About Palisades Tahoe

What is Palisades Tahoe? The Palisades Tahoe Resort app is the official app of the resort that allows users to connect with their friends on hiking trails, track their performance, and view real-time weather and resort information. The app is designed to enhance the user's experience at the resort and make it more convenient and enjoyable.

Features

- Real-time weather data: Users can see the current weather at the mountain, which helps them plan their activities accordingly.

- Find and track friends on hiking trails: Users can create their own private group to stay connected with friends on the trails. They can see exactly what trail each person in their group is on as well as their current location on the resort hiking map.

- Send dynamic messages to friends: Users can send location-aware messages to their group by using the quick messages feature and let them know where conditions are sweet. When they see the “#” in their quick message, their location will automatically be dropped into the message.

- Track hiking performance: Users can get all the details about their hike day (and season) they’d ever want to know. They can track how many hikes they’ve done, how much vertical they’ve logged, and more. The app also syncs their workouts with Apple Health and Strava.

- Created exclusively for Palisades Tahoe by the creators of SkiLynx.

- Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Squaw Alpine app

A well constructed, comprehensive, and easy-to-use ski app. Highly recommended. Great way to get up-to-date info on weather, snow accumulations, and lifts in operation, on wind hold, or closed. Maps for both of Tahoe’s premiere ski resorts, Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley. Fun tracking options to display your vertical feet covered, speed attained, number of hours on the hill, lifts and runs taken... just a fun way to track your day. Includes a cumulative function so all the things you can track for a given day can also display your season total activity. I’ve been skiing these two resorts since the early 1970’s, even competing for Squaw in the early ‘80’s, yet still found PalisadesTahoe helpful for areas I know well. Get it, use it, share it!

AMAZING APP

PalisadesTahoe was absolutely amazing !! I was able to track my family during the whole trip while skiing or just even walking around the village !! It was so useful and helpful especially when we were trying to find someone. I was able to find my brother right away on the slopes and this helped me to not be as worried about where everyone was going to be, I knew that I could rely on PalisadesTahoe to figure out where everyone was and to help me find different places to eat, ski, and shop. It was so very useful for our trip and made squaw valley the best skiing resort I’ve ever been too !!

Great App and Awesome Support

I have been using PalisadesTahoe daily at Alpine Meadows for three years. It does a great job tracking your stats so you know where you stand during each season. When there was an issue with reporting at the beginning of this season, the dev team was super responsive in taking care of the problem. I also find PalisadesTahoe far easier to use than the website when it comes to checking lift status and webcams. Thanks!

Love it!

Use it for tracking where I’ve skied, how much I’ve skied and how fast. I really like how the interface breaks that down for you. One reviewer said it doesn’t show you individual days skied. If you tap Total Days Skied, it shows you a breakdown of each day. The lift line wait times are helpful too.

I haven’t had any issues. The only thing I wish it would do is automatically track my skiing. I often forget to start tracking when I start my ski day. I actually hate that I have to remember this. It lets me know when I enter Squaw. It should start tracking as soon as I get on a lift,

Meh

I can only compare this to the epic pass... I dislike having to start tracking and when I do try to start, sometimes I just get the wheel of death and it never starts. Perhaps it’s lack of service at the mountain... nonetheless I have been 6 times and have only tracked three. I liked how the epic pass just kept track without me having to do anything. There are, however, some cool features... like how fast you go and the pie chart of difficult terrain you go down. I like that. My advice to PalisadesTahoe maker is to make it track automatically. If you can tell me I’m in the lot, you can figure out I’m riding too!! You can do it! I believe it!

Best Ski app I’ve used.

My wife and I could ski as a couple knowing where our early teen children were at all times and make arrangements to meet up ....allowed mom to relax so we could have fun.

Easy to use and set up...linked everyone up via a text and then messaged one another within PalisadesTahoe .

If you can’t find a person quickly, tapping on your group/family members name at the bottom centers their location on the map so you can zoom in on their location.

Great for families and groups!

Love PalisadesTahoe! I was able to meet up with part of my group super quickly by seeing where they were, real time, on the lift. And I can send out messages to my group about where the good snow and short lines are and where to meet up for lunch. Made my snow day so much better by making it easier to connect with my people! Additional bonus was seeing what lifts were open and the starts at the end of the day.

Fantastic for LARGE groups!!!

This shizz tracks you better than the CIA. Our whole team is tracking scores over PalisadesTahoe . The competition is real (actually pushing people to go harder). Our team can keep track of everyone on the mountain which is great for reorganizing groups for lunch and leaving. The best snowboard/ski tracking app I’ve ever encountered. Period.

It lists lift times, interactive map (this is probably the most helpful for everyone), top speeds on every run, where everyone is on the mountain, fun stats like vertical feet.

My only con would be that you can’t see your route overlaid on a map. If you app developers are watching out that would be fire.

No problem 5 star at the end of the day. If you are riding these mountains PalisadesTahoe is a must.

Fun

Fun app if you frequent Alpine
Meadows or Olympic valley. Parking updates, stats, stores, weather, webcams. I found myself constantly checking PalisadesTahoe to stay in the loop. Especially useful are the lift status, and the tracking which is handy to keep track of everyone in your group. Must have if you’ve got Palisades lift tickets

Why do you assume I am at Squaw?

Why does PalisadesTahoe assume I am at Squaw when the GPS clearly shows I am at Alpine?!? I turned on tracking in PalisadesTahoe the other day but apparently the squaw map was showing when I hit start do it didn’t track a single run the entire day because I was at Alpine. I learned that lesson yesterday and was able to track but when I hit stop tracking at the end of the day the map immediately switched to Squaw, even though I was right next to the Subway lift at Alpine.

Attendants

Almost 50 years skiing at Squaw. It’s wonderful. But often the lift attendants are sitting down, talking to each other and not offering to assist. Today on KT this was happening. Of course no one needs help getting on KT but those working should be standing up, offering service or at least saying hello. Maybe even train them to offer insights on which runs are good. I’ve never heard anyone at any resort proactively do this but why not.

AWESOME!

This is a great way to stay in touch with all your skiing friends. Tells if they are riding the chair up (and how far up) - and the trail they are skiing down. The chat feature helps us meet up for lunch at at a resort bar. Then there are your personal stats - runs, lifts, vertical, speed. It’s all there!

Awesome tracking, but the map needs work

The interface is amazing and the tracking is fairly accurate. The only problem is that you guys don’t differentiate between advanced only (aka black diamond) and expert only (aka double black diamond). A black diamond symbol or a little “Expert Only” on the side of it when you are checking your trails would be cool. I had to knock off 2 stars because in my eyes this is a huge problem knowing difficulty. However, the rest is awesome!

Love squaw and this app makes things easy

It is a awesome feature to be able to check for snow conditions and see the live web cams as well as see the weather and see what snow there is as well as 24 and seven day snow report. And you can track your runs and see your stats. This is a great app.

Awesome Tracking

I’ve tried a few ski tracking apps, and Squaw’s is just awesome, especially on the Apple Watch - from the run summary at the end of a run that shows what lift you took up and what trails you took down to the info about how far up your current lift you are - it’s awesome!

Easter Sunday

Hogsback and Rock Pile had wintery pow. Amazing! It’s a shame upper Mgmt isn’t more flexible with lift closures. Granite Chief has the best snow on the mtn. Resort Chair is still running and you’re shutting down Granite Chief! What good is putting in the connector lift so you can market the resort with more skiing acreage when you close early?

Made my ski day!

I wish more resorts had PalisadesTahoe. Being able to track your runs, meet up with your friends, and then seeing your season’s stats is just so cool. I feel like I just experienced the future of skiing. Now I just need to buy e-tip gloves!

Not nearly as good as Epic Pass app.

Maybe I am not set up correctly but with the Epic pass app I don’t have to allow PalisadesTahoe to always track my location to get my stats on runs and elevation. Epic just tracks from the scanners on the lifts and then I look at my stats in the Epic app. I don’t want to give Squaw access to my location 24x7.

By

$$$ App

There are a lot of tracking apps out there, but the Squaw app is one hell of a lot better than all of them. If you’re going to ride here get PalisadesTahoe .

Community

In the Me tab, you don’t need the show button, you should automatically show my friends. Stupid to push another button.
The feed isn’t necessary, under community, let me have the ability to have the friends tab as my default.

Great app

PalisadesTahoe is really good. I use it mainly to check lift status at both mountains. It's always accurate including wind hold days, webcams are a good resource as well with all this undesirable weather we've had this season. I don't really use any of the other functions except the social media feeds so I can read all the "negative Nancy's" and laugh at their armchair quarterback comments and inappropriate knocks kinda like the other person who reviews PalisadesTahoe inaccurately. I wish it would snow more! I think the nay sayers out there would have that be the corporation's fault too, ha! The only reason I give it a 4 star instead of a full 5 star is I had some problems with the last update until I deleted and reinstalled it, just annoying. I also wish the snow reports were more accurate, I don't really read them anyway because they are similar to all the other mountains which means you multiply the report by 2/3 to get he real "new snow" depth. Great job though! Very convenient and helpful on a daily basis for me.

Perfect App for return to Squaw

First trip back after a few years and used PalisadesTahoe to review runs, directions, weather, lifts and could keep up with friends all day even when we went different ways. Lift wait times were accurate helped me make the most of my day. Great enhancement to the whole ski experience and I’ll be checking for it now wherever I go to ski.

Helpful on the day but doesn’t store rides tracked on Watch

I use the watch app for tracking and at the end of the day I press “Save” but the phone app doesn’t seem to get updated or store this and therefore it says I didn’t ride that day. Not great for trying to keep track of the season total.

By

Squaw should do better

Squaw needs to get a system like Epic uses... a RF scanner than reeds your pass at each lift ... therefore the system doesn’t drain your phone battery (you don’t need a phone) , it can tell you how many times you ride each lift ..
You can also add pictures for the days you ride ... Squaw also needs to track the NASTAR runs...

By

Could be a lot better

App constantly ask for you to change your location to always instead of while app is in use, very annoying. It also doesn’t let you look at daily skiing activity, it totally all days together. That’s not useful to me. I will return to using a different app.

Terrible weather forecast section

Good idea but poor execution. The weather portion is hard to read, doesn’t show the entire description due to limited space, and you can’t even expand it. All in all using PalisadesTahoe for a weather forecast on the mountain is mostly useless
