StationWeather - METAR and TAF Reviews

I absolutely love the iOS app and the WatchOS version saves me loads of effort. Being able to setup lists of airports is a great resource for checking weather around you in predetermined areas. The graphical TAF is very easy to read and scrub through by timeline.

The only wishlist item keeping me from giving 5 stars is the inability on the WatchOS app allowing to pull in EVERY nearest meter instead of just ones on your Clips. When flying cross country in unfamiliar areas it is useless unless it can being in every meter airport along your route instead of only the ones in your preset up clips

Basically, Its a wonderful aid to quickly look at multiple areas at a glance. I fly with a company whose weather minimums are more strict than legal definitions. So having the availability in StationWeather to change how VFR, MVFR, IFR, LIFR are all categorized is AMAZING. Because I then set anything less than company minimums to IFR so I can quickly see what works and what doesnt along my route.

The Bad: It crashes when you create different binders (clips). It crashes and need an entire reinstall for it to work again. So as long as I never make or attempt to make another binder, Im good.

Was working great for first few days and now it will not refresh the data. I think I’ll be canceling unless they figure out the issues soon.

Update: app refreshed and has been working since. I asked a question and StationWeather developer responded quickly. It would be 5 stars if it worked all the time like it is now.

It also is really nice to have on an Apple Watch for quick reference.

Can't be it for quick and easy up to date airport weather and forecast. You won't be disappointed. The only issue I have is that you have to buy it for every device.

If you disable location services for StationWeather, anything you do after results in a pop up asking you to enable location. I like the layout of StationWeather, but don’t appreciate a pop up, every time I try to access data, reminding me to enable location for StationWeather.

You guys have a great app here. It will be greater when you remove that nagging pop up.

Noticed that there are inconsistent and sometimes slow updates or metars. AeroWeather is almost always updated within 5 minutes of a metar being published. I have experienced delays of 10 to 20 minutes at times with station weather pro. Improve reliability and speed of updates and I would rank it 4 stars.

I love that it integrates with the watch, and that’s primarily why I purchased it. The layout and overall features are decent. My complaint is that it doesn’t update often enough on the phone and hardly ever on the watch. I’ve had outdated METARs of over an hour during Wx changes and a METAR of over a day on the watch. Frustrating.

Perfect for checking conditions when planning and when ready to depart.

Great App, but recently I got a problem that I cannot fix:
The Apple Watch complication does not show the airport as selected on the Flight Clip on the phone.
It shows only SFO and LHR, the default ones for StationWeather . Looks like it doesn’t update from the phone.
iOS 14, WatchOS 7, tried everything, from reinstall eto reset 🙁

Just got message from developer, he is trying to fix it. That is great news, would make StationWeather perfect👍
The suggested procedure to restart StationWeather did not work either🙁

After updating to the new update version 8.2 StationWeather crashes every time I opened it. Please fix it.

I love the idea but bought it specifically for my Apple Watch and the feature does not work. Just says “check subscription”. Well I have the subscription! Hopefully it’s fixed because it would be awesome!

I am leaving 4 stars. StationWeather is great and easy to use, but I have been waiting an hour now for my Apple Watch to check by subscription status, which is pretty annoying.

Very good app, I take a peak before every flight, but the biggest problem with StationWeather is that the METAR update is very slow so that it makes me turn on a different app to check weathers..
Other apps like Aeroweather does get updated as soon as I open StationWeather . Please do update to fix this.

The Apple Watch app just hangs on a “Checking your subscription...” message and will go no farther. (My subscription is active). I’ve tried deleting and reloading to the watch and get same result.

Developer responded saying restart StationWeather . Yeah, I’ve tried that a half-dozen times both before and after restarting StationWeather . Same result.

Have had a great experience with StationWeather until now. It will not open after the last update.

It’s a good app. But unfortunately station METAR doesn’t updated regularly like other app and it’s very slow.
This should be fixed ASAP.

I have an iPhone 11 and the iPad Air-purchased sept/oct 2021. Both widgets now show black screens regardless of widget size after the latest update. I’ve done all the basic troubleshooting like deleting and redos loading, restarting devices, etc and issue still exists. Please correct these because I love StationWeather!

I like the visualization of the ceiling and the color coding

App updates inconsistently and also some of the graphics need a good legend in order to understand.
