It’s cool

I really enjoy this app, it’s a fun app I know many people who wish there were comments and likes things that normal social media apps have but I don’t mind, it has good filters but I wish there were more things for free. Don’t get me wrong VSCO has a lot of free things, but personally I’d love to have the filters the membership offers, but I don’t feel like paying money for it since I don’t use it to often. Just a suggestion. I ,however, do really enjoy the free Dsco feature I love taking short clips and I like how that’s free, it’s also a shame that I think you have to be a part of the membership to post videos. But unlike other apps VSCO has a lot more than just filters and has things like exposure and contrast to match what you think looks best on the picture there’s a large variety of things you can use to edit your picture, and I have to say they look amazing, I also like how you can repost it and favorite it, it’s different and I like how you can see the posts you have respirated, I also love the discover feature so you can see cool images that other people have posted I defiantly use the studio a lot to edit my apps, and I personally don’t own any social media but it’s cool that it can save to your camera roll and you can post it in other social media apps. Overall, it’s a great app and I would recommend it to a friend (I have actually)

always room for improvement

I personally think this app is a great alternative to not only IG, but a great platform to share photos with other editors! I love the fact that there is no number associated with each post. All the social standards of having “a lot of likes/comments” is not an issue here. It allows creators to really just focus on expressing themselves through photo editing. I would like to say the same for video but it’s only available to members, which are those who can afford to do so; leaving those who aren’t as fortunate enough without that opportunity. I think making this app’s video feature free would really attract more users. In addition, I love how this app can be easily linked to instagram (amongst other apps as well), but I dislike the fact that one must scroll and see every individual photo. I think if this app adapted a similar case to instagram, where photos are all in collages so that one can see multiple photos at once, rather than scrolling to view each individual one, it would be much more efficient. I guess being able to view this app through Instagram where one can see view multiple photos instead of scrolling down through every picture. Kind of like the desktop version of this app but on mobile (thru links). Overall, it’s a great app!!

new layout is HORRIBLE

Not sure how new this layout is, if my app just now updated an old update or if this is brand new, but the new layout of VSCO is HORRIBLE. It is in no way, shape, or form user-friendly. I tend to dump a bunch of pictures into this app and then edit them, saving as I go. Now I have to scroll through my camera roll and I can only select ONE PHOTO at a time, I have to edit it right then and there, there’s no option to upload a bunch of pictures and then edit them later, and if I wanted to do that I would have to individually select each picture and “save to drafts” for every single one, scrolling back through my camera roll each time and THEN I can go to the SEPARATE “Drafts” tab to edit it. One of the worst parts of this whole feature is that if I select a picture and edit it right there in the “Studio - Camera Roll” tab, there is no way to save it to my camera roll AND save it to my drafts. So if I want to save it, I have to individually add it to my drafts, then change tabs, and edit/save it from there. If I want to edit it then save it from the Camera Roll tab, I have no way to go back and edit it later because it doesn’t go into my drafts, where it would normally be stored. I cannot emphasize enough, this update is HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! I am so disappointed and know that this app can do much better — it’s as if no one thought these changes through. Very disappointed. Please go back to the old setup.

Love it, just a couple easy fixes!

this app is my go-to for chill photo sharing and editing. Super simple and elegant. Just a couple things to fix:
- On iPad, the feed always glitches and is a nightmare to use. The photos on my timeline will be super blown up, rotation to portrait/landscape mode always confuses VSCO , and it takes several attempts at quitting VSCO and refreshing the feed to be able to see the entire photo. I usually end up just going on my phone to enjoy my friend’s photos.
- Discovering and searching for friends could be better. I often find my friends have an account, which is exciting but also disappointing because I wanted to find them sooner! Possibly integration with other social media channels or better account discovery would be nice. I would also love to discover more creators and amazing photographers outside of what this app reposts!
- I also want the ability to search in my followers/ing list- I get it’s not supposed to be like a hyper-social app but it would be nice to quickly search for my friend and see their latest photography.
- The recipes feature is really confusing- every once in a while I’ll try to figure out how to set it and change it and such but I usually end up manually editing the photo.

Hate update from a while ago

I loved this app but I hate the storing now because it all goes to my camera roll but that just takes up more storage I like to keep my pictures I take on this app on this app and the only way I can keep them if I delete it from my camera roll is if I post it but I don’t post every picture I take I like to just mess around with some of mine that I don’t want everyone to see. Please fix this so many people have complained about it and still it hasn’t been fixed I about want to use a new app but. I think you guys should also add the feature to make our this app account private. Another thing that irritates me is that if I delete my this app or something happens or say I got a new phone when I download this app again all my old photos will be gone and yes I know I can save them to my camera roll to back them up but I hate having my this app pictures on my camera roll I got this app so my friends could see my fun pictures that I edit I don’t want to have to save my this app pictures to my camera roll or another app it’s just better to have them on there.

Please fix this it’s getting a little annoying and infuriating. I would prefer to not have to switch to another editing app when you guys can just switch it back to the original version you had it.

VSCO journals/ new update

This used to be my favorite social media app because it has never been related to likes or the amount of followers you have. I have been using this app for over 6 years now and recently the quality of VSCO has GREATLY depleted. I am constantly having issues with cropping my photos. I woke up this morning to see my app had updated and that all my Journals were removed. I looked up online and found that this app has gotten rid of the journal section for good starting today. I have 6 years of photo journals on VSCO, that are now all deleted. They creators said this change happened because journals are not creative and they want to keep this a creative space. Well I have been using journals to group photos together like an online scrapbook. Along with that I am an artist and use them to keep track of my progress, so remind me why that isn’t creative enough for you? I am so upset by the removal of journals and all my hard work on keeping my journals up to date with good captions is now gone. The least they could have done was give a warning about this so I could have saved them before they got completely removed.
And worst of all I tried contacting the this app team to see if there is a way to recover my journals and they have zero information on their website on how to get in touch. Not even an email.

Bad update

Like many others that have written recent reviews, I have been a loyal this app user for years now and have the paid membership. I used to love VSCO, but the new update is super confusing. I liked uploading a bunch of my favorite photos into the studio and then batch editing. It used to be so easy, but now it’s very convoluted and hard to copy paste edits across photos and make sure they are all consistent before saving a copy to my camera roll. Please revert and listen to your user base. :(

Update: maybe I am missing something but I HATE that it now asks me to “modify photo?” and then saves over the raw photo in my camera roll with the applied edits. I like keeping my raw photos separate from edited because as editing styles change I know I always have the original preserved for use at a later date. In addition, there appears to be a weird bug where an edited photo looks different in the studio then when you actually open it in edit mode. The last version of this app was perfect; please please please revert. I’ve had to switch to the Lightroom app because I hate this update so much. I assume this app is trying to save money because server space for everyone’s photos and edits was too costly. I would rather pay more for the old app than deal with this new update. Please fix, how many bad reviews will it take?

It’s Going Downhill- Two Suggestions

The thing that is currently getting the most on my nerves though is that when I finish editing and choose whether or not to save or to post, the phone automatically scrolls back to the saved photo. This is so frustrating when I’m editing photos that are farther back or even relatively close and my place in my camera roll is not saved. I don’t want to scroll all the way back, edit another photo and then do the process again. It’s tedious and pointless. I guess this is in place, so we can see where the edited photo lands? But, that’s not helpful. I think that a button at the top of the screen that says “jump to most recent photos” or something would be more useful. Loosing my spot constantly is SO frustrating.

I love this app, and I will stick around because I love and am used to the editing software they have. However, I feel like with each new update, this app is making it harder to stay. They got rid of the studio, which was very handy. I liked having the photos I was editing in one place. When editing my photos, I don’t want my whole camera roll there with all my screenshots too. I want to choose what’s in the studio. I really want studio back.

I use this app on my iPhone 11, and I would love to be contacted

Suggestion for paid members

I LOVE VSCO and I absolutely love the entire platform, however as a paid member I would like the ability to sign into my account online on my laptop and edit photos from there. I feel like paid members would be able to get even more from the platform as this would allow members to see colors and filters more clearly and allow members to make even better/smarter editing decisions. I went to do this one time because when I printed out the photo after I edited it, and it didn’t turn out the way I thought it would but yet it looked great on my phone app. I’ve used VSCO less because of this only because I don’t feel like I’m getting a true editing experience. It only makes sense to me, as you can access this app on a computer already and can log in and even browse around! You’d think I could at least edit the photos I’ve uploaded under my profile before I post them on the this app feed. I will more than likely cancel my subscription and find another app that will allow me to make edits on my laptop as well. Giving it 3 stars for now until this app gives paid members a little more freedom outside of VSCO itself.

Verification Troubles

It’s an amazing editing app that allows for everyone to make their own custom adjustments and even gives them a good selection of pre- made filters that allows the user to have a good glimpse of what VSCO can do. The whole feed and layout is similar like to Instagram but still has that unique feature and qualities that makes it different than the- said app. Although some troubles in trying to claim the account of others and for yourself, is quite hard as you cannot verify your account unless the email that you put in, is correct. The problem with this issue, is that many users change emails and even get new phones (completely) and loose access to their old email for them to actually verify the account. Without adding the feature for them to change their email or even add their new email/ phone number, they can’t verify their account and edit their account (such as account name, edit the bio, links, etc). If this app adds the feature of letting the users claim their account in different ways, then it’s better for them, altogether.

Disappointed

I’ve really enjoyed using this app through the past few years, but recently it’s really been frustrating. With its most recent update, if you don’t have premium you can’t post DSCOs like we used to be able to. And i haven’t been able to post journals since this past summer (2020). The journals just sit in my journals section and the cover photo is blank and they refuse to actually post. As of this past day, i’m not able to post or even edit any photo without VSCO completely freezing up and not responding to touch. i’ve opened and closed VSCO as well as deleted and redownloaded VSCO to try and fix these bugs but it has not helped at all. Please come up with a solution.

Also with the recent update, whenever i want to save a photo to camera roll from my drafts, it takes me to the camera roll section instead of just letting me stay in drafts. then when i want to go back to drafts, i have to scroll every single time back down to where i left off with editing. this makes batch editing really frustrating as well. i have expressed to my friends how upsetting this new update is, and they’ve agreed with me. Please revert back some of these changes.

terrible customer service!! And an update I would like to request.

Honestly, I like how this app is an alternative to Instagram, but what is most annoying is that it doesn’t show everyone your followers or likes, and doesn’t have a setting to turn it on. And yes, I get that people are self-conscious, but there should be a setting to turn things on like a publicly show your followers, likes, and comments. Like Instagram !! I am not allowed to have Instagram for many reasons. And many of my friends also aren’t allowed to have Instagram. many others feel this way about the likes, followers, and comments. And I have tried to contact you on the ‘request a feature’ page. But I got an email back saying ‘we do not respond to emails that request a feature’ or something along those lines. And that is truly disrespectful because the whole self-conscience thing I said earlier? Well, that makes people feel like they can’t be heard. So I suggest you talk to your staff and make a few updates, because the last thing I said about the ‘request a feature’ is truly outrageous. And also, please read more of the reviews for VSCO, as you will see my point as many other people feel this way, it isn’t just me. Sincerely, Angela

Layout/design is terrible

Please god put it back to how it was. This camera roll/drafts setup is SO frustrating. Destroys workflow. The gallery used to be a rough draft area, I could view and edit everything together in one place. If images were finished they got posted to this app and/or saved to my camera roll. (I need to keep the original and the edit.) This new setup ruins my ability to do anything I need. I don’t want this app modifying any image in my camera roll and I need to be able to do group uploads to a rough draft/working space, I need to be able to copy/paste/small tweak edits over a group of photos. All now nearly impossible. This is infuriating. The design changes have limited creativity and stifled any semblance of a workflow. Pleas tell me how you would suggest I work on 12 images at one time as a group. Your introduction of copy paste edits was lifechanging when it debuted (esp for an app). Also—NOBODY wants to make a “moNtaGe” of tiny images on a phone screen. EVERYBODY wants to have beautifully edited single images. This has always been this app’s strength. Please facilitate this process instead of muddying the waters and forcing all this extra baggage that only weighs down what I’m here for and what this app, I thought, was created to do.

Great...but membership activation is weird

amazing app. i enjoy editing and how it has no ads and no followers or likes or how no weirdos can contact you. but on the downside, i purchased a membership and it won’t show up. i have tried logging in to both accounts that i have, and neither of them has the membership. i am worried that i have just paid $20 for nothing. please help! EDIT: i had to renew the this app membership to use it. slightly confusing and frustrating but the guide had pictures. the this app x is amazing, but you should be able to post vids. also, a guide to what each tool does would be nice. (e.g. exposure does blank while simultaneously reducing the blank). in all, an AMAZING app. 10/10. better than afterlight as well.
2ND EDIT: please please let me turn my dms off! i don’t want people asking me what i use to edit my pics! also just for safety reasons, u should let us have a private account!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!

Disappointing update

I’ve used and loved this app religiously since the days of the old app and am a this app x subscriber. I know this probably won’t be read or changed back, but I’m really, really disappointed with the new layout. I usually throw a bunch of photos into this app, edit some of them, then save the ones that come out the best. I reeeeeally don’t like having to edit right from my camera roll then save as a draft if I don’t want to save it back to my camera roll. I do so much comparison and tweaking in VSCO before I save the ones I love, and this new workflow is not conducive to that at all. I also absolutely hate that copying and pasting filters overrides the photo in my camera roll — who in the world would want to do that?? Overall, this is just mega disappointing. I’m really tired of companies fixing things that aren’t broken and not listening to consumers, so hopefully you hear my two cents. Thanks for making an app I’ve loved for many, many years. I would hate to abandon it now, but the workflow is not sustainable for me in it’s current state.

Edit: copy-pasting the same response on everyone’s review is not a good look...😒

Love it, but it could be better imo

I use this to edit all my photos and I love it, I'm also a this app X member and I definitely recommend it for everyone. But, I would like it if you guys made the highlight option to not only take away highlights but to enhance them as well, or present an option where I can select what portions of my image I want highlighted (I’d prefer this more), and the same for shadows. Also, I’d like to be able to add presets to DSCO, not just the ones you offer as soon as I take it, because the way it functions now I’d have to save the DSCO, then re upload it to this app, which I find tedious. I’d also like the option to turn other videos I have into DSCO. Oh, also for DSCO, I want to be able to save it to my this app library, instead of only being to save it to my phone or uploading it to my this app feed, and make it longer, DSCOs are so short. And it would be cool if you introduced options that are fun like chromatic aberration, or vintage scratches and dust. If you guys had all these things I wouldn’t touch another app lol. VSCO ’s dope though, keep it up.

Hate the update!

I used to absolutely love VSCO. There wasn’t a quality I didn’t like about it. I never actually had an account, or the paid version, and still loved it! I use it to edit my photos for my blog. Recently, after updating VSCO I noticed a change to the way photos are stored. If I delete a photo in my camera roll, it deletes the edited version from VSCO . I absolutely hate this change. I use VSCO to edit my photos before posting, but love to be able to go back and review old photos from the past. After editing and posting on Instagram I always delete them from my camera roll because I don’t like to have a ton of food pictures on my phone. I always loved that I could go back in the this app app and pull up old photos to reuse on my blog if I wanted to. Now that the photos delete themselves when I remove them from my camera roll I am no longer able to store them in the this app app. This is super frustrating, and makes me wonder whether I want to continue using VSCO to edit my photos.

I usually never review things, but I wanted to share my thoughts in hope that this is something that can be changed.

Great app but i have these inconveniences

I’ll start off by saying that this is a great app. I love using it to edit and I especially love how no one can see each other’s numbers of followers, likes, republishes, etc. It’s a free and positive space for me to post whatever I want without having to stop and think about what other people’s opinions of it may be. There’s no negativity on VSCO . The reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because of the update. I don’t like how when I delete a picture from my camera roll, it gets deleted from the studio as well. Maybe I don’t want the edited pic on my camera roll anymore but i do on the studio. Perhaps i’ve changed my mind and i want it back. Having it stored in my studio was great for me. Also, I liked being able to click on the home buttons on the bottom to go back to the top of the page I’m on. I can refresh quicker that way, but now I have to scroll back ALL the way to the top? I find that very inconvenient. Please go back to how it was before.

I miss the old vsco

this app is a huge fan of fixing stuff that isn’t broken. It started with the user interface, then with the editing tools themselves. this app used to be a sleek, simple, alternative high quality photo editing app, and now that it’s more mainstream (and slowly turning into Instagram imo) it’s gotten bad. The functionality of the highlights tool is a great example of a well-intending update actually making something worse, and there’s a bug with the grain tool that’s actually been there for a long as I remember. They also removed the web uploader so now to get photography on my computer to VSCO (which can only be used on the iPhone btw) I have to use “google photos or iCloud.” Thanks but if I wanted my photography to be 240p I would’ve done that already. Also not a huge fan of how often the paid version of this app is shoved down my throat. this app used to be my favorite photo editing app and posting platform but it’s just gone down the tube. Very sad. Don’t get me wrong, the community is still great and the filters remain unmatched, but the other issues are enough to reduce my usage.

out with the new, bring back the old!

Listen this app, I’ve loved you forever—since 2013 to be exact. The only reason I’ve even added a second star is for the loyalty. This new layout feels like a slap in the face to longtime users. One thing I’ve always loved about your product is that it has been a constant in a world of changing (for the worse) social media’s. I feel like over the years you guys have done an excellent job updating and keeping VSCO fresh while apps like Instagram have continued to become more monetized and consumerism-focused. While this app has continued to be about the photos/documenting experiences. The new layout has shifted the perspective making it less user friendly and more about being corralled to use the member features. I’ve used this app for free for so long that truthfully, I don’t feel mad about now paying for VSCO to continue to use a longtime favorite, DSCO’s, but don’t make me suffer through a entire new app surface. It doesn’t feel natural or easy to use anymore. I used to love editing/posting on this app. Now it feels like a chore. 🥺

Please let us restore old versions. Please.

Every VSCO update adds an extra step to my workflow

How I used to use this app—which I’ve been using for more than 5 years—was to snap photos within VSCO , edit and discard images, save to the camera roll en masse, delete from this app and then transfer to an external hard drive. Fairly simple. This workflow has been destroyed by the new update. I take a photo in this app and am forced to edit and save each photo one-by-one, an mind-numbing and laborious process given that I have about 40gb of images saved over 2 years. What’s even more annoying is that this app now automatically saves the raw image in your Camera Roll and keeps it instead of overriding with the edited version, which requires me to hunt down and manually delete each duplicate copy from within the Camera Roll. If this app is automatically preserving both the original and edited versions of the same image, isn’t the update doing the exact opposite of its intended purpose, which was to cut down on iPhone storage? I really do not understand this logic. I don’t know what I’m going to do with all of my photos, which I had been planning to back up in one massive migration; I now dread even more the amount of work it’s going to take to go through each image one-by-one and carry out the convoluted workflow VSCO is now forcing me to use. Please at least give users the option to revert back to an older version of VSCO . Thanks.

Loved it.. until the most recent update.

Up until about a week ago (May 29, 2019ish), I absolutely loved VSCO. Imported all my pictures from my camera roll, edited them, exported them, posted on this app, etc. However, this recent update changed the way pictures are stored/saved in the iPhone camera roll & this app’s gallery, which I am infuriated with. I back up all of my pictures on Google Photos from my camera roll, and then delete them from my camera roll (using Google Photos instead of the camera roll saves a TON of storage). So typically, my camera roll is almost always completely empty. However, since with this change, if you delete from your camera roll, you delete from this app, I cannot remove a single picture from my camera roll without it disappearing from this app, which is insane. Not every user keeps their photos in their camera roll, and for whoever made this change to assume everyone did, it was stupid and inconsiderate. Before this, VSCO would have received 5 stars. Like I said, absolutely loved it. However this changes everything for me and has made every day actions extremely frustrating. Please, please, please, revert back for those who do not store all their photos in their camera roll. Thank You.

Love it but....

I love VSCO. I love taking and editing pictures but I wish there was a way to see what you get when you are a member without starting the trial or becoming a member. I wish I could do cool things with the picture and individual parts of it other than just make the filter cool for the whole picture without becoming a member. I’m not a member and I just got VSCO like a week ago so I’m sorry if I just don’t know my way around VSCO yet and this stuff is on there. So I don’t know for sure if you get this stuff if you are a member or even if you’re not. I know it’s not expensive at all to become a member but I’m only twelve years old so I can’t just decide if I want to do this cuz it’s not my money going towards it so it would be really nice to be able to have all the cool stuff without having to pay for the membership. Like I said at the beginning I do love VSCO a ton and it’s not a problem if this stuff can’t be fixed. Just want to put my opinion out there in case it can. Thank you!

🤔

I’ve been using VSCO for years and it’s easily one of my favorites. The set up and layout is displayed nicely, and all the functions are easy to find and use. I’ve always liked all the different filters but never wanted to purchase them all individually, so when the subscription rolled out last year I was very excited! That being said, I would love if there could be more in depth tools(selective, curves, text, etc.), too often I find myself having to use another app for a few little things that I think would be great to have all in one place. I also wish you could chose to have a profile or not, simple because I don’t care much for the social aspect of VSCO , it doesn’t seem to run smoothly and no one really seems to interact in it so it seems ultimately pointless, great concept though! Can’t wait to see what else you guys over on the this app team roll out in the future.

Frustrating Storage Due To Update

I absolutely love this app & it’s filters & I’ve been using them for years. One of my favorite things was I could import photos into my this app studio & delete them from my camera roll. Whenever I had the time, I could go back into my this app studio & get around to editing. Sometimes I’d save it to my camera roll if I was ready to share/post somewhere, but most of the time I didn’t. Keeping it in my this app studio until I needed it just kept everything organized and I could easily keep track of my photos and edits. However, this new update deletes photos from the studio if the original is deleted from the camera roll. This has only caused frustration and an immensely unorganized mess of photos in my camera roll. I don’t want everything there, I don’t always need everything exported from VSCO . And what if I accidentally delete the original? The edit I worked so hard on is gone. This update has only made me use this app less, and other editing apps a whole lot more. The storage did not need to be fixed, it was functioning perfectly! Overall, this update was extremely upsetting.

non app owner views

Because my viewers of my this app web page without the application on their phone can only view a certain amount of my content, I have decided to no longer focus on my this app, which was my highest prioritized platform of social media, and now only focus on my instagram and Facebook. I enjoyed having my this app as a personal blog type app available for my viewers to look at my page even if they didn’t have VSCO . Now since this app requires those to have VSCO to see all content I must shift my focus to a more easily accessible platform. I wanted to share my art and more personal side but don’t want to be limited because an application wants more users. I thought this app supported everyone’s differences and sharing those with the world but now I see their focus on strictly obtaining users and making money off of them. This makes me less inclined to utilize this app and far less inclined to ever purchase again through this app. Your app brand was different and used to focus on the individual and now you’re just another one of the others, focusing primarily on money and less of the freedom of the user.

Love love love...but wait!

I absolutely love this app and use it for all of my photography. The range of creativity, inspiration and options it provides is incredible. My only complaint is that when I’m scrolling through my feed, I always see tons of content that I like and that I want to republish. However, I always have to slow down while doing this and can’t mass-republish things without getting an error message! Maybe devs you’ve heard this complaint before and refuse to change it because you want users to pay more attention to others work and not just fly through it (at least that’s why I think you haven’t changed this), but I really wish you would! Content can still be enjoyed even if one goes through it quickly. And believe me, I know that many would enjoy the content that they see much more if they were able to republish and favorite things faster without error. Thanks!

best app ever

i am no artist. but ever since i got this app it has made me want to be more creative and think outside of the box. the things people can publish on this app are always incredible and even if it is just words they are always the most relatable things. my favorite part about this app is that you can’t comment. people that post on instagram always have the fear of getting a certain amount of likes and who’s going to comment something, but this app isn’t like that. you can be yourself. no one knows how many followers you have. no one knows how many likes you get and rebublishes (kinda like a retweet if u don’t have VSCO yet... get it though!) but anyway, thank you this app for being my favorite app and i just have one recommendation; the posts that people publish saying things like “get this to 6 million republishes for my best friend to stop smoking or for me to do something, etc.” is it possible that the people who own there own accounts can see an actual number of the ppl who republish and like? not because any cares on this app but because of purposes like that one. i’d like if nobody can see it but myself, just so i don’t have to count. even if this never happens, i wouldn’t be upset at all. i love the way this app makes every person feel equal. it’s just a hastle counting when it could just tell you the numbers and only you. if you read this, thank you so much!! rock on!!

I love VSCO

VSCO really is stellar, I use their professional film emulation presets in my photo work in Lightroom, and VSCO makes a lot of that same magic accessible on mobile while introducing a more art aesthetic social experience that counters Instagram. My only real complaint is that notifications are badly delayed. I can get a bunch of them but when I follow them into VSCO they have yet to refresh the actual activity listings on my posts. They remain that way for awhile before finally catching up. Other people will lament the somewhat obtuse UI and that’s a fair criticism that I don’t even think the devs try to sidestep, they wanted to do something unique a couple years back, but they’ve walked a lot of that back because it was unintuitively unique. I’d still like to see a design change for VSCO navigation that makes it more intuitive, but they’ve crammed so many valuable features into the main purpose of VSCO that I can live with it for now. It just makes introducing it to friends a little more difficult.

I hate the recent change.

I have been using VSCO for years now so I finally gave in and decided to purchase a membership. I have loved it....until now. I hate the recent update. Now if you delete a photo in the camera roll then it is automatically deleted in the this app app, this is extremely frustrating. I was unaware of this recent change. Which is odd because I use VSCO frequently. It was only brought to my attention once I tried searching the internet to find a way to recover the photos I lost.

This new feature is an unnecessary change and I hope it is only temporary. Until then take my experience as a word of caution or just use the free features. If this was a feature this app had during the time I considered purchasing a membership, I would have taken my money elsewhere. Now that the change has been brought to my attention I will be more careful of what photos I delete.

If it wasn’t for the new feature I would have rated VSCO five starts but no use in doing that if a photo editing app deletes my photos automatically.

Amazing App But Buggy Notifications

Okay, so this is literally my favorite app. I love how it’s based around art and photography compared to like Instagram that’s just about whatever. Another thing that’s better about this than Instagram is with insta, you’re constantly comparing yourself to other people’s accounts. How many likes do they have? How many followers? With this app, you don’t have that bc it doesn’t tell you. A+ to you guys.

My only complaint is the messaging part. And I realize it’s new so I’ve been trying to give y’all credit and I’m sure you guys will fix it but a lot of times I don’t get notifications even though they’re turned on. Every person I message on there says the exact same thing and that it’s a constant problem. So if you guys could work on that, I’ll gladly change my review to 5 stars.

I recommend VSCO to everyone. It’s wonderful and the community is great. I highly suggest downloading. If you plan on using messaging though, just keep checking them until it’s fixed.

not lovin’ the update, man

this new update where it makes you either save or post edited photos, and delete the ones in your library when you delete them from your camera roll, makes everything way more complicated. what if you don’t want to post something to this app right away and then you have to go back to your camera roll, import to this app again and THEN post. i really like having all my edited photos on VSCO because it’s accessible for posting to this app, and likewise saving to camera roll when i need to.
it would be a much better update if there was the option to save your edited photo to your this app library, alongside saving to camera roll or posting to this app, because not everyone posts all their photos, and not everyone keeps their photos in their camera roll. it would also be a lot better if there was an option before you delete a photo from your camera roll, to decide if you want to delete from your this app library as well.
i love VSCO and use it literally all the time, but i’m really bummed by this update and it makes me want to use it a whole lot less.

Subscription Billing Without Subscription Service

VSCO crossed over into why-pay-monthly/yearly-for-it territory the last few years with this app X, it’s $20 annual subscription that unlocks all the features in VSCO . The feature set is robust, but it doesn’t/hasn’t changed in ages, other than a few new monthly filters (how many do you really need?). I get subscription billing is the new model, but most services have a feature roadmap or similar. this app does not.

It’s worth $5-10 once if you got everything VSCO currently offers, but definitely not $20 yearly for this app X. I should add I did pay for it last year, but once I neared the end I didn’t really see a reason to renew. I guess if you like the community and photo challenges: launched in second half of 2018, this is their most recent feature.

Many other apps offer the photo editing tools for way cheaper (some even as a one time purchase). I just really don’t know what perks you’re getting by paying a subscription.

OMG I am devastated with the latest update. I use the app daily and now I can’t work it out at all. I can’t find any of the filters I have bought and I pay a subscription. All the photos it is showing me in my camera roll are from years ago and all out of date order. They have literally mixed them all up. Oh gosh I hope they go back to the way it was!!!!
