Upgrade purchase issue, but super fast support follow-up, and 3.0.1 fixed issue - THANKS!!

I’ve had Launch Center Pro since it originally became available, and have always marveled at the features and options that it provided. When they announced V3.0, and everything that they were adding, I jumped at the opportunity, and purchased the full upgrade option to enable all of the features, and to support a great, long time developer. I had an issue though, after purchasing the upgrade, nothing unlocked... I went back to LaunchCenterPro page on LaunchCenterPro Store, and submitted a support request. I received a quick response from David apologizing for the problem, and that they had already submitted an update to Apple, and that they were pushing it through as quick as possible. I just installed the 3.0.1 update, and all is well - everything became available. Now I look forward to trying out some of these great features.

Thanks so much for a great app, and even more for the wonderful customer support - it is greatly appreciated!

Update iPad Pro UI & contact us links

The user interface for the iPad Pro 11" isn't updated, (relatively minor). The user interface for the widget on iPadOS 13 has small icons on the "largest setting" with very little text showing under the icon. So the icons are small with dead space around them and making it harder to tap. This gives me less space for my other one or two widgets that show all the time in landscape mode, essentially wasting some of my space widget space with is precious.

I tried to contact the dev's directly through the iPad app, but the page won't load and then I tried through the "app support" link on the iPad App page through the AppStore and it says page not found. So even though I like LaunchCenterPro in general and have a few use cases for it at the moment. I'm frustrated with the UI and the lack of ability to contact the Dev's to give feedback. If this would have come up about a month ago before renewal I would of been tempted to cancel. Please fix the "contact us" links and update the iPad UI. Thanks. :)

Another one jumping on the subscription bandwagon

I'll start this by prefacing that I do fully understand that developers need to make a living. I would love to find ways to justify helping that.

But I can't in this case. I got LCP months ago after reading and hearing way too many good words about it, but if I'm being honest, I don't think I have ever actually used it once. I just don't see anything it can do that Shortcuts/Workflow cannot. Maybe the actions are easy to setup, I'm honestly not sure.

However, this is the kind of app that just doesn't justify a subscription. Custom icons? A theme? Siri integration? NFC? Come on now.

The new version mentions future features that might incur extra costs as one reason for this. Sorry, but I'm not the type who pre-orders things. I understand how these particular devs are not the ones who screwed over lots of people in the past years worth of this pre-orders nonsense, but nonetheless the very concept is flawed and wrong.

I'll check again once these new features are released, but until I see real, good reasons for LaunchCenterPro to have a subscription attached to it, I will treat it like all others that have attached a subscription for things that do not justify one, and will rate it as low as possible because this behavior needs to stop.

iPhone 👍👍👍👍 , but iPad 👍👍

I use this for a handful of bookmarks on my iPhone, mainly for specific transit stops and lines, making these available through LaunchCenterPro ’s quick actions widget. On the iPad, on the other hand, especially the 12.9” version, LaunchCenterPro is less useful to me. The icons and buttons in the main app interface are uncomfortably large. (Only the widget icon size can be adjusted in LaunchCenterPro ’s settings.) The only way to call LaunchCenterPro ’s actions seems to be via its buttons, not other apps, although I might be mistaken. If I depended on this more, the annual subscription fee would be a bargain, especially with the previous customer discount.

Historically perfect

Update: THEY FIXED THE LOCATION BUG! This thing is *perfect*!

Combined with IFTTT and Workflow, you basically have to sit back and chill while your device does everything you’d otherwise have to waste about ten differently-placed taps on. Launch Center Pro is LaunchCenterPro Apple should’ve made and built into every device they’ve made so far. It’s the power-users answer to all their prayers — and then some!

The one AND ONLY problem is the location bug which got introduced in the last update. Location-tracking will automatically turn itself off, for some reason.

Again, it’s the ONLY flaw in this otherwise piece of ART! Ignoring that, it’s a STEAL at the price the developers are selling this at. It could be on for $15 or more, and still be underpriced.

Thank God (and the devs) for Launch Center Pro!

Not amused.

I paid for this twice already - before it became a universal app. Just so we're clear that's $10. Now you want me to pay another $25 so that I can use it with Siri shortcuts?
Here's what bothers me the most. All the unnecessary add-ons can be purchased individually, but for the only one that matters, you have to buy the whole package.
I get that you have to make money but what about giving loyal customers a little leeway. Give us the full functionality for 6 mo then hit is with the new pricetag.

Excellent productivity tool

They actually listen to customer feedback and continue to improve LaunchCenterPro what a concept.

Of course it does cost money but you get what you pay for I can’t tell you how useful it is to literally add specific tasks to Siri who is quite frankly far less useful than she should be.

It’s worth the purchase price if you spend the time to use it you can really cut the time down and things you do every day.

Scheduling not really

I bought LaunchCenterPro so I could schedule an action but it really doesn’t do it. Probably a limitation by Apple. All LaunchCenterPro does is give you a notification that you have to swipe and enter your passcode in order to launch it. There’s no way to even respond through my Apple Watch which would be very convenient. Also, to schedule an action you have to go in and edit the action. I run the same action at a different time everyday and it would be much better to be able to drag the action into a “schedule section” and choose the time and day to do it from there.

Love it but…

I love everything about LaunchCenterPro. Yes, it makes you pay but it’s worth it for how easy it is the use. The UI is great! Thing is, it doesn’t actually launch any apps. Anything other than a local Apple app launches a blank black screen. I feel like this is a relatively simple coding fix to adapt to the new updates, but I’m worried LaunchCenterPro has been abandoned looking at the update history. I’ll hold out until my free trial is up, hoping for an update that makes it usable, but I’m not optimistic. Disappointing, considering how much better this is than the Shortcuts app!

Very nice app for power users

This is a great app. Allows me to easily get to MOST apps (including Shortcuts) I use regularly in a single location. If there is a way to use it for ALL apps, that would make it even better but I have not figured it out yet if that’s is already the case.

One issue I have currently is that every time I open LaunchCenterPro I get LaunchCenterPro Store Password box. That is sketchy at best. I just dismiss it, but still concerning.

Great app.

Had to change my original post, LaunchCenterPro is a big help in desiging icons for mobile devices in which I use it for. The icon maker is great you can custom png's you make in ps or any design editor. Before I don't figure it out but now it works very well. So it's great.

LaunchCenterPro is a little pricey but for what it can do its not that bad, I'm looking forward to see more icons added along as well.

Nice update to a great app

I have used Launch Center for years and was glad to see the update and the extended features. Out of the gate problem with enabling the in app purchases and I emailed the dev team who responded right away with an email and got a new build out in hours. I am still working through the features and so far the best for me is adding app launch capability to the Today Widget.

Most Used

I’ve been a long time supporter of launch. It’s my main app due to its functionality. It’s super smooth and allows you to really trigger actions with such fluidity. I actually get excited (and read) when they release an update. If you’re looking for a launcher, this one is it. This, in combination of the shortcuts app will give you all you need.

NFC stickers do not work

One of the main features I was excited for was the NFC stickers. When the feature originally rolled out I bought the stickers and attempted to assign them to an action. They don’t work. Every time I scan the stickers it takes me to a generic download LaunchCenterPro from LaunchCenterPro Store page instead of taking me to my launcher. Responses from their support team have been infrequent. Otherwise LaunchCenterPro is fine but having paid for this feature and still not being able to use it I can’t rate LaunchCenterPro as being good.

New 3.0 features are a must for the power user

LaunchCenterPro is Overkill for the average person. But if you like using widgets, Siri shortcuts, and app actions this is your launcher! Get so many things done with just a few taps, add those to Siri for even faster actions, and clean up that messy home screen! New 3.01 version fixes LaunchCenterPro upgrade payment errors. Super fast response from the Dev support team.

By

Disappointing

I was really excited to use LaunchCenterPro but I did not expect to have to pay for every single feature and just to add it to the home screen. I understand that developers have to make money but it’s ridiculous that you have to pay just to add the apps to your screen. LaunchCenterPro is also super laggy and does not respond well. Overall I just don’t think it’s worth the price, especially considering it’s a yearly subscription and not a one-time purchase.

Meh, interface not adaptive for iPad

It’s been years since Apple provided the capability to compile apps which scale and display well on both iPhone and iPad. But no messing with that here! If you want to use it on an iPad, you’ll either have a crummy zoomed phone app or use it at iPhone size (and a small-screen one at that).
I rarely use LaunchCenterPro despite having it for years. I use my iPad more than my phone and the developer’s decision to more or less not support the iPad means it’s unlikely I’ll start.

Am I missing something?

I paid the whole $50 bucks for this because it was worth the money for my apps to open seamlessly. But it opens the launch app before it brings up whatever app I choose, every time. Am I not doing something right in configuring the icon or does LaunchCenterPro just not work? I’ll gladly change my review if this can get sorted, it seems like a fun app and I like all the different options. But if my apps can’t just open like normal I’m going to need a refund.

Great except for iOS Apps

Idk if it’s just me but when I open iOS apps the created icons open Launch Center Pro before opening LaunchCenterPro . The ones that come from LaunchCenterPro Store it opens automatically. When I open the icon for the Phone iOS app it opens shortcuts then launcher center, then the actual app. If that can be fix will definitely raise to 5 stars

Very unhappy with loss of features

I have used LaunchCenterPro for a very long time and have loved it. However, I went to launch one of my apps from within Launch Center and imagine my surprise when I find that I cannot launch the apps using the same workflow that I have used for a very long time. Instead, I find a lock on LaunchCenterPro that I want to launch and can no longer launch my app. This is a very poor way to roll out an upgrade. If you want to charge for new features, great; but don’t take away features that I have had previously for a long time.

Ignore the negative reviews

I looked at a bunch of the negative reviews and you know what I see? A bunch of whiny children that aren't smart enough to learn how to use LaunchCenterPro.

Launch Center is a must have for power users. LaunchCenterPro gets a special place on my home screen alongside Workflow and Copied. If an app doesn't support URL schemes, that's not THIS developers fault. But rest assured, if an app does use URL schemes, you can use this to drastically speed up your workflow and get back to what really matters (hint: it's not staring at your phone).

My only recommendation to the dev is to add more glyphs. That's literally it. Everything else is perfect.

I like it, but...

I like it, but I think it still could get a few things done to it.

1> I like the “True Black” theme, but I wish it would give you the option of having the “True Dark” and yet the icons (groups and actions) to be a bit whiter. The reason I say that is because the “True Black” is elegant, but the icons are a bit hard to see.

2 > It needs so badly an easier way to find apps on the “All Supported Apps”. It could be a search bar or the alphabet you see on the side that jumps you to the beginning of the list of apps that start with that letter.

3 > The schedule part should be more flexible. It could have a custom that lets you select when it’ll be scheduled.
