gets better and better. I’ve never even considered trying other apps because I love this one so much. This community is like a family and I’m giving my honest review about that so if I stopped using it I would be leaving my FITIV family. Your never alone on your fitness journey because everyone is so supportive and FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor also supports you with features like awards for achieving your fitness goals and you can also post your workouts and achievements to interact with everyone. I recommend it to anyone who asks me what app they should use!!

Buggy

FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor has been great until just recently. I utilize my Apple Watch to start tracking runs. Later when I open FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor to look at stats, I find that FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor is still timing the run/workout that ended hours prior... definite fix needs to be made. Update: FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor continues to get worse... thinking of canceling my subscription. The GPS is horribly inaccurate causing FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor to randomly track obscure zig zags in my route when running, tracking the starting point anywhere from 200ft-1/4mi away with a sprint at my actual starting point, and recording my end 200ft-1/4mi away. I’ve done hard restarts on my phone and watch, reset my compass/GPS... nothing solves the problem. Major updates needed for FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor to be worth paying for.

Update: why does FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor keep booting me out and telling me to upgrade to a paid membership?! Get you stuff together FITIV!

My one and only fitness tracker

FITIV is the only fitness tracker I use. I love all of the features it provides (e.g. “live streaming” of my HR from my Apple Watch). There is an extensive list of workouts available to choose from or you can create your own. Should there be an issue, their IT department is on top of it, Monica provides prompt responses and exhausts every solution possible to get you back to your workout! There is so much in FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor, get in there and play with it!!
I do not know how it works with devices other than an Apple Watch, but I am sure they make sure it is just as flawless as the Apple Watch. Because the developers and IT are dedicated to this appams make it so amazing , it is very easy for me to be dedicated to FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor. 💪🏼❤️

I love this app!

I've used FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor for three years and I love how it works with my heart rate strap and programmed zones from my metabolic assessment at Life Time. I wish I could input calories per zone but the edit feature for adding workouts and the tracking features are all great. I've used the Polar app and a few others and none come close to this. Easy to read while working out, easy to add specific workouts, organized. It's my fav. Two things to note is it can be sensitive and close the workout before you're actually done. Or if you take your monitor off without finishing the workout you lose your data. I'd love if those things could be addressed.

Excellent App & Motivator

FITIV is a great update to the MotiFIT app with a greatly improved look and feel along with IOS 11 integration. Improves my workouts and has numerous capabilities beyond the default Apple apps.

I am an avid fitness addict and take 5 or 6 cycling classes per week. I use MotoFit with my Apple Watch and the combo has replaced my Polar Heart rate monitor. Easily seeing where you are in your zones during your workout motivates me & pushes me to work harder more than seeing the results afterwards with the Polar. I have had issues, this is not perfect yet, but the developer is quite responsive to queries. Highly recommended.

An update - I've found that just relying on the Apple Watch for heart rate adds a few inaccurate spikes to each workout, skewing results. I've since bought a Polar H7 Bluetooth strap and paired it with my Apple watch. Motofit is now much more accurate. I also love the new feature where my watch vibrates on zone transitions. Great job!

Another update - FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor keeps on getting better and better, now with many more customizations. And developer is very responsive to issues and suggestions. Deserves 6 stars.

Like the App - some fixes

App is quickly getting better and better. Gives me a lot of information - numbers are close to Apple health and my Polar HR App - I just wish it wouldn’t decide my workout was “done” until I said it was done .... when Erging it’s normal to do a warm up row of 20 minutes before programming your main set in and then programming your warm down .... unfortunately FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor finishes my
Workout for me after warmup .... but it will restart for the main set. And then restarts again for warm down. I would like one consistent working block but on the whole FITIVPulseHeartRateMonitor is easy to use and understand

11/13 - like some of the updates. Only crashed once In The past couple of weeks. Hopefully it’ll get better with intervals and effort and it would be good to be able to track estimated effort exerted v/s actual
