Audio tour does not work!

We booked a Big Sur audio driving tour to Big Sur, CA. It only guided us to the starting point over and over again, when we tried to go further into the tour. From the side of the road, I called the company for help. I was told what to push and where, but nothing worked. After following specific instructions given to me over the phone we were led back to the starting point yet another time. I also learned that there are no audio instructions to get from one point on the tour to the next. Which makes navigation almost impossible if you have to read your cell phone and drive at the same time. We had to drive around ourselves with no audio instruction and information about what we encountered on the drive. It was a waste of $10!

Worst app for trips

This is the worst app for planning trips. Their policy only protects the tour companies, cancellations are impossible and refunds are impossible. They collect all your money and provide no service. They don’t vet their suppliers so the service is horrible. 2 times the supplier did not show up at all and told aviator that I didn’t show up so they did not refund me said it was my fault. Second time cancellation was 4 days ahead of time they said it was too late and collected $1500 for doing no work. The suppliers are rude and ruthless liars. Visitor support is incompetent and impossible to deal with. Absolutely the worst trip app experience. I have reported this to customer care and they said “deal with it” and kept copy pasting the same answer refusing to escalate to a manger. Awful customer care.

HORRIBLE experience

Prices and activities listed are not always accurate. Instead of trying to assist in making the situation right, customer service passes you from one agent to the next and blames the tour operators. I made a trip to fly to Paris to see Lido De Paris show. I had reservations (paid for) twice. Both times were cancelled. Finally they told me that one option was available but it was double the price. They ended up continuing to blame the tour operator for having the wrong price listed on their website; instead of providing me with tickets, even though some were actually available. No resolution was ever met. Do not rely on them for travel plans!

On Sunday evening, my girlfriend and I booked a three hour tour of Stockholm on this app — according to Ramirez, this wasn’t nearly enough time to explore the city. The following day, I was happy to find a brief, but pleasant message explaining the main attractions we would see, and if any requests were curiously lingering within our minds as to potential exploration spots; of course, as tourists, we did not.

Long story short, the first 45 minutes give or take, were decent, but somewhat awkward as dead silence and requests on where to go next would constantly plague us. A dull, shameful, and lifeless excuse for a guide who I’d avoid like a crazy mother-in-law — it’d have been a heck of lot more exciting if this was our guide!

Ramirez is supposedly a 15 year resident of Sweden who couldn’t even answer the most basic of questions like:

“What’s the significance of all the lights on peoples/businesses windows?”

Wrong Information

We scheduled a tour through Viator. They told us that the tour company picks up in our area where we were staying. The tour company called us the evening before told us the location where we need to meet. I told them Viator told me they were going to pick up at my hotel. They said they do not pick up at that hotel. They asked me if I booked it through a third-party. I said yes this app. They told me that the information on this app platform was incorrect in the air not responsible for that information.

Maybe because I’m after hours but I’ve spent several hours being asked questions then offered coupon codes that don’t work and being given the runaround from agents on live chat to try to redeem these little 10% off coupon codes, which I would have dropped had they not kept asking questions and giving me codes that didn’t work then apologizing they have no way of seeing codes they send out.

Inefficient

The only app I’ve ever used where I have to re-key everything multiple times. I have an Apple iPhone and none of the data comes forward for payment. When you try to pick excursions on a specific date it doesn’t tell you that they don’t run one month out of the year and you have to figure out why it’s not working.

Worst App ever. Tried booking a Tour , And it keeps denying my credit card, Tried 2 other cards and it denies them as well. After trying multiple times I booked a different tour and had no issues. They really need to correct whatever problem they are having.

Booked/ Reserved twice but no confirmation

Booked the same tour twice since the first one didn’t go through but the same result again .. it just keeps saying finalizing your booking on the confirmation page and nothing after that . Worried if I am already charged unnecessarily. Be careful guys

App is Not a deal vs computer booking

Book Chef guided food tour of Pike Place Market and they offer off a 10% discount but restrict the times of the tour and the number of stops on the tour . On line it’s 9 food stops on Viator it’s 8 and all times are open on the web and on Viator the blocked out 3 times slots . Just not the same tour for each site

Terrible customer service

Bought into a tour while traveling Costa Rica, and then attempted to cancel about 20min later after the service wrote and requested an additional $400USD from me. Has the tour company or this app reimbursed or honored my request to cancel? No. this app doesn't care about its customers, just its bottom line. Do not support this company.

Viator Trip Advisor let me down

this app Trip Advisor let me down horribly. Not only did they not honor refunding a Puerto Rico Food Tour cancellation I made through their partner Global Experiences in Dec 2021, but when I went to Jamaica in Jan 2022 this app/ Caribbean Tours canceled a catamaran cruise on my birthday! LESSON LEARNED: I lost $500 to the this app scam and I will look to schedule with a more reliable service than this app in the future. :(

Wouldn’t leave home without it!

Seriously though. Every business trip I take I had a couple days to it. This is because I’m sick of seeing just airports and hotels. I check out this app to see what’s going on in the area and then I book at least 1 to 2 tours. I have never been disappointed. The tour guides are always very accommodating and very knowledgeable. They all seem to be history buffs and know the areas quite well. We took a tour in New York in the twin towers area to see the new monuments and our tour guide actually lived through the nightmare. It was unbelievable, he told us things that nobody would ever know. My niece is going to school in Chicago as a freshman this year. When she told me, I gave her the history of the city as told by the various tour guides I experienced it through. She couldn’t believe how much I knew. I commented to my husband that we need to take a tour of our own city. It will be interesting to see how much they can tell us about the place we have lived all our lives. The prices are also very reasonable. I generally do walking tours Or a bus tour and have done entertainment tours as well as food tours. All have been good. I have not ever done a bicycle or Segway tour however. Give them a try I think you will be pleased.

Viator is our favorite local guide

We’ve done 4 tours with this app and just booked 3 more. They do small groups which we really prefer. Their prices are great. Most importantly, the guides are wonderful, in our experience they are local, and very reliable. this app offers a large variety of tour options, sometimes several versions for the same location, and different lengths of time from half-day to overnight adventures. Every tour we’ve done, the tour company has called us the night before to verify the tour details and to see if we needed anything. They are very responsive to questions on line after booking and before leaving home. They are on time and really provide a full experience. I have recommended them many, many times to friends. We think they are really a terrific, high quality, competitive service that has provided us with very satisfying travel experiences.

Terrible customer service!

I bought tickets to skip the lines for the Maya Ruins in Tulum, Mexico. I received. Biggest mistake! The day before the event, the third party handling the tour emailed me to confirm my arrival and stated that my vouchers from Aviator will not be valid for entry but I had to pick up my tickets at specified location. I showed up to the location to obtain my tickets and the workers had no idea what my vouchers from this app was. As a result, I contacted Aviator right away via numerous exchanges of emails. Customer service was absolute no help and a waste of time. They kept providing me information that I already had. I kept having to tell them that the third party location is not accepting my vouchers. I requested a refund and they denied me. Of course I followed up on the refund and they completely ignored me. I ended up buying my tickets at the actual entrance for the tour, which I should’ve opted to do in the first place because the line wasn’t very line and it was CHEAPER.

Convenient but could improve

It is convenient to have everything available electronically. There are some issues however. The vouchers on Viator could improve by having pickup times or meeting times on them as well as the meeting location. I was traveling and only had access to Viator and a pickup time was miscommunicated ( I had requested a specific pickup time for a private transfer. The company arranged for a different pickup time but this was not communicated to me or on the voucher). There was a 30 minute difference between the requested time and the time the local company set time for the pickup. This was for a transfer from hotel to rail station. I ended up leaving for the rail station after waiting for 15 min due to fear of missing my connection. Still waiting for refund for the paid for transfer.

Basic Logic Flaws still present

Arrived at a location that offered audio tour booking through this app. Tried to download and reserve a self-guided audio tour at the location but this app would not allow me to because it was same day.

My fault for the next part but I tried to pay for the rights to download and listen to the self-guided audio tour that would be for “the next day”. this app’s app just confirmed and stuck to its same processes for in-person live tours by sending me the download and listen link the next day. This makes sense when you need to limit how many people are actually on a tour but doesn’t make sense for self-guided audio tours. You could sell 1,000,000 in a day since it’s audio self-guided. Doesn’t make a difference to anyone except the customer and the venue.

Seems like something small and fixable but really limits usefulness of Viator for people who aren’t interested in massive guided tours. Will be deleting.

Could be better

I booked two trips in Italy. One was 2 day hop on hop off bus with Vatican and coliseum skip the line tour. You need to see the Colosseum on the first day. They recommend that before 1 pm you go to the affiliate and pick up your vouchers. We flew in at 10 AM ran to our hotel which was outside of Rome then had to get back into Rome and ended up walking about half of the city to get to the location. We got there around two, there was no line there was no need to rush and she recommended we do Colosseum the following day in the afternoon and Vatican in the morning. I don’t understand why viatour Couldn’t just give us the tickets. It would make life easy to have the actual Voucher on the phone...
The second tour we booked was fantastic! Easy and well priced, So I guess it depends on the company that ministering the tours.

Good until you need an amendment

Have used this app many times in the past but have never needed to reach out to their service department until today.

Requested a cancellation 60 minutes after receiving booking confirmation but was denied a refund even though the tour is three weeks out and nothing has been bought by the supplier. Two separate agents delivered the same canned response that contradicted the tour information. After speaking with a supervisor, she rudely cut me off as I spoke, grew frustrated at the customer, and refused to escalate internally. She verified her agents never called the tour supplier to transmit my request. Not the experience I was expecting after having used this app 10+ times in the past. Everything is great as long as you don't have a problem - as soon as you do, good luck garnering support. Not only have you lost a loyal customer, but I am disgusted with how you treated me.

These Developers Rock!!

Viator is an absolute must have if you're a frequent traveler!! I’ll be heading to Cancun in March & the this app app helped me get everything on track. From airport pick up to booking all the fun excursions during my visit. Their customer service reps are awesome & very knowledgeable. I purchased 3 @ the same time & the rep added a discount on, which helped A LOT!! I'm glad I came across Viator!! I also was given a COMPLIMENTARY tour to Playa del Carmen!! (A $39 value) for FREE!! I will definitely be using Viator for all my travel needs!!

Our go to source for tours & excursions!

I found this app years ago and have never been disappointed. We have enjoyed 2 person private tours to our entire family of 6 out in wilderness excursions. Always an amazing time and this app has such a variety of tours! After booking flights & hotels, this app is my next step on all our travels USA & abroad. One of the best experiences are the tour guides, always friendly, funny, and very informed. Customer service is very responsive regarding changes. Our nighttime walking tour of Athens was suddenly rained out, yet we were rebooked the next day with one phone call. Lining up our tours in London, Paris, Amsterdam! Cannot wait!

What were they thinking!

How is it possible that a good app & website can turn into garbage? Just have a look at Viator and you’ll know. TripAdvisor owns Viator & should be ashamed at what they created. I have used Viator on iPhone, iPad, & web in past. No longer. Dates don’t change when edited. Multiple trips can’t be saved. iPhone starts with today’s date & then need to swipe each week. So for May trip and today is January I need to swipe dozens of times. Many activities & attractions say not available. So why is it listed? Plus will any be available when I travel in May? Navigation between screens difficult & often missing. Just a few of the problems I have encountered.

I wanted Viator to prep lab multiple trips. Viator seems to for those on location. Worthless & waste of my time!

They have the best deals and use some of the most reputable tour companies as their vendors all over the world. If there is ever any problems or questions they have an amazing customer service department. Thank you for a FANTASTIC Anne Frank walking tour!!!

Wow! This tour TRULY exceeded our expectations!!!!! We were initially a little bummed out this private tour did not include seeing where ANNE Frank lived in hiding HOWEVER, this incredibly thorough examination of ANNE Frank's life prior to moving to hiding really offered a glimpse of who she was and her dynamic personality!
Our GENIUS down to earth brilliant guide, Loes, truly took us through every nook and cranny and added personal details about where events took place and what Anne's neighborhood was like prior and during the Nazi invasion.
Having a private tour was also a treat since we could ask numerous questions!!!
Our 11 year old son was also very in to this tour and is even more inspired to read the book of "The Diary of a young girl", ANNE Frank!
Thank you again Loes for being so kind to us, letting us rest a bit while drinking that delicious complementary coffee and then for taking us to the local pickle / onion store as well! That was icing on the cake!

Great app for tours and activities

I have used this app many times to book tours on my trips and I think their app is very user friendly to use. They carry a wide selection of choices to choose from and the explanation for each tour is complete. I use it mostly Viator on my phone so on the go I can search for last minute tours and book it right from my phone, I have never had any problems booking or with any tour operator. Even for transportation from airport-Hotels you may find it there. I highly recommend this app for any trip specially internationally.

this app really helped us with activity ideas for our destination to Iceland. They really DO guarantee a lowest price for the activity as well as a full explanation of what to expect for the booking. Once signed up, the bookings are clearly saved on your personal this app web page which is most convenient. This is my go-to Tour Booking Company

I’ve now taken several tours through this app in several countries and have enjoyed professional local guides and a unique experience every time. This is my first go-to when I am visiting a country and am looking for a unique local experience outside of my ad-hoc itinerary. The tours are always small and the guides are local, knowledgeable and take you on a personalized visit minus any sales hawking. I’ve even joined a small tour where I live to vet this. I have yet to be disappointed on any of these add-in’s as part of your own holiday plans.
