Makes life easier

I was recently diagnosed with diabetes. I am bee busy and wanted a monitoring system that was small and compact but recorded my readings. This Dario is by far one of the best purchases I have ever made. It is so small and compact, but is packed with all the essentials needed to monitor and manage my blood sugar. DarioHealth helps me to stay on top of my overall health when’ll as it relates to diabetes. I am anxiously awaiting the 25 day mark because it states that DarioHealth has a function that calculates and averages the reading and gives an approximate A1c reading. Since using this Dario, I am motivated to make good food choices and exercise more regularly because it feels good to meet my daily goals. Anyway, I can’t say enough good things about the Dario and no... I am not working for Dario. I am just excited about how much more practical my life became after purchasing this system.

Amazing product. Disgusting in app ads and pop-ups

First off, a type 1 diabetic reviewing DarioHealth. I love DarioHealth. I love this product. Literally holds me back from upgrading to a CGM or something else, DarioHealth is easy to use and perfect for an active lifestyle without carrying the bulk of a traditional glucose meter kit. I felt embarrassed bringing my old meters around that beeped and the obnoxiously large Fanny pack pouch. This product was a godsend since it uses my number one carry on: my iPhone.

Now, DarioHealth . First, it’s useful and user friendly. Simply plug your Dario into the lightning port and even DarioHealth will pull itself up to get a glucose reading. Super simple. Where this company goes wrong is the HORRIBLE and RIDICULOUS advertisements they push off almost every time I launch DarioHealth . I’m used to a quick test method and before I can measure my blood sugar, the company shoves a full screen advertisement for their test strips, plans, and offers. No thanks Dario, I’m good. This is repulsive. I’m only using DarioHealth to test my blood sugar, not spend even more time wasting my time and money on plans. DarioHealth used to not have these pop ups, but there’s no other way to turn these off. Ridiculous. Shame on you Dario.

Dangerous

I am an insulin dependent diabetic and went through quite the ordeal with my Dario this weekend and would like to warn others. I have been using Dario for my meter readings for almost a year. A few days ago early in the morning when I went to test my blood sugar, the test strip read something along the lines of “Strip Error, if you try again and get the same error, contact your physician immediately”. I got the error twice, contacted the doctor, she told me to do several units of quick acting insulin, I began to get very shaky. My husband didn’t think it felt right so he went searching for one of my old One Touch meters. He brought it to me, I tested my blood sugar, it said 92… I tested it on the Dario twice more and got two consecutive readings in the 500’s. I tried different test strips for the Dario and they read 89… this could literally have killed me if I had injected more insulin thinking my blood sugar was dangerously high. I’m hoping that what happened to me doesn’t happen to anyone else. When I alerted Dario of the situation they sent me a generic email template with about 100 questions rather than addressing my concerns directly. BEWARE.

Love it

I LOVE GADGETS
I have been using this for about a month and i LOVE IT. What i love the most is how everything is all together in the palm of your hand. I don’t have to worry about pulling out a meter, bottle of test strips and the lancing device. I use to honesty not even take my sugar how i was suppose to because it was so much to do and pull out but with this it’s so easy and cool to use it makes it impossible to not check them. It will even remind you when it’s time to check your sugar. I don’t use all the features yet but day by day I’m learning to use it more. It’s amazing if your dr wants u to keep a log DarioHealth is the best u can even log if u did a workout how many carbs u had and how much insulin u took. I cant wait to order the the blood pressure monitoring system. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS

Completely unacceptable!

First of all I haven’t used DarioHealth for about a year and back then it wasn’t like that. DarioHealth forces you to share all your medical information whether you like it or not! You also have to select that you either have diabetes or hypertension or both! So I guess healthy people can’t use it. It forces you to enter all kinds of medical conditions you may have and there is no skip! Basically there is a skip button but it doesn’t work! If you need and app you could use in order to take casual readings for your family, avoid this one! To make things worse, there is no way to remove this info! I was trying to get a measurement of my wife’s blood sugar and it was asking me a million questions! No skip now to get an urgent measurement! So I entered anything to go though and now I can’t remove it! I have changed to not diagnosed, however the date of diagnosis has to be something. Again, you have to have diabetes to use DarioHealth!!!??? That’s insane! I wish I could have my money back!

100% honest review

I love the convenience of having the Dario glucose tester for many reasons.
One, it is very light weight and small so I can easily carry it with me in my purse, backpack or pocket. Making it very easy to test myself because, I always have on me.
Two, Dario actually reminds me when it is time to test myself and that in itself is very nice feature to have because life can get so busy.
Three, the Dario meter also keeps a log of a lot more than just my glucose readings. It also keeps a log of the food i eat plus my carbs intake, along with my daily exercise and goals that I want to reach.
Four, Dario company actually gave me my very own counsellor who calls and check on me plus I too can call him anytime with any questions I may have.
Five, there is a feature on the meter where you can list up to four different people phone numbers for them to call if your glucose were to drop to low or, get to high.
I only have one complaint and that is it takes a little while to figure out on how to use all the features. I only wish that they had a more clear video on how to use them all but, with lots of practice you’ll get the hang of it.
P.S. I am on the program with the unlimited lancers and test strips and it is completely true. When I ordered more there was absolutely No Charge to me at all.

The system itself is wonderful

I love using the Dario. I don’t accidentally stab my fingers anymore. I love that I don’t have to write down all my numbers anymore. I especially love that I’m not stabbing my fingers. (Had to say that again 😊) The lancet doesn’t hurt anymore.

Customer service is amazing too. I’m glad they even have a number to call!! The rep was fantastic, extremely helpful, and patient.

Now for the cons... I almost gave this 4 stars because of the cost of the strips. They are almost twice as much as I was paying for with my other meter. Then I tried a non-Dario strip AND IT WORKED!! That made me happy and angry at the same time. Happy that I can still benefit from Dario and use cheaper strips but angry because all meter makers claim you can only use THEIR strips.

THE EASIEST EVER

DarioHealth, even if one uses it only for blood sugar and nothing else, yields a big plethora of information for one’s doctor. Yesterday, My doctor started asking questions I didn’t expect. I told him give me a minute and I pulled out my IPhone 7 which retrieves information from my husband’s IPhone 6 to be able to tell him my average blood sugar. Not only that it would show my Highest and lowest blood sugars over a span of time. He had never seen anyone use Dario. The next time I go, I plan to print out the information. He thought it was very easy to get the information he needed without having to calculate it himself. So I’m hooked. I can wait for the approval of the IPhone 7 adapter. What’s really nice is that I can have my account on two phones and that they’ll sync the information.

Long live Dario

Can blood sugar monitoring actually be fun. You probably think that’s going a step too far. Intrigued is maybe a more accurate description. I’m a nurse and I’ve checked hundreds of blood sugars on a variety of models. But I haven’t been this intrigued since the advancement in technology that analyzed just a tiny drop of blood to give pretty accurate results. When I started in nursing a “large hanging drop” of blood was needed for analysis. That meant the patient often had to be stuck more than once. Now just a tiny drop is needed and the accuracy is really great. And the idea of it being documented and saved on DarioHealth w/o doing a thing is awesome. I can’t wait to see my doctor to see what he thinks. It’s so easy and convenient. Thanks, Dario, for bringing us this great device.

Design flaws

1. Lacks a facility to calculate insulin requirements based upon current reading and expected carb intake.
2. Lacks the ability to record insulin injected and carbs consumed.
3. Lancing device is a wimp. It does not deal with fingers callused by many years of testing.
4. Lacks a place to store used strips until I'm somewhere near a wastebasket.
5. Needs to recognize that MediCare pays for the strips for many of us. The touted convenience does not justify the cost of the strips, especially in light of the flaws cited above.

Summary--great idea, but not there yet.

Update. Right now to utilize your your device, I need to get the Dario out and set up with my phone, eventually get a reading after two to four tries and ruined strips. I then go to Glucose Companion, insert the bg result and the expected carb load. I record the results in GC, take my insulin and enjoy my meal while it's still reasonably warm. Or I can start with my old meter, good lancing device, not a lot to put together, get a reading, plug the data into the onboard calculator, record bg, time of day, units of carbs eaten and units of insulin taken All done in about 1/2 the time; meal is delightfully warm and tasty.

Nice almost all-in-one device and useful app

I used to use the meter with the testing strip cartridge, but it was discontinued, so I looked around for a device with other features, and I like DarioHealth on phone idea. Of course I need to remember to have an alcohol wipe with me and to carry a few lancets. So far, so good, but I have a hard time getting the used lancet out without a few extra jabs, so I’m wondering if I need to carry pliers also 🤔

I like DarioHealth , but it simply will not record my daily steps accurately. I have it synced with the Apple Health app and with Runkeeper, but my steps just don’t come over. Yesterday, my health app recorded over 2500 steps, but the Dario app only recorded 874. Not sure where the disconnect is yet, but I’m going to watch more of your videos.

Update: finally my steps synced today. Not sure why, but glad.

Dario

I am not a diabetic but my husband was and passed away in 2015 from complications of it. I was diagnosed 2 years ago as a pre-diabetic and then I made up my mind to start checking my numbers and keep up with it. I went totally off sugar and pastas and potatoes and white rice and breads that are high carb and started keeping check in a regular meter. I saw the Dario and decided to order one. I love it better than any other meter and so thankful for it. Thank you for this meter that is easier and amazingly small to carry with you.
I’m thankful for mine.
I hope the strips keep coming to me as I subscribed for them but don’t remember when they’re suppose to be here.
Sincerely Sherra Turner

Fix a few items

Dario test device needs a stronger spring. I set it at 4 (the strongest setting) and it still won’t pierce my finger. I am using a standard blood glucose piercing device which works fine as an alternative. Dario app needs a couple of fixes. One is the meals in history doesn’t hold previous meals beyond a day or two. DarioHealth also needs more regional products in is barcode database. Finally, DarioHealth needs an auto rotate function so that users can see the full description of foods when you rotate phone from portrait to landscape view. Overall, I like the idea of the self contained test unit and DarioHealth . Just a bit more intuitive on DarioHealth side. Maybe Dario can use users food entries to creat a larger database. Thanks

Excellent app to go with great glucometer

The device and app pair exceptionally well together to give very accurate results quickly and with very little blood. It also connects with Apple health app so results can be passed through to that app.

My only frustrations with DarioHealth are that it forces the user to swipe through about 5 pages before getting to the login page. That’s fine for the first login, after that I don’t need the tutorials and having to swipe through so many screens is just annoying. The second is the login with Apple option doesn’t allow Face ID so the password must be typed.

Overall it’s an excellent app that does what it advertises and does it well.

Makes it easier

Let’s face it being a diabetic is not the greatest thing in the world. Dario does help it’s easier to carry around comes with multiple capsules that you can use and take with you if you can travel, it does what it says is going to do in the program app and does keep track of everything for you in addition it does sync well with my other health apps so I can keep track of my blood sugar and give that to my doctor. So if you’re going to get some thing Dario is one of the best and I’ve tried a number of them give it a try it’s well worth it.

An exceptional product!

When I was first diagnosed with diabetes, I was angry! I resented the diet changes and necessary daily testing. I even resented Dario, just because I was upset with anything pertaining to this condition. But once I started to adjust my thinking, I realized the Dario System has so much to offer at an affordable price. I’ve taken advantage of most of what they offer. It is easy to understand their suggestions and the system. I still wish this was not a part of my life, but it is. And Dario helps me cope to minimize the potential pitfalls I could easily make. I’m grateful to have this product.🍀

Very nice

Knocked a star because there’s no way to delete inaccurate readings. On the one hand, this keeps you honest and means you can’t delete scores you just don’t like, but on the other, now my stats are screwed up because there wasn’t enough blood on the strip, I tested from a bad site (scab that came off and happened to bleed. I’m lazy, so sue me) and got a wonky reading, etc etc. Also, I have to undress my phone every time I want to plug in the device (I have an Otterbox for a reason, and it’s not so I can take it on and off twice a day and risk dropping my phone) Otherwise, I really like this system.

Loving the Dario way of checking BG!!

I’ve was diagnosed as diabetic 10 yrs ago this month....UGH!

I have struggled since that time to check my BG regularly! Tried just about every new meter out there and hated them because I was either constantly having to re-charge or change the batteries!!! Seemed like every time I went to check it the meter was dead!! Not to mention the SIZE of it and the hassle of carrying everything you need!! Can I get a witness?? LOL!

I had basically given up and was relying on my A1C test at the Dr’s office every 3-6 mos.
I had seen my dad using a Dario device but didn’t realize exactly what it included or that it used my PHONE as the meter!!!!!! My phone is ALWAYS charged!!! ROFLOL!!!!

I am checking at least in 2 or 3 times a day, sometimes 4 depending on the situation.

OH YEAH......I OOVE the fact you don’t have to have a freakin’ Rx for it either!!! And then there’s the fact that they will accept my HSA debit card!!!

WHAT is NOT to love about this????

Great unit

It’s compact and self contained. Just pop open the cover, start the program, insert the reader and use like any other. When it gives a result it asks for notes such as pre meal, fasting or whatever you want to say. It uses very little blood, less than my accucheck.
When I got it, I ran a few tests to check for precision and they were all within a couple of points. It reads lower than my accucheck but I always thought that ran high. I’ll compare it to lab results next time I go.
All in all, it’s an awesome little meter!

I got the dia-beetus

Newly diagnosed with Type 2. My Dr rx’ed me with the one touch meter, except for the part that it would keep getting turned on in my purse because of the constant bumping around. I didn’t like that...what happens if I need to take a reading and the dang thing is dead? Did some research and found the Dario. I absolutely love the fact that the meter is powered by your phone. Now I have the iPhone 8+, and the little dongle cord is awesome and keeps the reader far enough away from my phone that I don’t have to worry about getting blood on my phone. I don’t use the bags.
I would recommend this style for anyone who is adept with today’s technology.

So small, so complete

I’m Type2 and on an insulin pump. I also have a history of back problems and can only carry a small, lightweight bag. I love that I can get my test strips and test device into that bag - something I could not do with my previous One Touch. I can always have my meter with me! I’m also thrilled with the logging and reporting capabilities of my Dario. Now when my doc asks how high or low have I tested, I can show him my results on my phone (iPhone 8). I do wish Medicare covered my test strips, but since they don’t, and as long as I am able, I’ll pay the extra for the test strips.

Suki

I have been a Type 1 diabetic since 1986. Glucose monitoring has changed tremendously and often since that time. Seeing the Dario advertisement, my husband and I thought that it would help me. It has done even more. I don’t have to carry a big glucometer in my purse or on my person. Just having an iPhone, which everyone has, is all I need. All the information that is needed to help me monitor my glucose and A1c readings. DarioHealth also notifies my husband when my blood sugar drops and where I am. Like the previous review my doctor also was impressed with it. Thanks, Dario!

Works for me

Last year I was told I was diabetic and my Dr put me on medication.
I'll back up some, had an issue with seeing flashes one night, saw my eye Dr next morning. He suggested I see primary Dr and set up an appointment with eye specialist.... he asked about history, told him the Dr just said I'm diabetic.
He said I'd like to see a history of your blood work.
Told him my Dr didn't think I needed to do blood work at this point. So, I took it upon myself to get a monitor tester.
My research led me to Dario 4-5 times.
I ordered and started monitoring my blood sugars.
I also put myself on a very low carb diet, increase excise and monitoring my sugar.... my eye Dr was impressed with my logs and my primary Dr was impressed with my numbers....
I'm no longer on medication..... numbers are very good.
In part, want to thank Dario.... but sure would be good if I didn't have to use my adapter on my iPhone 7+.... yes, the Dario works both on my iPhone 7+ and my iPad Pro.....

Loving this machine

I’ve had this about 2yrs ago and I later bought a spare. The 1st one I use about 3x/wk. I don’t chk daily. I also use another popular brand that. I got free to compare the 2. The readings are always within 5-10 points difference. THATS NORMAL.
This is convenient, compact and easy. I had to use it in an emergency situation one and let me tell you that’s when you really get to know the importance of having this simple TOOL handy.
The 2nd one is still resting in my storage kit. I don’t know when I will need to pull it out. Very happy

Run away!

I love the concept of this however the execution was horrible. Got my meter in the mail opened it up tested my blood and it was 70 to 80 points different from the meter I’ve been using for years which has been tested with my doctor. Tried to calibrate the Dario unfortunately they force you to buy the test solution separately. Spent close to $300 and the meter is useless until I buy the test solution. How hard is it to put a two dollar bottle of test solution in the package along with the test strips.I fear that while this is a great concept the company is only interested in getting your money. Unbelievably shortsighted and not fiscally responsible. Tried to call customer service, they’re closed. What a shame would’ve been so easy for them just to include the solution.

Update not performing well

For the last two days after each test on my Dario the results or not working properly. when it’s on timeline it shows the results perfectly well but when I go to logbook my records go all the way back to August 2018, it just jumps there and it will not let me see the logbook as soon as I try to do it manually to get it to show today’s testing it jumps all the way back
Please tell me what to do, although I will try to download the Dario app again. That might correct it.

Control Got Easier

Love the Dario smart meter. I was never very good at checking my readings. First, I’d have to find the meter, then the lancets and finally the strips. I hate mess, so they were all stashed away - usually in 3 different places. With the Dario, everything is neatly contained in one small container. Plug it into your phone and you can check in seconds. I’m using it more often which gives me greater control. I’m ready to order another one to carry with me in my purse and keep the other one at home. I will not go back

What a Great tool

I struggle being consistent with measuring my glucose because of the portability of my “other machine.” Now that I have Dario I can easily carry the unit with me and it makes taking my glucose measurement fun and easy! I just love pulling out that little attachment and plugging it into my iPhone! So technically saavy for a 62+ yr old woman!!! I am working with my insurance company to get the strips and lancets covered. Lots of work through the medical insurance maze to get it done but this is the only machine that has ever inspired me to be diligent about measuring so its worth it!

Dario is only after your money. Service during the last year has dropped to zero. But, when the yearly fee came due—$257.40 they quickly collected the money from my account. Don’t get fooled by promises of quality care. Pass the word.

The second Dario meter has failed to work with my iPhone 11 pro. I've been through all the trouble shooting, I've tried to use it on my iPad, I've tried to change locations to avoid any possible blocking caused by other devices. The meter works for about a month, maybe a little more and then it dies. I reported and worked with customer service with the first instance of this problem, and Dario did send me a replacement as it was only a couple of months since I had purchased it. The replacement worked about a month, maybe a bit more. I was able to use it last on 9/6/22 in the morning. When i tried to take another reading pre noon meal the same day it would not connect and has not connected since. It is not my phone, the bluetooth connection and lightning port work for everything else. Stop telling your users that it works with iPhone. No one should be replacing their meter every other month. Too bad. I like the design and ease of use. Can't use it any more unless they improve its performance with iPhone newer models..
