Love love love

I just started smoking this year and Leafly is like my bible for searching strains. I love the new update but have one complaint- I miss when you’d see the info on a strain, and it would show where it was nearby. They have seemed to remove this and it was a big plus for me when looking for strains. Now I search the strains and get all the info I need, but where I could get it close to me. I don’t know if they’re thinking about adding this back, but you really should!! It was such a help, like no idea how much.. because now I have to go into all the nearby dispensaries on Leafly and manually search for the strain and well let’s be honest.. I’m high most of the time and don’t have the time or am In the right state of mind to be able to do this. Other than that, I’m in love with everything that was done. I guess it was time for a makeover and y’all seemed to outdo yourselves. 5 stars for you! Being that this is the first review I’ve ever written in how many years?! Wow, I hope you guys actually read this!! That says a lot!

Where are my pics?

Ok so I have really enjoyed becoming a part of this community-not too many complaints but where do my pics go, they aren’t attached to my reviews and it seems once they are uploaded they are not even able to be found again...have written two emails but just get generic responses, I even offered a reason once but was still vaguely talked into a circle and left more confused than before I had written the email... this would be the only reason I didn’t give Leafly 5 stars...I feel that, especially when using concentrate, a pic to accompany the review is extremely important for verification and what not...clarity, color, consistency, and all the other understanding you can gain from just looking at an extract’s visible characteristics....If nothing changes then I still love Leafly and give it a solid 4.7 with the only discrepancy I have being the fact that my pics aren’t connected to my reviews or me at all for that matter...just curious so let me know if you have any suggestions to remedy my situation-thank you for your professional attention regarding this matter...

My saving grace for MM information

My husband and I have used Leafly 24/7 before we were separated. I used Leafly to help him find specific strains for certain ailments. He is a military vet and he’s been through too much pain and has had 3 shoulder surgeries in 2 years during his job working as a police officer. I would desperately use Leafly to find whatever he needed to help with chronic pain, anxiety, insomnia, depression, and fatigue at times. I made it my prime number 1# job for myself to find this man the strain he needed to move forward every single day. Plus I used this to find myself medical marijuana strains for sleep and occasional Chronic pain as well. I still hold my fact that Medical Marijuana is made my Mother Earth and she is to be used when people are suffering. Also ! I’ve been noticing a lot of MM products for pets who suffer Arthritis and anxiety and I love it!! So many living beings on this earth deserve a natural medication it’s up to them how they use it responsibly. But I’m so grateful for the states that are on board with legalizing it.

Beautiful, intuitive redesign that will only get better with more data

I love this app’s redesign centered around very thoughtful visuals and testing data! I’m very much a data nerd and have been waiting for more data driven insights on marijuana. For me I find that terpenes are a much better way for me to find what strains work for me and the desired effects. The indica/Sativa labels aren’t very helpful to find what I’m looking for and I have always gravitated to specific terpenes, but often there is a lack of information on terpenes since it’s not widely understood and testing can be expensive. Now I have a tool to help guide me to finding the best strains for me. And the best part is, it’s only going to get better with more testing happening. My hope is that this app will help guide the industry to focus on terpene research/information and the community will follow. Thank you for all the research and thoughtfulness you’ve put into this redesign. Thanks to your designers and data folks! Keep it up!

Gates Opening for Open Trade

While many tend to take the lax approach some take time to open the world to alternative approaches for medicine. I would recommend to any and all for the up to date news and stock at the nearest dispensaries with deals, events and all else bud. Several of the features are next level legendary, such as “The Strain locator” feature and previously “The Review Board”. Super litty mobile app but with functionality issues. The mobile app and website aren’t cross compatible over device and issues continue arising within the congruency of a stores deals and there stores profile page. Seems to be an issue more so due to efficiency derived from greed and laziness, no offense meant here, in an industry that could use accurate and regular dispensary and/or distributor updates with “tested” product levels in every avenue of purchase. Hopefully this app can continue assisting with regulating for a better well being for all with focus on safely procuring approved products in “The Free Market”!

App bugged out but I still love Leafly

I absolutely love this app! I work at a dispensary in Oregon and this app is essential for us. It allows customers to shop for products from their couch, office, hiking trails, the grocery store — wherever there’s internet service, they can decide on what they want to pick up from us. In the past, I’ve used this app mainly at work on my computer there, but I wanted to download it on my phone so I could leave my own reviews for products I try. I was a little disappointed when Leafly wouldn’t open. When I tap on Leafly , it briefly brings up the loading screen (white screen with the this app logo), but crashes/closes within 10 seconds, bringing me back to my home screen.

I tried to troubleshoot this myself, but can’t find a way to make it work. I restarted my phone, reset my wifi, closed all apps and tried to open it, and made sure my iOS version was up to date. I am on iOS 12.4 on an iPhone X. Hopefully the developers can fix this bug soon! Luckily I can still use this app on my computer or my Safari browser on my phone, but I would love to dig into Leafly .

Research

I have been researching things since I was five years old. Armed with an inquisitive nature and an ability to read early I set out to get information at the local library. It was the only the beginning because I am still researching things at 63.
So I wanted to let you know that I was very impressed with the well full of information you have accumulated in products and their uses I especially like that you cross reference it represents validity and your passion for what you do which allows me to place trust in your size. Keep the people in your organization that perpetuate good information to your customers/clients. It’s the key to understanding one another as human beings is the reason communication and information are required to perpetuate success. Keep everyone that’s rowing that boat it comes to port on time every time. Thanks
Mr. Charlie

Broke their own app

I’m so disappointed to have to write this review- while the original version of Leafly wasn’t perfect (for example, not being able to search exclusively for categories of products, especially clones and seeds), Leafly was generally easy to use and the mapping system/strain reviews were awesome. In the updated app, it is no longer easy to access dispensary menus, which may take more than one format (just today I’ve seen Leafly display both a menu reminiscent of the older version and a new version that fits the aesthetic of the rest of the current app, for two different dispensaries in the same city). Also, somehow, they managed to destroy the map functionality, which was a foundational piece of Leafly’s success. Additionally, now it’s impossible (from all the attempts I’ve made, anyway) to view user submitted strain reviews, leaving you just with a star rating and the tantalizing number of reviews that it’s not going to let you look at. Why?!?! Hopefully the developers bother to read recent reviews rather than resting on the laurels of their thousands of good reviews from the halcyon days of the old version. Really a shame.

Logging me out

Been using Leafly for over a year going on two. I logged in and save every strain I experiment, but every. time. I get logged out when I go back in Leafly . I’ll login and it’ll run in the background, I’m fine. I close it, open it again, logs me out. I shouldn’t have to log in every time especially when I’m clicking the check mark for ‘keep me logged in,’ prior to logging into my account. It’s frustrating when I want to look at my strains, I know I can search them without being logged in but even the searching interaction is more than it needs to be. If I’m on the ‘strains’ tab and I click the search I don’t want to know about where different dispensaries are, I’m wanting to look up a strain! It’s just easy when I’m logged in and hit 2 buttons and every strain I saved is there. Strains> Favorites, done.

Well I wrote this review months and months ago and I’m here again because of the same issue. I logged in on the database after being signed out, and it put me to the desktop site through the this app app, and I swipe down to go back on my app and I’m still not signed in.

Please change to the old GUI we hate this one

First off a huge fan of your app this app since day one. This is not to trash your app but to help you understand how bad your new app looks. It is too complicated with too much detail that we barely care about. I think only growers might benefit from something of that format but everyone who i have spoken with on reddit and in person hates the new look. It is too much information when the original look of Leafly was the way to go. It was simple the colors were nice on the eyes. The information of what you was looking for in a strain was a delight. For instance Having the bars indicate how much the amount of happiness or stress relieving qualities the brand had. This old look did not look like a science text book. The old version helped us understand what we wanted to buy and use. If this is any consultation please revert back to the old look and if not people will probably find an alternative that looks better and as complicated there’s a few online already. So please bring the original look back. We need that simple style GUI back. Thank you.

A good app, but could use some improvements

Ive been using this app for years and Im thrilled to see dispensaries getting onboard for their ordering process. It makes it so much easier to shop as this app has the best strain encyclopedia out there so I no longer have to bounce between Leafly and whatever proprietary ordering process the shop might be using. I do think there could be some improvements, mainly in the user experience aspect. I would love if my sorting preferences (alphabetical, only certain categories of products) could be locked in so I don’t have to resort whenever I check my local shop’s page. Id also love if they implemented company pages for the different product companies, as many of them are small makers and itd be great to be able to look them up, especially when their strains dont have pages. Im much more likely to try an unknown strain if I can find a little info on the producer.

Bring back the old app

The new way of Looking up the THC CBD flavor and quality of the strain your looking for is not worth the hassle of memorizing what every different sign means (in order to figure out what you want to know you look a a wacky picture made out of shapes and based on the size of the shape and color it will tell you what type and if it’s more sativa or indica it use to be way simpler you look up your strain or look the the types between indica sativa and hybrids you didn’t have sit there with a key that tell you what the sign mean personally I don’t use Leafly every day but it was the only app I used to look up the type strain because you didn’t have to go the a bunch of different pictures to figure out what type of stain you had and what it was better for know what in anyway cause befor the would tell you the percentage of the THC or CBD not you get a picture of different size and color shapes bring the old app back please or fix the fact you don’t even tell us the percentage anymore

Leafly May Not Be The Best,But It’s The Best We Have ((PhatTommy Says))

Cannabis patients in Arizona (of which I am one) enjoy the very best Medical Cannabis choices of any state I know of. A minimum of regulatory state interference ensure potency, quality, and assortment from virtually all the Dispensaries I have visited. Having said that, the time and effort expended by this app on behalf of patients is the way that we all can fine the safe, powerful, and affordable medicines we all want. I would like to personally thank this app for enabling us to source all things Cannabis, whether it is the location of nearby Dispensaries, the latest medical updates, or a myriad of useful information. Once again, you, my friends, have every right to be proud of what you have done in the past, are doing now, and will do in the future. You are simply put, “THE BEST WE HAVE”. ((PhatTommy Says))

A “Must Have”

I’ve only been using MM a little over a year now and wish I found Leafly sooner. I started consuming edibles at first because I didn’t know much about strains and never had the chance to talk to someone at the store because they were always busy.

One day I decided to try smoking so picked a random strain for day/night. Some highs were awesome/ okay/ crap but if I had an app like this, I would’ve been able to narrow things down a lot quicker and pick strains based on the high I wanted to experience, along with other users personal feedback. I think many veteran users will also benefit from the wealth of knowledge available on each strain.

All in all, 10 ⭐️’s

Info cut off or not entered

Not sure whether this is the place for this—or if not, where that place is—but I figure this’ll get to the people who know where to direct it…

In my area, several dispensaries/companies have multiple locations. They also have names that take up all of that field in Leafly /on the site, so you have to figure out which dispensary you’re looking for by name & mileage. Ex: “Sunnyside Medical Cannabis Disp…” (There are 4-5 of these in my area…)

Often, the same goes for product. By the time you get through “Pharmacann/Matter 20-1…” the field is full, and there’s often little-to-no further info on the menu.

I know this is, in part, the fault of the dispensaries who enter their menus (and their location names, probably). But I also have to assume that this app can give them more characters in the “location name” and “product name/description” fields, so that we consumers using this app can figure out what we want to buy, and from where…

Generally, it’s a great app/site. We only started with MMJ recently—it’s a very different world than the high school/college market 35-40 years ago—and we’ve learned a lot from the articles & whatnot… But you can do better at helping us find the right strain from the right place…

Indica or Sativa? Update makes it nearly impossible to tell.

I’ve been using Leafly for four years, and as a medical patient, it’s always been my go-to to see what strains are currently offered at my local dispensary. Before the recent redesign of Leafly , every strain was categorized by color. Red for sativa, purple for indica, and green for hybrids. Now, every strain is green to match the new color scheme found throughout Leafly . I can no longer quickly discern what strain would work best for medication (sativas and sativa leaning hybrids for me) and which are not. Worse still, many strain descriptions lack any mention of the strains classification, leaving me having to use the filters to try to find strains that fit my needs. I won’t argue that Leafly looks much more modern and less early 2010s, but for whatever it gained in aesthetics, it’s lost everything for utility and simplicity. I sincerely hope that this app intends to reimplement the color coding system. Until then, finding the right medication has become much more difficult.

Best Cannabis app out there!!!!

Love Leafly have been with it since like 2009 or 2010 & still use since I need to find the 411 being that there is thousands of strains cross breed in last decade. There is still no other app I know with a catalog big like library of congress where all books are. Its perfect helps me choose strain to best fit my daily life. Since they are different the best way to distinguish between Sativa & indica or hybrid is looking at the buds, smelling, then finally taste. So i always check THC v CBD & trepene profile which all three interact to give u final result. Yes im a Cannabis enthusiast/ supporter specially medical for serious illness n then recreationally cuz dami near impossible to OD if you tried unless u have multiple things having u under the influence.

Used to be ok...

It’s getting worse with every update.

It’s confusing for users when Leafly ’s flow goes from a simple landing page with a simple search feature to... this mess with features that wander, a “home” screen that doesn’t feel like home at all...

If you got back to your actual home tonight and found a huge useless image pasted to the front, would it still feel like home to you?

Is it still “home” when someone moves the front door to the back, the garage to the second floor, and a (useful) search feature somewhere under the couch cushions?

No! You naughty people.

Next version? If this happens when I open Leafly , you win the universe:

1) A search bar is at the top of the screen, and it’s not completely dimwitted. It should handle strains and stores without additional taps.

2) I see a ribbon of *nearby* stores centered vertically and horizontally. I don’t mean “promoted” stores that are 50 miles away, but stores that are 50 yards away. I live 60 miles from a “nearby” and “promoted” store. Don’t show that. It’s just dumb. You’re not dumb, this app.

There’s a reason I don’t use Weedmaps. Please keep that reason alive. Do chest compressions. Get machines that go beep. Throw your app in the Lazarus Pit from Arrow.

Anything.

Just bring your app back alive. With the changes I’m whining about. Ok thanks.

Great service, garbage app

Seriously, I’ve kept quiet for long enough. Leafly is an absolute dumpster fire, worse than the website if that’s even possible. Sorting and filtering is completely broken, don’t even waste your time trying to find something using search or filters. Can’t order in Leafly . App is portrait orientation locked, even on an iPad. The updates section when viewing a dispensary on the website is not available anywhere in Leafly ; deals than more often than not have no label under the images, scrolling between them is a 50/50 shot whether I’l you’ll side scroll to the next tab or the subsequent deals that you were looking for (and have to click through 12 BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO VISIBLE LABELS). The user experience is the absolute worst of any app installed on my devices, no doubt about it. Congratulations, if you wanted to make the worst app you possibly could, you’ve succeeded.

By

I like the update but...

I like the update however I don’t like that I can’t just browse all the strains at once now, I have to pick a category and can then look at the cannabis for that category only. You should also have an option to just scroll through all the stains. Also it’s no longer easy to tell at a glance if a strain is indica, sativa or hybrid. Other then that, keep up the great work.

With all the designer strains these days it can be hard to choose the one that's right for you. Leafly gives you useful information on the most popular medical strains available. Very nice pictures, THC and CBD analysis, grow data, read users comments and learn the positive and negative effects of each strain. This is a must have app for anyone with a medical card or people who just want more info about strains they come by.

Bar graph system was the best part of Leafly

The most useful feature of this app has been completed erased with the addition of the stupid flower mandala system (which is not at all user friendly and I suspect wasn't tested with users prior to rollout). I used to be able to quickly and easily identify what strains were great for pain, anxiety etc with a quick glance. Now I can't even FIND that info at all other than it possibly being listed somewhere in the paragraph info. What I think you guys missed is a majority of users of both this app and cannabis are mainly concerned with treating specific symptoms they need help with and that is the most critical info to convey quickly. Of course some users are more interested in the chemical makeup but that is a much smaller percentage. Please bring the easy to use bar graph system back even if it means having both that and the flower mandala side by side.

Massive Downgrade

This was a 5 star app (and website) for me prior to the latest “upgrade”. A few friends who were fans have a similar view of the new version - universally hated.

I liked the simplicity of the old one to find a strain and at a glance see if it was a sativa, indica, or hybrid and scroll down for the effects most commonly experienced and the genetics. It was near perfect - EVERYTHING I wanted to know about a given strain at a quick glance - it was a brilliant design!

I loved the bar chart for effects - at a glance is it good for sleep, or relaxing, or giggly! (Love that description!). Some strains get me a bit anxious so I avoid those that showed on the old bar chart view as having a lot of reported anxiety. I can’t even find this info for some strains now.

There no way I’m going to memorize what each little shape and color means and try and figure it out. It don’t really care much about the terpenes, CBD levels, and individual reviews are pointless for me. Having more info on terpenes and cbd, etc is a benefit to some but seems like secondary info to drill down to with another click - same with individual reviews. Lead with a clear, simple summary of the strain - not marginally useful details / noise.

In summary, this app went from an awesome, useful tool for making decisions on strains and informing me about strains to being of little to no use for me. Bummer...

So much info made simple

Love Leafly as a MM user. At local licensed dispensaries I got so overwhelmed with all the options and brands and names and flavors and strains and hybrids it’s too much! I got a mm card to help with my anxiety issues but just walking into a dispensary was a challenge. Leafly really brakes it all down. Want to chill? Get blackberry. Newbie? Be careful with these few. Want to focus on a task, Durban poison. Learning so much! Let’s u favorite what u like or want to check out, allows you add your own notes in addition to what is provided, and shows you where certain products are available in your area (however im not sure this part is super accurate but still helpful) Thanks so much this app!

Location and Law Confusion

I live in Baltimore, Maryland.. I’m a medical marijuana patient and of course medical marijuana is legal in my state.. I am able to search the dispensaries best me, but if I click on a particular one, I get the error message “medical or recreational marijuana is not legal in your state, please contact your local representatives”, yet as I said it is in fact legal here... this app blamed the problem on that I’m an iPhone user however my location services are turned “on” and unlike issues with other apps, Apple and my carrier seem unaware it says issue..
Other than not being able to use the site to its full legal potential, I absolutely LOVE this site!!! For someone who’s been smoking awhile now but is really very naive to the “ifs, ands or buts”if marijuana, this site is amazing! It will tell you which strains are good for what purposes, what the qualities of said strain are (down to components of smell), which dispensaries near you sell it and how much even!

Industry worker concerns!

I usually use Weedmaps because of the consistency of THC/CBD READINGS. I’ve noticed I can’t see close ups of products and for some reason if there’s a THC reading it doubles and won’t show CBD but it will have the THC with the % on both sides not revealing CBD, unless there’s no THC readings. In that case it shows no reading on THC but also it will show CBD as well with no readings. I’ve looked through 4-5 dispensaries and same thing for all of them. I’ve been working on updating our menus in-store, Weedmaps and this app throughly and throughout my work days along with my other receptionists. From the computer we use to update this app isn’t reflecting the same info on the this app app. What’s going on?! Customers mostly go by THC/CBD readings to determine if they want to come to our dispensaries. If it’s not giving accurate information how will future or existing customers know what they are going in for?
