Unsafe and no accountability

I would give this zero stars if I could. I placed an order through EatStreet for a fast food restaurant on a Monday night. A few minutes after placing the order, I received a message and email from EatStreet advising me that the order was cancelled by the restaurant and they’d be issuing a refund. Whatever, no big deal. The following Tuesday morning I was working from home when my apartment buzzer started to ring off the hook. I am a single woman who lives alone and was not expecting anyone. So I looked out my window that faces down over the front door and saw a (rather sketchy) looking man repeatedly and agitatedly ringing my buzzer. I was obviously frightened so I ignored it and contemplated calling either the landlord or the police. I then received a call and voicemail from an unknown number, which turned out to be the man very angrily instructing me to come outside and get my food (which he described as the cancelled order items). He left after about 15 minutes, and I immediately reached out to EatStreet customer support to report the incident and ask how my information came into the hands of this man for an order that was CANCELLED YESTERDAY. Their response was basically, “Oops, our bad. Not sure how that happened. We’ll forward your feedback to our driving team.” Barely even an apology for an incident where my personal information was basically compromised and led to a very frightening confrontation. DO NOT USE EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery.

Horrible App. Worst of All Food Delivery!

Absolutely horrible experience with this service and I will never use again. I’d recommend not wasting your time it will save you a couple hours of your life. I placed an order for the first time last night via their service and it said it was sent to the restaurant. It then said it was confirmed by restaurant. Then about 45 minutes later it said order was on it’s way. Up to this point all was as expected. Then I never received my order for more than 30 minutes after the latest projected delivery time. I called in to customer support only to find out it was their delivery service and EatSteer wasn’t even available to help. I only then found out that the order had never been placed at all and all of the status updates weren’t even true. The customer support couldn’t do anything because they were only a contracted delivery company and they couldn’t even help with the refund process because they had nothing to do with EatStreet. The end result was a complete waste of two hours and they never even contacted me to let me know of any issues until I reached out to them. Overall I wasted nearly 2.5 hours in waiting for food never delivered and in trying to get my refund and compensation back. Complete waste of time and will never use this service again. I’d recommend going with much more reliable services. Very disappointed.

Horrible service, no communication

My first two tries with EatStreet were successful. The last two, no, no, no, never again will I use this service. On one occasion, the half-baked driver had clearly dropped my bag of food and apparently transported it in the open bed of a truck; it was completely cold and partially spilled out of the container into the bag. Then there was the last time. I watched as my expected delivery time climbed by about 15 minutes. Ok, no biggie. Then it stopped showing a time at all and said your food is on it’s “way!” I finally called the restaurant when it was an hour past the expected delivery time. The restaurant told me they’d been trying to reach EatStreet for over an hour to get a driver. If there was no driver available, why did EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery say my food was en route!? You’d think maybe they’d contact me and tell me they can’t deliver? Nope! If I hadn’t contacted Eat Street via email myself, they’d have been happy to charge me $20 for receiving NOTHING. Seriously, you have no drivers available and don’t bother to inform the person waiting for food when EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery says it is on it’s way? While they did refund my money, they didn’t respond to any of my criticisms or offer any future discounts for my trouble. Seeing they have 4.8 stars here leads me to believe many of the reviews here are probably fake. Ridiculous! Will use their competitors moving forward.

Horrendous Customer Service

I used EatStreet today and the driver changed the ETA three times. When he finally showed up he went to the neighbor’s house. Upon delivery he delivered a crushed box and the food was completely COLD, indicating the food had been traveling for some time. First I contacted EatStreet directly. Next I called the restaurant to complain and they said they are getting rid of EatStreet because of these issues which happen all the time. In addition, I contacted EatStreet about a refund due to the poor customer service and was told they can’t refund me based on late deliveries. They tried to give me $10 toward my next order. I paid $58 for cold food that I spent 30 minutes recooking, brown guacamole, warm salad... and that $58 included a generous tip. This is totally unacceptable! I cancelled my card with them and will NEVER order from them again!! The fact that they didn’t even try to remedy the issue or refund even a portion of what I paid shows they don’t care - which is exactly what the restaurant told me as well. They don’t care about their customers at all!! At least with DoorDash they try to remedy situations as I have had missing items and poor customer service from them as well. Other services try to keep your business. Apparently EatStreet is doing so well they don’t need to worry about customer service. I would avoid them at all costs.

Horrible! DO NOT USE! They took money out of my account that I never authorized two days later!!!

Absolutely horrible service. The food takes forever to come. They still charged me for food I never received because the restaurant was out and I have yet to see a refund that they say is “on its way”. And then two days later they took more money out of my account! I have no idea what that charge was supposed to be for and I NEVER authorized it! Trying to get ahold of someone that actually does something is a joke. My husband and I have contacted them a total of 4 times to get reimbursed and nobody will get back to us! No to mention the people we do talk to aren’t always the nicest, they’ve been rude and completely unprofessional! DO NOT USE THEM! They’re a total SCAM!

Funny! You’ll see a “developer response” down below. They’ll try and make it look like they’ve tried to resolve the issue on their reviews to make themselves look good, but this is the ONLY “response” I’ve gotten from my multiple attempts to solve the issue. And update my number of trying to contact them 4 times before... I’ve now over doubled that! I’ve emailed, phone calls, the delivery service that they used has called them, I’ve tried the in app chat. Nothing works! They don’t care! DO NOT GET EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery.

Horrible customer service, food never comes

EatStreet is one of the WORST food apps I’ve ever been on! I’ve ordered 10 times off EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery and half of them are bad experiences!!
I ordered 2 times and didn’t get my food for an hour after it said it was coming, no update sent about it being delayed; live chat seems to be off most nights making it literally impossible to find out what’s going on with an order. I got the completely wrong food on a order; waited 2 hours for food! And then it’s the wrong food!! This last time I ordered food; never came! The restaurant never got the order, I couldn’t reach a single person all night and then this morning I don’t even get an apology, just that they cancelled my order and issued a refund. Zero compensation for having no dinner last night; I couldn’t reach anyone so I didn’t know do I eat or wait because 3 times my food has arrived 2 hours after I’ve ordered! On the live chat this morning I also never got an apology, they sent an email as I was on livechat about cancelling the order and issuing a refund and the live chat representative said “we issued a refund, wait 2 days for it; please refer to your emails”; she also never issued an apology! I recommend not using EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery! EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery is extremely unreliable!

Inconsistent, a sad joke

This service is a joke. It is inconsistent in every conceivable way. One day, a restaurant will show I’m in the delivery zone, the next day I’m not. Sometimes the order is delivered through EatStreet, sometimes the restaurant itself delivers it. If the restaurant delivers it, good luck trying to figure out when it will arrive. I live in an apartment complex, so they’ll just drop my food outside and not even ring the bell. Even when the food it delivered by an EatStreet driver, EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery shows you a useless map of where they are - it’s never accurate, not even close. I’ve also had a driver harass me via text because they didn’t like the tip (he thought the tip was too low for how far he had to drive)! I don’t deserve to be harassed because I ordered from one of the few restaurants that will deliver to my part of town! With all of the fees + tip, you’ll spend more than twice as much as if you had just driven to get the food yourself. EatStreet needs to train their drivers better, and they need to help customers have clear expectations on when their food will arrive and how drivers will behave when they get there.

Worst Food Delivery App

I’m honestly disgusted with EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery. I’ve ordered 5 times through EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery, and 5 times my order has been cancelled. I’ve wasted hours waiting for food that never showed up. The worst part is, they send you a text saying your order will be delivered at x:xx time, but then 30-60 min later, when the food still isn’t there, you check EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery and the order status is now “cancelled”.

The customer support claims I have “bad timing” for ordering when the “restaurants online orders were slammed or when the online ordering system wasn’t working”. That’s a load of crap, as my last order was placed at 3:15pm, which is hardly the lunch or dinner rush. The others were placed in the middle of the day, and one later at night. Customer support chat guy Sebastian was professional, but I didn’t feel like he cared if I was a customer or not, nor did he care if I actually got my food.

If you need a food delivery service app that you can rely on, please choose literally any other app!! EatStreet is a failure of an app and it needs to be taken out of EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery Store.

Terrible

I’ve used this service twice. The first time the food was cold, and arrived 45 minutes later than the “adjusted” delivery time. Original delivery time was listed as 6pm for a meal ordered at 5pm. They sent a text that the delivery would be late, eta 7:15pm. Food didn’t arrive until 8pm.

Second time food never arrived at all, AFTER the driver called to say she was 10 minutes out. An hour later when she still hadn’t arrived I called her and she said EatStreet called her and told her to skip the order and that they would contact me. I asked if there was a number I could call, and she said she would text it to me. Never got the number. I never heard a word from EatStreet. They have no phone number to contact customer service, just an “instant chat” that didn’t work either time, and email. The response to my questions about what happened to my order was “sorry no one notified you that we cancelled your order. Here’s a refund.”

I will never order from this service again or recommend it to anyone. If it were possible to give 0 stars, I would.

I’m done

I’ve used EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery since I moved here. I’ve dealt with cold food, the lack of quality control (why are you letting restaurants sell food they don’t have? Or not having drivers check that they have all the items I’ve paid for?), and the fact that they charge you immediately before you ever see the food. That’s a problem because I’ve had a driver give away my order to someone else, then I can’t get it redelivered? But yet you’ve already taken my money and I have to wait a week for you to return it? Makes no sense, but I put up with it for the convenience.

The last straw is them removing phone support and replacing it with a broken “messaging” feature. Tried to use it while the order was still “active” and there was no way to send the message... perfect. So now I have to email you and wait for you to check your email to address the fact that I’m missing food and you owe me money? This just shows they don’t really care about their customers, and anyone who continues to use them is in for a rude awakening.

Great Choices; Cold Food (New Brunswick, NJ)

I’m thrilled that Eat Street services restaurants that otherwise wouldn’t offer delivery—including fine dining. Great choices! However, their delivery is inferior to other services I’ve used.

Delivery times are regularly up to 90-minutes and they have gone over 2 hours. Worse than that, is the food has arrived cold or luke-warm 3/3 times now. I wouldn’t mind waiting even two hours for food as long as it went from the restaurant to my house directly. It seems the drivers pick up the food and then drive around for an hour! Unacceptable when I’m only a mile from the restaurant and it’s not a busy traffic time!

If they do go over the 90/minutes, Eat Street is very apologetic and will likely offer you some compensation, or have at least me that one time. However, if it’s under the 90-minutes they don’t care. They don’t seem to get that the food is supposed to arrive hot. Whether this is the dispatcher’s fault or the driver’s fault, better coordination needs to be made to ensure that people get their food promptly after it is made.

EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery itself is very good. It’s easy to order and it’s a very nice touch that coupons are right on hand! Menus can use updating. Also the space to write notes is hard to work with and I often cannot see what I am writing. It also makes editing very hard. Another area for improvement would be to add order tracking.

Do not get this app

Both myself and a family member who lives at the same address got EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery. They got it first and I got it a few days later because I didn’t want to have to borrow their phone just to order myself some food. Not too long after I got my account set up and made my first order, both of us got locked out of our accounts and even though we have both contacted customer service, the accounts are still locked and have been for close to a week. I recommend never getting EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery because it will only cause you problems in the end.

Update: several more days have gone by even though customer service told me “it will only be 3 days tops” and it is close to a week after I called about it and it took me a couple of days to call them. WORST SERVICE EVER!!! Against better judgment, I am going to give them a little more time. Will update again this weekend with the result(99% sure it won’t be fixed and I will call them at that point to have them delete my personal info)

Greek food outrage

It went well for 8 orders. The ninth was a real treat: the restaurant has prepared the order within 5 minutes, but it wasn’t until 50 (!) minutes after I placed the order when I have started to inquire of where my food was.
Ok, there’s no Eatstreet phone you can call. There’s only a chat you can initiate with someone (who knows where) that asks you about the email associated with the account (like they’re not collecting data from my device in the first place), then order number (sorry, I know I must memorize it every time I deal with your company), then they lie about the “order is being prepared”! While I have called the restaurant myself and the owner (that I know personally) assured me that the order has been sitting there for over 50 minutes and Eatstreet had no driver available!
I had to drive to the place myself to pick it up. And the owner had gracefully discarded the stale order and redid it for me.
Eatstreet? Decide for yourself...

Nice app, but company has issues

EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery looks nice and is user friendly. But the company has major service issues: Coupons that arrive by email do not function and are not honored, even tho all the fine print is adhered to. So ok, let’s talk to customer service. But I get canned answers, then upon sending screenshots to prove the issue is on their side, no more answers. My follow-up support request yields another canned answer with another coupon. Will this one work? I do not care anymore to find out. Please have the courage to acknowledge your false advertising. Canceling my account and will be ordering by phone or with other apps. And I do not need a canned developer response here either. Best of luck with becoming a competitor to the other food delivery men-in-the-middle.
EDIT: my email always had been the same. Customer service did not address the issue, so no, I will not email a fourth time.

Awful

Doesn't keep up to date with any of the stores they have listed. My friend had food "delivered" to them, cause eat street allowed the address to resolve. Well, it went through so we didn't think anything of it. Later I get a call telling me it can't be delivered cause it's out of area, and since it's through eatstreet which is 3rd party, they couldn't refund me cause it's all done online, and the store doesn't have my money eatstreet does... I was very upset, especially cause I didn't have enough in my account to try and reorder somewhere else. I had to wait to get it refunded by contacting eatstreet.. Awful. You need to figure out where the delivery areas are! If I'm an hour away from said restaurant, but I've never heard about it, except through your site, and you say it can be delivered, I expect it to be delivered or that's your fault for being an incompetent company! Dont allow someone to put any address on the delivery screen no matter how far. FIX THIS.

Be careful of scam!

I ordered from a restaurant, then I’m told that the restaurant is closed, and I’ll get my money back. I decided to give EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery a second chance, so I ordered from another restaurant (both were listed as open). Everything works and delivery time is 1 hour. No exaggeration, an hour later, I get a message saying the second restaurant is closed, and I will be refunded my money again. Frustrating, but I’ll get over it – I used Paypal, and I did confirm both refunds.

NOW, I check my bank account only to find 2 random Paypal charges – log onto Paypal only to find no such charges on my Paypal account. I contact my bank and find out that Eat Street newly charged me twice for amounts not related to my failed and refunded purchases, claiming them to both be Paypal charges. I then had to file for fraud and cancel my card while my bank attempts to get my stolen money back (still waiting as of 8/8).
I should have never trusted Eat Street.

Terrible app with terrible service

1) They always take forever. Not just 30 minutes; my ETA for dinner right now is 1 hour and 10 minutes. I could make an entire pork roast or something instead.
2) Terrible prices. The delivery is expensive, the small cart fee is expensive, the additional fees are expensive. You will pay 40% more than you would at the restaurant at least. Sometimes almost 100% more than the actual cost, no joke.
3) The service is awful. I’ve gotten the wrong order multiple times, which may not be EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery ’s fault. However, if they get something on your order wrong, eatstreet will only cover the cost of the missing item. They will not reimburse any of the fees that went to the excessive tip, delivery fee, app fee, and tax. Very disappointing. I ordered dinner and a drink from a restaurant, only got my dinner, and was refunded $0.50. Ridiculous!

Great App!

Super easy to order and find restaurants in my area. I’m glad they finally added the capability to tip restaurants as I do take out a lot and felt guilty every time I ordered through EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery . I stopped using it for a while and only used the website because of it.

The only thing I hate is how they changed their rewards. I do takeout at least once a week now to support our small businesses during the pandemic. It used to be that rewards were automatically applied to our order, but now you have to manually apply it. If you place your order and don’t apply it, you lose your reward. So I have at least $20 in rewards I never redeemed because of it.

Horrible customer service

I have used eat street in the past with no problems the other day I noticed that eat street had charged me for over $200 worth of orders I did not make. When I contacted customer service they asked for an order ID because my email didn’t match my account. I explained that I was not sure how that was possible as I had gotten all my conformation emails to my current email address and that I was unsure what order ID they were referring to as I had not made the orders that they charged me for. There had been no other fraudulent charges on my account just the ones from EatStreet. They responded telling me to cancel my card and contact my bank(which I had already done), but then stopped answering my emails in regards to getting the money refunded.

EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery is a joke. I placed an order that was to be delivered in 35-40 mins. 15 mins in, I get an email that my order was cancelled because they couldn’t confirm with the restaurant that they received my order. Annoying, but I went and placed another order for a different restaurant on door dash. Then another 15 mins go by and here comes a text stating my initial order has been picked up and is in its way! So now I have wasted money on a 2nd order I wouldn’t have done and emailing customer service is pointless because even after including a screenshot of the text stating my order is coming, they responded a SECOND time stating my order has been cancelled! Hey EatStreet, how about you read and comprehend your emails and be consistent with the delivery process. Deleting EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery

Restaurant Failures

I love EatStreet however not all the restaurants have a good system for delivery’s so beware. EatStreet encourages restaurants to join and cash in on deliveries thought that doesn’t mean they will try and do it well. EatStreet often pays for mistakes so the restaurants aren’t inclined to nail it every time. When using this service ask yourself if the place you are ordering from should be delivering and thing about the standard wait at that establishment and tack on delivery. Other than this complaint I am in support of EatStreet, they always handle complaints well.

Delivery times are never right

The time given for delivery when you are going to order is never right. Not even close. The time stays the same all the way through tracking process until the meal is out for delivery. Then a few minutes before the food is to be delivered the delivery time gets changed to later. The least I’ve had it changed is 15 minutes. The most is just over an hour and ten minutes. I’ve never had a delivery come at/near the time quoted. Once your food is out for delivery there’s no way to cancel without being charged for your food. So when they change your meal to an hour later after it’s already been prepared you are forced to sit and wait as your food is driven around for an hour.

EatStreet drivers are slower than molasses

I appreciate EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery in that they offer some of my favorites places. The one problem I have is the drivers take forever to deliver food. EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery consistently says the food is still being prepared and it will push the delivery time back. But, with ample consistency, I will call the restaurant to see if my food is done, and the answer is almost always “yes, your food is sitting here waiting for someone to come pick it up.” To top it off, once driver do have your food, it’ll still take awhile. I’ve had drivers take my food to the wrong address,to the wrong part of town, and everything in between. If it weren’t for the restaurant you could order from and the deals you can get, I would never use EatStreetLocalFoodDelivery.

Good restaurants - horrific service

Be prepared to wait at least twice as long as expected delivery time. Food is at least an hour late most of the time. Recently, when I asked for some kind of reconciliation for getting my food 90 minutes after my 30 minute ETA, customer service told me that the “most” they could offer me for my extremely late and cold $50+ order was a $3 coupon for my next order. Inadequate tracking, poor management, and overall extremely disappointing. It’s the only option for most non fast food restaurants delivery though so we are just stuck with mediocrity. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

EatStreet I see you commenting on these — I dare you to commit to changing practices rather than having someone contact your faulty customer service team to get another “sorry” and $3.

Lacking some quality control

App is great, easy but quality of restaurants/service can be improved. Restaurant options are pretty limited especially when you compare it to what UberEATS, Grubhub, Eat24, etc offers. Can be a hit or a miss, even if you order from the same restaurant. I’ve learned to order food at least 2 hours before I want to eat because it literally takes sooo long. Not all EatStreet’s fault, but there has to be some quality control to make sure service and food of business they work with are consistent. Can also make the rewards a little less importable to achieve.

Options and drivers

Needs more options in the menus for each restaurant. Can’t order my food special because you have no options and if I put it in the special instructions the order is still not right. I understand that might be on the restaurant but if you had more menu options I don’t think that would be a problem. As well as more restaurants. My town had more restaurants and I feel like half the restaurant options are gone now. Also drivers need to double check orders before delivering because I had to wait 25mins for one soda they forgot because they had another delivery first which is unacceptable.

Awful

Received a $3 reward after ordering foods multiple times from restaurants participating in the reward program. Next day, coupon disappeared. Called customer service, and after being on the phone with the rep for 1/2 hour, no help was offered. Totally disappointed by the way they treat loyal customers. Saying goodbye to you after over one year of being a customer!
