Athan Pro: Quran, Azan, Qibla Reviews

I’ve seen many people complain that the timings were inaccurate before installing AthanPro. I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt because I really like your Quran Pro app. However, when I first installed AthanPro , I noticed that the most crucial prayers for fasting, fajir and maghrib, were off by 1-2 minutes. The other day I noticed that asr prayer was off by a total of 4 minutes. And now, fajir prayer is off by TEN minutes. This is just unacceptable. It’s a shame because AthanPro ’s design and interface is really good. However, looks aren’t everything. The core function of AthanPro is completely off. This is why I’m giving this one star. I regret buying premium, because I will be uninstalling AthanPro. Please use the money I paid, and that many others have probably paid, to fix this problem. If this issue is fixed, I’d gladly reinstall AthanPro again.

UPDATE: Just reopened AthanPro before uninstalling, and it updated the prayer times so fajir prayer is now off by one minute instead of ten. However, still incorrect and I find it unreliable. It shouldn’t go off by 10 minutes because I haven’t opened AthanPro in a couple of weeks. And it’s not correct in the first place.

This is a very good app. It’s the most beautifully designed Islamic app and well maintained. The different theme options, dark mode, Hadith of the day, picture of the day are all lovely options.

The one thing that kind of ruins AthanPro for me is the pricing. Every few months there seems to be some new feature with a new higher pricing, I’ve already paid almost twenty dollars for AthanPro. That’s just too much. Oddly, I’d prefer that the people developing AthanPro just do a monthly $1 or $2 per month charge and provide all the features instead of adding some new feature package that is for a larger amount.

The other issue I have is AthanPro ringtones. There isn’t a simple ringtone like the iPhones default Tri-Tone. Everything is either long Athans or ringtones that just go on too long. Both are not helpful for the brothers and sisters who are in non-Muslim countries and don’t want the Athan playing loudly as their notification tone.

We all want to make money but only in a halal manner, you guys did okay and it’s a very good app but you ruined everything by falling so much in the love of money. So, by doing this, you are reflecting a bad image about a muslim. Not that a muslim can’t be greedy but, he does not lie about it. A year ago I updated the version and you guys said that I will be able to do everything. Suddenly, AthanPro stoped giving full azan, your comment on that was that Apple limited the notification time to five secnds. Latter on, you guys put more restrictions and asked for upgrade which was even more, and that was contradicting the first-time upgrading rules. At the end, please don’t make the love of this world and the love of money covers thyself eyes, ears and heart.

I want to give AthanPro one more chance even though it’s not letting me even update to the $7.99 version which was the first update.

you guys are trying to beat billgates through AthanPro trade.

I have to agree with another recent reviewer, Subhanallah, it is extremely disappointing that an Islamic app is developed in this manner. Let me explain:

After the initial Ramadan update (7.0), I had to pay AGAIN for "Pro" version e.g. ads removal. I didn't even mind that much but then came to find out that the full athan playback had broken.

Just when I was about to reach out to the devs regarding that loss of functionality, they released v7.2, which claimed that "full athan... has been restored."

Well, the restoration is not complete because now there is only ONE option for athan reciter, where previously several were available. It turns out all other reciters are still available, but now I have to pay over $10 just to unlock selecting them!

Again, DURING RAMADAN is when this change occurred! And keep in mind, I have already paid for "pro" features TWICE. I'm afraid I can only describe this behavior as greedy and deceitful.

I downloaded AthanPro initially due to it’s good reviews, very friendly interface and availability of an apple watch app.
Personally, I only need the prayer times and qibla direction sometimes, that’s it! That’s why I’ve been only using the free version.

Recently, I noticed AthanPro has been gradually trying really hard to make the customers pay for the full version, by adding an add for example that would block me from viewing the full daily prayer times. It was irritating, but I was patient..

However, now that Ramadan started and AthanPro got updated to a new interface, it became very obvious that the developers just want us to pay no matter what!
Some prayer times have been BLOCKED from viewing from the watch! Unless I purchase the premium version! Also, an add wall appears just by simply OPENING AthanPro ! And you have to wait until the add has finished to view the contents.

In my honest opinion, that’s a very cheap move by the developers.. If you want us to pay for AthanPro so bad then might as well ask for it from the get go instead of offering this useless “free version”. Or maybe just offering a free trial until you have to pay.

I had to delete AthanPro and found another free one that works just fine for me.. thanks.

I paid for AthanPro to get full athan and other features yet nothing changes even after updating and restoring the purchase several time. This is unacceptable yet I was willing to deal with it because I liked the apple watch features it gave me which no other athan app has so far.
But unfortunately I was also unable to adjust the settings on the calculation methods. Everytime I switch from standard to Hanafi it switches back. Or when I try to change from ISNA to something else, there is no other option to select the right method. Cannot even change the calculation method to be correct! I waited and downloaded updates and eventually deleted it because it still didn’t work. Shame because I really liked the apple watch features. Hopefully the other athan apps catch on and make it watch compatible

I think AthanPro is really nice in terms of aesthetics, but it’s pretty glitchy and doesn’t have a ton of features that are worth paying for. It didn’t really have anything special for Ramadan which would have been nice. I think a fasting and/or salah tracker would be really useful. Also, my calculation method kept resetting and the widget seems to be having an issue now that we’re in a new month. Additionally, the WhatsApp stickers won’t export properly. Not sure if that’s an issue with AthanPro, my phone, or WhatsApp. I submitted a couple of tickets about some issues I noticed in AthanPro a few weeks ago and never heard back. For an app that I’m paying for monthly, I’d expect to see far fewer errors. I canceled my subscription for now. Hoping AthanPro improves in the future!

I have been using AthanPro for over an year now. AthanPro is full of bugs!! I thought eventually there will be updates to fix these bugs. But haven’t got any updates which fix these issues. One of the most annoying bug is that The Athan is inconsistent. It starts but stops in the middle, Then when you unlock the phone after one or two hours later, it starts from there. And sometimes there are 3-4 Athans at once. YOU REALLY NEED TO FIX THESE ISSUES. YES, I WENT TO SETTINGS AND DID WHAT I SUPPOSED TO DO!! Now it’s YOUR TURN to GET A BETTER DEVELOPER for AthanPro!!!!! People don’t just pay for some BS app like this. And the price of the full premium version is not cheap either. I paid that amount so that I can get better features with NO BUGS!! But if the Athan itself doesn’t work properly, then I really regret wasting my money on AthanPro. WORK ON IT ASAP!

No matter how good the UI and functionality of AthanPro is, it has always been plagued for being a monetary black hole. A few versions ago I decided I would support the developers by getting premium because I enjoyed using AthanPro . But getting premium doesn’t really mean anything. They will retract services whenever they come up with a new “premium” in-app purchase package. In the latest update release they claimed to have migrated my premium from the previous version. But yesterday I lost access to my watch complications. It says I have to re-buy premium to get them back. I’m tired of this. Go and download Athan Utility instead. It may have less features but it has a super clean UI, is free, and made by a UofM student

Apple Watch complication some are not working (example setting to next prayer after press OK not showing anything) the others are showing wrong prayer times (example showing Duhur prayer at 22:05 which means 10 in the knight) how it comes???? In addition notifications are not working from previous version till now even if you purchase premium

Update: Solved by delete AthanPro and data & reinstall it as a fresh

My father and I had a small disagreement about the timing for Maghrib, and he uses Muslim Pro while I was using AthanPro. Turns out, after checking multiple sources, the time on Athan Pro was off by almost 30 minutes! I could not believe they allow for such inaccurate prayer times, especially during the crucial time of Ramadan. I had purchased the upgraded version (which gives you the perk to contact customer support), and I could not receive any reply or messages. It’s greatly disappointing to spend so much money on an app to support it, but it fails very short of the basic necessities that I downloaded AthanPro for (namaz times). Please fix this! I instead use Muslim Pro again, and I wished I had not spent any money on AthanPro.

New update FULL ATHAN back yay I should say or perhaps nay!

Where are the other Athans I have had in the past now it’s only Mishary Rashid Al Afasy, Faith Seferagic, Madina and one Athan for Fajr.

But the list goes on, unfortunately it’s locked because again I have to pay to get them back.

I don’t get why you do this are you not earning enough through AthanPro and all the other apps you have lined up?

After all it’s an Islamic app if you charge people charge them little and only once don’t make new useless price plans which are just ridiculous.

You will be loosing so many who have been using your app because what you do isn’t right many have complained previously more and more the number is increasing.

Bring back ALL ATHANS all the previous features and I’ll stay if you fail to do so I’ll most definitely leave.
This is the last time I’m wasting my precious time addressing this issues with app, Insha’ALLAH you are listening this time don’t think too much about your pockets please thinks about your brothers and sisters who are using AthanPro .

Talking about this application is little confusing..
AthanPro was very good when I had an iPhone 4 but when I upgraded to the iPhone 6s+ the became wired: sometimes the AZAN calls sometimes no especially Athan for Fajr which I have to open right before the Time about 10 mn otherwise It won’t call, sometimes it’s Dorh sometimes it’s ASR which doesn’t call.
Another issue is that I purshased same app for my wife on her iPhone 8+, with my credit card, I was charged for the regular app and when I upgraded to the professional one I was supposed to be charged for the difference between them but you guys charged me for the regular and the professional one both. which made it $24 for one application

One star review because I already paid for AthanPro and now you want me to pay again? No, thank you!

Edit: I changed my rating from 1 star to 3 stars because the full athan is functional again. However, most of the athan choices (recordings) require you to pay AGAIN because apparently now there is another higher premium version. I just don’t understand why take away something from people who already paid for it? It also costs 10$ to get the other athan recordings. Its not a 2$ upgrade. 🤦🏻‍♀️ AthanPro was fine, why did you have to mess it up? If it’s not broken, don’t fix it!

AthanPro used to have everything for free and have many features like Quran , dynamic wallpapers for free and etc but now i was shocked after this update they have made two types of upgrades instead of one when they first started AthanPro there was Pro upgrade thats it and include all features but now they have essential & customize what a rip off if you needed support just say so you dont have to close most of my features that i already have before and then let me frustrated because of greed thats a horrible way to start Ramadan with greediness I’m really disappointed in you guys and with your methods to hustle people.

I really liked AthanPro before this update now i have less features than before.

I’ve seen some reviews saying its unacceptable as the prayer time is off some by one minute others a bit longer. Well I find that being off by a minute is not an issue as it still is reminding us prayer is to start. As well really AthanPro is great because I’m the end the Athan is a call to prayer so if it’s off a little no problem because we know prayer starts minutes after Athan. So really great job especially that it’s offered free. Well done!!!

This was my favorite Athan app until the recent update. Now, every time I open AthanPro , an ad stops me which I have to close to continue. The same happens if I go to a different page within AthanPro . Additionally, though there is a place to rate AthanPro from within, it is strangely the only button that does not work...
The developers have taken what used to be a simple, accurate and easy app and turned it into a slow annoying one like all other for-profit (not for-the-Prophet) apps. It’s a shame. I’ll be deleting it as soon as I find a replacement from a different developer. Their Qur’an pro app is the same- I’ve already deleted that.

I’ve been using AthanPro long time ago , and its great and very accurate , loved it even more so i purchased the premium version ( on the old version ) and it was working very nice , even on my apple watch , but since this nee version 8.00 AthanPro is now too slow and its not working on my apple watch and it says you need to get premium version to use the Qibla or check all the prayer times , so what happened ? Where did my premium go?

So now after the latest update the Adhan options are all moved to premium. This is a feature I had on my paid version. This is a forced upgrade when I have already paid for AthanPro with a certain feature. You are deceiving people.

Edit: the developer does not even understand the complaint. Seems to be just copy/pasting the same response to everyone.

My complain above is that all of the different Adhan from different muazzin except one are moved to premium. When I paid for AthanPro earlier I had paid for all those different Adhan. How can you take that away once someone has paid for it. Understand the issue for Allah’s sake.

I love the sound of Athan.
On time acutely signals of sound of Adhan.
When I go to work some none Muslim love the Adhan.
They respect it. Allhumdolillah I love it. May increase our Emaan. I want to remind people they have to set the time with Hanafi. But this is the choice of your what you follow. Humbli time setting it is way early. What Madhib you choose follow it and hold it tightly. May Allah grant us knowledge, wisdom and strength of doing with highest standards of Emaan.
May Allah accept the effort of yours who give us the choice to listen beautiful Adhan. JZK.....

I have never been so disappointed in a App company more than this one! I paid for so many of their apps just to get rid of ads and stuff and they go and do this, so i paid so i can get full Athan and then they go and make 2 other in-app purchases which are pretty expensive why should i pay again to get full Athan? Subhanallah the fact it is a Islamic app makes it worse and I’m going to delete AthanPro unless they fix this y’all about to lose a valuable customer! Greedy developers! And not to also mention this is the only prayer app i have that the prayer times are way off so that should also give me another reason to delete until they fix this! Peace

Update: they added full Athan but only 1 stars until they give us back what we paid for, now we have to pay for full Athans we already purchased??? Really? Y’all killed a really good app i understand y’all have to make money but taking away features we had already is some shady stuff and now we gotta pay for a dark theme??? So three App purchases The wallpapers are cool though except the tacky fake ones! I’m glad they finally fixed the prayer times and gave us back full Athan, but until we get the features we paid back for I. D.o.n.t see more than that!

Easy to use and has lots flow features only thing i say is that the Holy Quran should be also included in AthanPro so it is easier for the user and we don’t have to download another app for the Quran, and the wallpaper feature is really cool and what would be nice in AthanPro in a future update would be a wallpaper that changes automatically according to different tunes in the day & night eg sunrise it will show sun rising , mid day it will show mid day , sunset it will show sunset n so on and I would also like if AthanPro could include recitation from the worlds best known Qari’s so we can listen to it. Other than that AthanPro is great

This is the best app for prayers I have ever used. The new theme is so beautiful. For the times in Saudi Arabia are 100% accurate. I’m excited for the new upcoming updates in the future.
Also I have a one small suggestion for the developer team, I hope you could make a section for Ramadan within AthanPro , or add them to today’s feed. The section is needed especially for Fasting and iftar.

Thank God for technology and our intelligent Muslim brothers & sisters for bringing us closer to him. AthanPro is great. Beautiful imagery and contemporary icons. No complaints regarding functionality in terms of the features I use; prayer schedule, Hadith of Day, Pic of Day and Adhan tunes. Haha at the people sweating prayer times being off by couple of minutes. If you think God is stressing a couple of minutes, you got this religion all wrong.

I had AthanPro for years and every time they update it’s worse ,
I bought the full Athan feature it wasn’t consistent at all so many troubles and headache,and after the last update I lost it and couldn’t restore it and couldn’t have the Athan sounds option because of that .
I did all the the steps they mentioned to other reviewer it didn’t work , I even didn’t have Athan al fajer today and I drank after the time because I trusted
The ISLAMIC app ,I am sorry to say that , this is not game app
And if I couldn’t restore the my purchase I am off to another app fix it please soon.
I sent complaints before and after I purchased the full Athan feature it wasn’t comPleated and interrupted so many time their answer was that apple the don’t allow more than 30 seconds notifications but some times it does work so how come ?!
I hope my complain does something in order to have good app that help all people who care

I purchased AthanPro during Ramadan for its full Athan features and paid $12 bucks for it only for it to not work properly! It’s so disapppinting because I have been using for AthanPro for a few years now and thought it would be a good idea to buy the premium version but I was SO wrong. The Athan doesn’t go off most of the times unless I open AthanPro and adjust the settings??? Other times 2 Athan goes off at the same time and I emailed the developers a week ago about this and never heard back. Honestly it’s a shame. Deleting AthanPro!!! Don’t even bother with it.
