Invaluable

App helps me maintain a diary of my BP
& MAP (mean arterial pressure) w/ability to make notes on the present variables at the moment from exertion to medications to symptoms like chest pain. It automatically moves a copy of the results to a health app. Also I can look at weekly, monthly & annual trends. Highlighted results when my dbp (diastolic) or sbp (systolic) aren't in target range allows me to see quickly those variations which could signal a need for further attention or evaluation. So easy to add the data. Scroll to numbers rather than type in, weight can be adjusted anytime & notes can be added each reading. (Used to be an app whereby I could hold my iPhone to my chest for BP. Found it reliably close yo a BP machine. I deleted it only bc it wasn’t updated to current iPhone IOS. Miss that portable BP “cuff”.) Glad to use BloodPressureCompanion. Recommend for those wishing to maintain feedback for themselves OR their doctor bc info can be exported to another source for review. I don’t need that right now but I will have the baseline data when the time comes. Worthwhile!

Simple, easy and exactly what’s needed

I needed something to simply and easily track my BP and weight as directed by my doctor. I bought another app for$5 that had all the bells and whistles, along with a complicated setup and that just wasn’t it. I take my BP three times a day and weight myself in the morning, hit the plus button, adjust the dial to my numbers and hit save. The big bonus is it will email me and my doctor a PDF with easy to understand numbers and a few graphs. This is the free version and not once have I got a pop-up asking I get the full version- if all you need is to track your BP and weight it doesn’t get better than this. With a two minute learning curve! Easy - Simple!
And easy five stars-

Early user

BloodPressureCompanion was simple from the start. It helped me to be disciplined to take my pressure readings and weight first thing in the morning. I like the simple data entry of sliding scales, but if you’re readings very Widely, they can be a nuisance versus the direct entry keyboard. I do not like the color selection in some of the displays. The colors do not lend to easy visual grouping. I would like to see A more simple color scheme with red as high green as normal and yellow as low. Will update this review as time passes.

Helpful for sure!

I found BloodPressureCompanion, and after reading all of the reviews I downloaded it. After a few days, it looks like it has everything you need to accurately track BP, heart rate, and also weight. I already had an Omron BP arm cuff, but the ability to track this information and share it with my cardiologist is no doubt going to be very helpful. I haven’t used every aspect of BloodPressureCompanion yet, but it looks like the perfect tool. I’ll upgrade to the paid version after a month of trial, and update my review at that time.

I do like it but a few changes would mean love

I am new to blood pressure tracking. I found this when I went looking for an app to help me track my blood pressure. I do like BloodPressureCompanion but there are some changes I would like to make to it it would make it absolutely perfect. The sliding entry system well easy to use I don’t like as much as being able to enter the numbers myself in an easy to use format because my blood pressure goes all over the place. And well a slide will be at 1:10 after one use it can go up to 155 when I need to adjust it for the next use which isn’t really convenient.

Blood pressure

I am 76 hrs old. Have CKD stage 3. I monitor my blood pressure twice a day. This site is very easy to use. If anyone could do this daily entry I’d have to say no not me. But, I can do this all by myself. The info is very important to me. Plus my kidney specialist & heart doc too. They both have I phone and I can forward my daily log directly to both of them. Staff is great & very helpful. Along they were able to define MAP to me. Thank you so much for all ur help. Sincerely. A senior

A great way to keep track of your blood pressure!

I have been using this for a month and think it is a terrific and easy way to keep a log of one’s blood pressure. I check mine at least 4 times a day and have for 2 years. Before BloodPressureCompanion I used to take a picture of my Omron cuff readings then enter them into an Excel spreadsheet. This is way easier and now I can delete the hundreds of photos of BP readings on my iPhone. This is a great app.

Great app for history

Great app for keeping track of your history with blood pressure readings.
The notes section does help jog your memory when at the doctors office, but it would be nice to have a mini preview of the note on the history page. Even it only shows the first line of the note, we could determine if we need to open it in front of the doctor, instead of scrolling through trying to find a particular note to show.

Ok but not great

This is OK to keep a record of your blood pressure but I don’t like that you’re not able to just type in your systolic and diastolic and you’re forced to use the dial. But the main thing I don’t like is that the notes are hidden. In order to see your notes (ie. L Arm, after walk) that you made on that particular entry, one has to go in like your editing the entry then click the Notes tab at the top to see what you wrote. I wish notes were displayed underneath the blood pressure entry. I’m starting to look for another app that is better.

Ok, But Dilutes Data

Overall BloodPressureCompanion is fine. But the PDF reporting leaves a lot to be desired. While the report will include details of each reading taken during the day, the charts average out the day’s readings.

Example, BPM at 112 for one at rest reading. But because others that same day were 70’s - 80’s the high BPM is lost on the charts that my doctor will give a quick look.

Graph needs to have option to show the spread of readings for the day. Not show just an average chart point at 89 BPM for that day.

Only having a point for the average of all the readings for the day dilutes the data and has given my doctor a need to question the chart data sent. So lately only sending the report with each reading. And that doesn’t show trends as the graph would.

A chart like the stock market hi/lo/close style would be much more helpful for a doctor to quickly pinpoint issues that a single averaged point does not.

Blood Pressure Tracking

This is a very effective and easy to use app for tracking my blood pressure especially for a non technical older person. Seeing the information at a glance or looking at the historical information has made me and my doctor more aware of how my pressure really working. The ads are ok however, I usually ignore them. Overall, I love it!!

Better Than Expected

I can easily recommend this if for nothing more than the reports it produces. They make it easy to communicate your values with medical professionals... right from your phone.

The ONLY thing missing is the ability to write a quick and short note. Things like took meds late or missed today or I’m out and the new ex hasn’t arrived. Just some things that could explain changes.

That aside, this is an awesome app!

Very helpful app

I was recording my bp, hr, and weight in a little book. This is so much easier and convenient. It would be nice if another entry could be made for blood glucose testing for diabetics. Either a specific entry for that or a user defined entry that could be for that or any other reading that a user may find useful like INR or %spo2 (oxygen level). Overall though, it is a very useful app as it is.

Blood Pressure App

I really like the blood pressure app! It’s user friendly design makes it easy to record daily blood pressure readings and even save notes each reading, if you want to record more information. It averages the last 10 sets of blood pressure data and has a nice history where it color codes the results.

BP Tracker

Great way to keep track of your daily blood pressure measurement. You able input notes to inform each BP Cheek. My doctor informed me that I needed a daily BP Check so they could get a better assessment of my pressure. I chose BloodPressureCompanion b/c of the ease of data input, notes and graphs. The color let’s you know which part of BP reading is high, medium or low.

The main reason is that I can export my report to my doctor!

Great BP App!

First I would like to say it is a great BP app for monitoring your blood pressure. Secondly I would prefer to upgrade within BloodPressureCompanion instead of having to buy another app because it takes up iCloud space for an app you will never use again. Hopefully the Developers will listen to the people who download BloodPressureCompanion. Thanks!

Near Perfect.

I use BloodPressureCompanion to try and get my hypertension prescriptions right. Improvements I'd like to see:
Add a convenient way of tracking meds so that once can monitor the effectiveness. It should allow experimentation with dose timing and amounts - so don't presume that same dosages each time but make it easy to keep the standard or adjust. Maybe same some alternative preset dosages. A reminder for the next that is set each time but has a default. I am working with three meds right now. The link to the Apple app should allow analysis of impact of exercise.
.
As someone else mentioned the graphs are great but one could be improved - the daily, as I recall.

It would be. Ice if the roller wheel could be faster to use - how about a keypad option?

Works every time!

Icons make sense easy to use. Tried others. I use every day (after recent surgery used more often to watch new medicines effects) and I love the history to compare day to day readings. I like goal weight too (at first did not know how to use it). I like to see progress getting to my goal weight. Recording changes when they happen. very good app. Simple to use.

Love this app

I had to start keeping track of my blood pressure and BloodPressureCompanion works perfectly. I can keep track of my results and show my Doctor. He’s also happy with the results of how this tracks and averages. Thank you. And once I realized how often I would be using this , I purchased it in a pack and have taken advantage of the other 3 apps.

Good but an odd flaw

Simple, straightforward way to track BP, heart rate & weight. Best of all I could monitor the pattern while adjusting my meds then exported a record I could send to my doctor.
The graph, useful for seeing patterns, does not scale systolic readings accurately: a systolic recorded as 122 shows up on the graph as 114. A peculiar flaw in my opinion.
I did not upgrade from the basic program as I want no more bells & whistles than tis provides.

and, IT'S FREE!!!

There are so many advantages/conveniences I find in BloodPressureCompanion that I didn't not find in others. I've exported pdf, works great. I like the method of input although others would prefer a different method.
Notes CAN be added for any reading! I've seen other recent reviews that say otherwise so I'm not understanding why.
Again, IT'S FREE without being sponsor driven.

Only B/P App You’ll Need!!

I have MS and been a Chronic Pain Patient for over 15 years. With the high abuse of Pain Narcotics it’s effecting us that truly need them too. Can’t control Pain, Pain causes higher B/P, need to track my B/P for my Doctor now. BloodPressureCompanion does it all: Easy to use, able to make notes, print reports, etc. I’ve tried others but can stop now cause found the BEST!!!
