Pawshake - Dog & Pet Sitter Reviews

This service is really great and convenient, and Pawshake is mostly solid and does a pretty good job for the scheduling, reservation, and payment experience. The chats and notifications, though, are annoyingly quirky. They’re getting better (e.g. these features are more reliable than they were - at some point I was using SMS for with sitters instead of Pawshake because it was so unpredictable - and they now support emojis) but 1) the messages thread in a strange way and default to the “not booked yet” outdated messages, and 2) they erratically notify you of messages on your profile page, where it makes no sense. It’s too bad the chat threading isn’t better (just by person is probably fine, like SMS’s, rather than by reservation!), because it’s where I spend 80% of my in-app time and it’s super annoying, but it’s still a great service overall.

Pawshake is a great concept, and there are some quality pet sitters on Pawshake . But there are some issues with Pawshake . For one, it’s slow to pick up on me opening up the message and says on another page that I have an unread message, which then shows the new message on home. Really annoying since it takes more than one swipe when it should be one.

Pawshake should also be more vigilant on the sitters. I interviewed one that hadn’t been on Pawshake for nearly a year. Another one that seemed like she was trying to expose her dog in much need of rehabilitation with my dogs that have no experience with such an anxious dog when she’s meant to be caring for mine.

One positive thing I will say and end with is that I did find a quality sitter ultimately.

Although Pawshake is a good platform to find a small job, I had the one if the worst experiences with Pawshake as a sitter. The support team is pretty responsive in terms of communication but when there is a dispute, the customer support guy (Sam in Australia) was authoritative and was not willing to resolve issues from a fair and balanced stand point. He was essentially saying that I should appreciate that they cannot do too much to intervene and that I am lucky that they didn’t remove me from Pawshake because I had other good reviews. It is rude, they are treating sitters as if sitters are their inferior, the irony is they get (20% out of my pay) benefit from my work. Also, the only payment method is through PayPal which limits me to get paid on time.

I’ve been using Pawshake for last 2 years and have had many successes in finding wonderful pet sitters for my aging dog. My dog has since passed but I’m eternally grateful to Pawshake for helping me find a sitter who gave my dog the best life in her twilight years.

You can only book one event at a time. If you want someone to watch your dog and take them on walks you have to make two bookings.

Easy to use, lots of options based on your pets needs

I signed up but the deactivated my profile because my pictures weren’t good enough. The contact form on Pawshake doesn’t air and they don’t return my emails asking what to do better. My pet of thirteen years died recently and I thought pet sitting would be a nice way to feel better since I’m not really to get another pet, but instead I’m more depressed than ever. Thanks for nothing.

Great way to find your pet nanny

I love this app but two things I don’t like:
1. Search engine to find a specific person is difficult to use
2. Selecting dates from calendar ,the name of the month and days of the week are not listed. I have no idea what day or month I’m selecting!

I tried to sign up but when I went to select my country, the United States was not listed. I emailed support and they informed they do not have a presence in the United States and that they are not planning on ever expanding to the United States. Very disappointed.

Would be helpful if you advertise that this is not in all areas of the US, in fact it’s barely anywhere in the country. Waste of time if you are looking for a sitter in the United States

Easy app, great customer support, real pet lovers, photo updates, ... It just works!

Pawshake requires registration, which gives you a list of countries that does not include the U.S. If you enter something else thinking you can change this later, think again. Prior to booking, you have to enter your phone number, which helpfully starts with the country code that cannot be changed. If you are traveling from the U.S., Pawshake won’t help you find pet services.

We had some bad luck with boarding our animals, and traveling anywhere over night was something we had to plan out months in advance for our pets. this app has changed my life, I can travel worry free, book last minute, and most of all our pets are calm and happy when we arrive back. Absolutely amazing service every time!
