I paid for a season subscription for WEC races through FIAWEC and my credit card was immediately hacked. Thankfully, my cc’s fraud protection program alerted me to the big charges from the french retailer’s website quickly. Think twice before subscribing to WEC. Love the racing; the web interface, not so much

Subsequent to this review, I found that the US and Canada were Geo-Blocked from the Le Mans 24 hour race...I purchased a $42 full subscription from all of the races in the calendar through the Apple app. Now, the most significant portion of that subscription is void because FIA WEC has elected to make a separate agreement with another broadcast provider in the US and Canada (Velocity and MTC). Both providers require a separate subscription fee for their services. The FIA WEC should have at least credited my subscription to a new account at Velocity or MTC, but apparently they did not consider that....or did they?

The FIA WEC apparently believes the quality of their races worthy of an $80 US subscription. The recently completed Le Mans 24hr doesn't support that position.

If you live in the USA, beware. Live streaming of the races advertised in FIAWEC is blocked to fans in theUnited States. I renewed my subscription this year, 2018, as I have used FIAWEC since 2015 without any issues. Then this year I learned from a fellow racing fan in France that live streaming has been blocked to the United States! I have attempted to resolve this issue with the WEC/24H LeMans people for weeks. After being ignored, then given the runaround I contacted APPLE Customer Service who promptly refunded the money I paid for this useless piece of software. As far as I can tell they are still making FIAWEC available for purchase in the USA without any disclaimer that it cannot be used to livestream the advertised races this year.

The live coverage was the best in years past. Right now, I am trying to watch the 24 hours of Le Mans, and the video (that I paid for) will not play! Total catastrophe! I contacted them to find out why. It turns out the races are only available on the Velocity channel in the US for 2018. So what did I pay for with my very expensive subscription (more expensive than last year, when I was actually able to watch live, uninterrupted races). They refuse to refund my subscription. CROOKS!

I purchased the Spa race broadcast and paid $5.29 for it on May 5th. The video wouldn’t play so I wrote there customer service who state, “the broadcast is geo-blocked as the broadcast is available on Velocity and MotortrendOnDemand app. Why they are allowed to charge and collect money for content that is geo blocked makes no sense.

Obviously, there broadcast partners require the geo-blocking, but they advertise, charge and collect payment in FIAWEC for services they are not able to provide. Don’t buy the races.

I paid for a season pass using FIAWEC, looking forward to watching the races as I have every other year. The streaming doesn’t work. FIAWEC makers now inform me streaming is blocked in the US because of their new TV deal. This is not mentioned in their app description. This is not mentioned in their press release. This seems an awful lot like fraud, though I cannot be sure. I want my $45 refunded. I don’t have cable TV anyway, and have no interest in getting it.

FIAWEC won’t load for the most important race of the year—the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2018). At least we can watch it on Velocity, but scrolling the positions at the bottom leaves much to be desired (maybe take a lesson from MotoGP).

Bought coverage for 2019 Le Man race. On Thursday qualifying sessions, live feed would not load, but individual car feeds worked ok. Replay of sessions worked ok later in the day, although could not rewind/ff the replay. If replay interrupted, had to start from the beginning. I'm in the USA and don't know if this performance is unique to here.

Grabbed this quick because I wanted live race coverage. Dropped $45 and change just to find out the US is geo-blocked and I’ll have to watch poor coverage at a later time on Velocity. What a joke racing coverage has become anymore. I would like to be able to pay a subscription rather than the crap commercial laden stations provide. Now I need a refund.

The WEC once had an excellent, progressive model that allowed people in the USA to purchase streaming access to races. This is no longer the case. I’ve purchased the season pass since the first year it was offered, but now FIAWEC is geoblocked with WEC’s new broadcast deal.
I don’t have cable now and I won’t get cable ever again. Clearly WEC has no problem giving longtime fans the shaft. Enjoy your decline, a holes.

I live in the US and purchased the $40 season pack. Obviously, the whole point of buying the races is to watch them and live streaming doesn’t work. The animated throbber just spins on the screen forever. The WEC IT team has had years to sort this out and has not succeeded in finding a solution to the “technical issues.” Very disappointed.

First race of the season, I’ll pay $5 to watch it and see if I want the season pass.....1 hour into the race and live steaming hasn’t worked yet, constantly trying to load. I’ve used FIAWEC for watching LeMans the last 2 years, what changed?
I want my money back. Hope you fix it before LeMans, because right now I’m not planning on buying the race package.

Don’t bother with FIAWEC if you’re in North America if you want to watch live or replay races. The live races and replays are geo locked and not available to North America. There is no notice of this when purchasing that video package within FIAWEC though, so you’re throwing your money away or going through the process to get a refund.

I purchased a 24 hour of Le Mans for nine dollars. The live cam just utterly doesn’t work and one live timing screen says my favorite racers in 13th Pl. and another screen says he’s in 20th Pl. FIAWEC is a joke and it’s just nonfunctional. So sad the 2017 version worked quite well. This is an issue about Internet speed as I have fiber optic in my house and I’m within 20 feet of my wireless router.

On race morning FIAWEC has nothing but in car cams and no overall shots with commentary. I stayed up for the start of the race, what a waste of time waiting to hear the announcers if they ever come on. Just terrible.

I just now read that live streaming is being blocked to the USA, but we are told, that is lied to, that the race will be streamed live.

Needs a direct Airplay button or an Apple TV app!

Would be awesome if it could stream to Apple TV and display timing screen.

This bug is really bugging me out

It is amazing just how unintuitive and buggy FIAWEC is. I am sold on the product (WEC Racing), and I am willing to pay money to watch it, and FIAWEC just ruins the high-tech, innovative image of WEC. What a shame. Also: if you are going to Geo-Block fans in certain areas (like the USA), Geo-Block the payment, so they cannot pay for something they cannot watch!

Write up claims in full caps live race coverage. Not in all countries including the US. No live coverage of Le Mans in US except to watch dots go around the silly low res track animation. App provider should have disclosed this before taking my money. Notifications don’t seem to be work. Navigation to find useful info definitely not intuitive. THIS IS A RIP OFF.

FIAWEC needs to be pulled from the store. They will take your money but not provide the advertised services. Their support tells you something is working when it's obviously not e.g. LeMans FP1 live timing. Then you find out that live video is NOT supported in USA only after you purchase the add-on!!!!!

WEC needs to get their act together with FIAWEC. After purchasing the 2018 season pass, live stream did not work for the 6 Hours of Spa this weekend, and same for the replay feature. Really frustrating and not a good way to start the season. I’ll be looking for a refund for the price of this first race.
