Rain Sounds HQ: sleep aid Reviews

I want to thank everyone who created RainSoundsHQ and who made it come alive! I cannot sleep without sounds at all. But RainSoundsHQ gave me the ability to create mixes with as many sounds as I want, a feature not included in any other rain apps I found. The rain apps I found had barely any thing to offer, except Rain Sounds had EVERYTHING to offer! It is complete with a 3D sound experience of soothing, relaxing sounds, from alluring ocean waves to torrential downpours to birds chirping high above in the trees. I highly recommend RainSoundsHQ, with all of its amazing and stunning graphics and high definition sounds! Thank you again! I couldn't be so much more happier than I am now!

2018: Two years ago this was 5 stars. I stopped using it but downloaded it again this week. Not sure why the controls are under the Google ads at the bottom because i can’t see any controls. When I’m on the add sounds page i have no way of getting back to my home page. I went to pay for RainSoundsHQ because of my review but find no way to do that. Did i pay for RainSoundsHQ already? Then why am i seeing adds and why are the ads blocking everything? The sounds are still great but this interface snafu is very annoying. Without a response from dev on what i should do I’ll have to move on to another sounds app.

2016: I’ve had this for awhile but just started using it and I am very pleased. Not sure where the bonus sounds go when you download them so it'd be nice to know that. (They're not in My Sounds as far as I can see.) In the meantime, I create a mix and add the downloaded sound to it for safe keeping. Nice to nod off to. Thanks.

I’ve tried just about every sleep sound app out there and finally found this one and my quest is over. The rain sounds are incredible and the nature sounds are crisp and clear and put you right in the middle of a beautiful and tranquil oasis. Each night I set the timer for 45-60 minutes and am never awake to hear it stop. I’m a rotten sleeper with lousy sleep habits but RainSoundsHQ just sends me drifting off blissfully to sleep and, wonder of wonders, I actually stay asleep! You wonderful people have done an amazing thing in creating RainSoundsHQ and in capturing these incredibly clear and pristine sounds. Well done and thank you so very much!

I quite literally was looking for a specific rain sound from Cologne, and RainSoundsHQ had it! There are lots of really soothing sound sets, and the timer feature lets me set it for as long (or as little) I might need it to run for. No more draining my battery overnight or needing to leave my phone plugged in! The ads are incredibly minimal and not invasive as far as I am concerned especially since they give you so many sound options. There is far more than just rain. You can also create custom playlists to string together your most relaxing and soothing soundscape. Give it a shot! RainSoundsHQ has been and will be my go-to app for sleepy times :)

As a former Seattleite I love rain. Now I’m in dry CA and I miss that rain sometimes the sounds are absolutely amazing and soooo many! Take one or mix many! Your choice.
Oh and rain isn’t all they have. Bazillion white noises, crackling fires, birds, forests.. just about anything you can imagine. If you miss the city they even have city ambiance. And you can mix them and decide which one is how load. Save the mixes. Set a timer to end listening... not sure what else you’ll want. Pretty amazing. And doesn’t drain battery.

I like all the different choices I get to mix around but I do wish they would have more options besides just rain and thunder. The other random sounds like the waves or cricket sounds I favored those more than the rain. I wish they did have more ocean sounds like a roaring crashing waves, wind noises and more howl to a blizzard sound. Definitely I’d love more wildlife and background sounds like maybe jungle noises or different types of bird calls rather than just a wren. This has definitely helped me concentrate with studying better and my sleep has improved immensely. I give it 8.5/10 would recommend.

I love RainSoundsHQ! I live in New York City, close to construction and a fire station, as well as a major road. My baby had a hard time sleeping and any noise woke him up. I downloaded 14 white noise apps and nothing worked, including one where you could record your own sound - terrible playback. AND THEN I FOUND RainSoundsHQ... My baby can't sleep without the River near Mt St Helens sound. Since we got it 1.5 years ago, he naps and sleeps great through fire trucks, construction, fireworks... It sounds almost like a bathtub faucet, without wasting water.

Ahh, for the Oregon Coast and hooray for sleep! Last night I slept through without waking even once and woke up this morning refreshed. The sound of rain is so soothing; I fell asleep imagining it was right outside my open window. The rain was still falling when I opened my eyes! I know it wasn’t truly raining but I live in California where it seems there has been nothing but drought and fires from hell and this is rain, no worries. (The length of playing time can be determined in settings.)

Listen Y'all, it takes me A LOT to get to sleep and the sound of the sweet, blissful, Cologne Thunderstorm is nothing short of absolutely magical! I was born and raised in the South(Atlanta, GA) and we know a thing or two about thunderstorms. Honestly, this is my FAVORITE THUNDERSTORM APP BY FAR!!! No other app has come close! I love that you can put a timer on, or... don't and let the sweet sound of thunderstorms play until you wake up! Well done to EVERY SINGLE PERSON who had a hand in writing, launching, and maintaining the fabulousness of RainSoundsHQ! SPOT ON!!!! ♥️♥️♥️

Used this for years. WASHINGTON FOREST is the most perfect rain sound you’ll hear on an app ever. You can also mix different ones together which is brilliant. The biggest issue I’ve run into looking for rain sounds to sleep to... LOOPS!!! Idc how subtle it is, your mind will start to notice the loop and it can before stress inducing. This is the ONLY app where I can’t hear the loop! It’s amazing. Also, it sounds like rain, and not static on an old TV. Can’t live without RainSoundsHQ.

I have been using RainSoundsHQ for over a year now and there is one thing that bugs me about RainSoundsHQ. Every morning RainSoundsHQ stops working, freezes or pauses. Not sure what is causing this. I have to close RainSoundsHQ and restart it. Sometimes it will do the same thing after restarting it. Only happens on weekdays between 7-8am. Weird I know. I have tried setting a time but will still do it. The “glitch” is even worse when it isn’t plugged into the power outlet.

One thing I miss about living on the East Coast of the states was being able to leave my windows open at night and wake to the comforting sound of a soft rainstorm. I love that RainSoundsHQ lets you choose from tons of different very realistic and specific sounds to make your own perfectly tranquil mix. It really helps me to relax and sleep and is very soothing if I should wake in the night. I also appreciate that it has a shut off timer.

Absolutely love going to sleep listening to the different sounds available with RainSoundsHQ. I have tried many different apps but this is by far the best for sleeping. I was used to living in the city and had to relocate to a much more rural area. I cannot go to sleep in all this quiet!! It's also great if you have time to grab an afternoon nap. I find it relaxes me & puts me right to sleep. Plus all the bonus sounds are always a great selection too & it's free! Five stars for this one!

Almost as good as the old Sharper Image sleep machine. I listen the sound of this program for sleeping, using earbuds. The thunder is not overbearing or underwhelming. The rain is a little tinny but, it is the best I have found. Blocks all ear and background noise. If you try earbuds be sure to use ones that will not poke out of your ears. Your ear will be very sore if you sleep on your side for any length of time. I use cheap Panasonic HJE12. They last four to six months. Order online for $12 a pair.

We really enjoy the Rain Sounds App. We use it as much as 5 night a week to help us sleep. We also use the Mountain Stream as a background sound in our backyard.
In the customize option, I have to combined three sounds to make my own sound for sleeping. In an area of low rainfall it allows us the pleasure of rain whenever we want it. Sincerely, JH

I am such a light sleeper. Any little noise wakes me and I’m up for hours trying to get back to sleep. If I hear a tv even on low I will be up all night. That’s why I’ve never tried these background noise apps. I found rain on a windshield. Just under 50% volume, airplane mode and now I sleep like a baby. Life changing!

RainSoundsHQ is wonderfully made! I JUST downloaded about an hour ago...I know it’s a little early but It’s amazing, trust me. The sounds make me sleepy and like the description says, it clears anxiety. Which is true! It’s free (Or you could get +sounds) and I love that you can relax for free. Nothing I don’t like besides ONE suggestion! Maybe add a search bar so you could look up certain countries, states, and particular sounds? Overall, lovely app.

I am 73 years young, and I found myself waking up two or three times a night. Since I found this so, I am getting a full night’s rest and loving it. The soothing sounds of water calms my thoughts, and I find myself drifting off into deep, restive sleep.
I have a wife, cat and dog who also sleep through the night now that we use this wonderful ap. Love it, love it, love it.

I'm a sufferer of tinnitus and these sound offerings are some of the best out there. RainSoundsHQ is perfect to use and mix and layer night sounds with. The rain tracks are varied with light drops to full on downpours. I listen every night and during the day at work - esp. in stressful situations, the rain is a great nerve-soother. Cannot recommend RainSoundsHQ enough! Thanks to the developers, this is a work of love, and it shows. :)

The developers of RainSoundsHQ are truly very nice people. I put a complaint in because while listening to their relaxing sounds an ad came on with sound as well as movement right in the middle of listening. I wrote an email to them and they promptly responded in the nicest of ways. They truly do want people to enjoy their app both free and paid. Thank you for a wonderful app.

Have tried a few apps with maybe one good sound. Most are good while RainSoundsHQ is open, once it closes the sound is gone. Love that this one has a timer feature and also will play on the background. Has a small list of rain sounds and it's enough for me. I give it 5 stars for being versatile and offering what is needed most: white noise :)
