You guys race bait… Terrible!!!!

You seem to promote a significant number of articles promoting white anger. From Critical Race Theory to articles saying whites should be eliminated to articles promoting a democratic effort to encourage immigration votes to sway elections to articles about confederate monuments…. This list of articles is as long as the space available on the web app to show any articles. I know that chaos sells, but to promote chaos is borderline criminal. There are far more instances of love and harmony in the world than the ratio of poor race-baiting reporting that you guys promote. I would have to assume the editors of this site have some deep seated insecurities about themselves to continue to clear these articles. Or, God forbid, they are evil and want to see people die. No one can deny the cruel and murderous history of America, but there is no plot being planned to eliminate white people. There are however efforts to live in a more just society, valuing each and every life with the same love and concern. I would ask that you stop race-baiting, and start highlighting more love and paying more attention to articles highlighting those who are fighting against a more just and loving society/county. God bless the USA.

Stolen minutes of my life...

The news is good, only if you don’t care about editing. Sometimes the stories could use a little more substance and the writing could actually be done by journalists instead of what seems like elementary students. The ads are the worst though. The Newzit ads that they sold out to, are trashy and you see them in every article. Images pop up that I wouldn’t want my kids to see. It’s clear that the DM has no standards. Their regular ads are inconvenient and noisy as well. You might be really into a touching news story, and while you scroll through the pictures some loud video selling some irrelevant product pop up. And when you try to hit the “x” to close it, it’s only a fake one, so it takes you to the website instead. So much for the story you were reading. At this point you just want to throw your phone against the wall out of frustration. Why do I use DailyMail ? It used to be good. Everyday I hold on to the dream that the DM will return to their ideals and create journalism that changes us as a society for the better. Not just click-bate stories that are inconclusive and speculative at best.

Pleasantly Surprised

So, I had never even seen the daily mail prior to downloading DailyMail . I downloaded all the news apps I could find. I wanted to see what had interesting content as well as informative. Daily mail is now my go to news site because they have the political news mixed with the salacious news stories you cannot find anywhere else. All the stories are highly, highly detailed and comprehensive often with videos and always with probably more pictures than you need, although I appreciate them as they help to put you inside the story.

This might be my second online review. I wish I didn’t like the daily mail and it was the Wall Street journal I liked better so I sound more sophisticated, but not so... anyway. Just go to the website, check out both the UK and Us sections... oh and us citizens, vote in Nov (regardless of your political leaning go vote).

Used to be great

I used to love DailyMail, I opened it first thing in the morning and again in the evening when it would update. What is going on with these pop up videos though? They make it impossible to read an article as three will pop up at a time and when you exit out they just pop up again. I mean you CANNOT read anything in here anymore DailyMail seriously doesn’t work. It is so frustrating. They pop up whether you watch the whole thing or click out immediately. It’s become completely unusable. Before all that happened though I loved daily mail. The grammar and actual content is pretty bad, but they break stories before anyone else and have pictures most others can’t seem to get. I barely read the articles, because they’ll post the same one literally verbatim everyday. However if you just skim through the title and bullet points and a few pictures you’ll get the jist of what’s going on. If they could fix whatever is going on with their ads I would give a better rating but this bug is ridiculous.

Content often suspect, but app is down right annoying.

While Mail online content is often suspect as they draw from many different sources and rarely fact check they do have a good round up of the news which I then check against more reliable sources. And don’t ever expect the articles to be written with good English. The main reason I’m giving DailyMail a low rating is for the constant advertisements that they throw at you. They are highly annoying. Videos pop up and Banner ads pop up constantly interfering with the reading of the material in DailyMail . While I’ve been able to block the majority of these annoying ads on my home computer I am unable to do so on my iPad and iPhone. Furthermore DailyMail constantly freezes on me. At first I thought it was because my phone is about four years old, but I have a new iPad and DailyMail still freezes on there. I’m constantly deleting and reinstalling it. Just going to give up with it on the smart phone and the iPad and just going to read it on the computer.

BIASED AS PHUCK!

This website is full of fake journalist who has a writing educational level of a 3rd grader. Their headlines are always racially charged to invoke anger and will take a news story that has nothing to do with race and turn it into what they need to fit their agenda. They claim to have "news" stories that are not news at all and have nothing to do with anything. If your comments on their articles don't fit their agendas they don't post them. They put their own personal opinions and claim them to be facts, or they just put whatever they think will get people's attention, such as making a generative racially charged article. They have no real "sources" to anything they write and literally just make stuff up as they go, without proofreading and sometimes even literally just copy the same paragraphs over and over to take up space on the page. These people are a joke who think they know everything about America yet are based in Europe.

Miserable pop-up interference

It is so unbelievably frustrating that thus app allows constant harassment of pop-up for their viewers. It started that they would pop up and you could immediately close them. Then you had to wait 5 seconds to be allowed to close. Just now it was 25 seconds and they are popping up every 30 seconds or so. It’s just miserable when you are trying to read an article and it is constantly being broken up.
The thing I find incredible is that any of these marketing “professionals” think you will actually purchase these stupid games! I would never even consider it, no matter how appealing they may be, because of the way they are being shoved down our throats. Idiots! It’s too bad because the content is timely and excellent.

This is 80% ads, with bits of poorly edited copy in between

I stopped reading online and switched to DailyMail (which DM pushed readers to do) because the online site was perpetually susceptible to bugs and page detour traps.
DailyMail loads easily, but the Ads are out of hand. The upper and lower ads cover 80 percent on my phone viewing screen. This obscures the articles to the point you can’t read the stories and goodness help you trying to find a way to click back or if you accidentally touch one of these ads trying to escape.
The paper’s editing and proofing has been poor since they developed DailyMail , but the ads are the final straw. Get your act together, DM. You get the news so quickly but you screw up the easy part of the reporting. I would pay to remove the ads but then I’d be really mad if you didn’t start trying harder to be s better quality product.

Lots of content, poor writing

So, DM is a rag. Plenty of freshly uploaded content, but I’m convinced that the articles are written by non-English speakers; I would even guess the words are recorded and then transcribed by a non-English speaker, because typos, poor grammar and words inserted without proper context are common. I doubt articles are proofread, but if I happen to read a well-written article, I’m sure to mention it in the comments.

If you’re looking for pictures of awards shows or the royal family, DM does a pretty good job there. What annoys me about their picture captions is that it’s the exact same verbiage in the article, with the same typos and incorrect wording. Often, you don’t have to read the article; flip through the pictures and read the captions.

Another annoying aspect of the site is that videos start playing on the lower right if you scroll past it. I’ve tried looking for an opt-out feature, to no avail. If an article has several videos, I’m always clicking the X as I scroll to make it go away. Bloody annoying. Stop forcing this feature!!!

Don’t take any information you read on DM as gospel. If you see an intriguing headline, get the gist from DM and go to a reputable news site for confirmation.

Still redundant commercials!!

After I posted a year ago that they have redundant 30 second commercials you would think they would have fixed it. Especially since I know that many many others have posted the same thing. I don’t want to watch the same 30 second clip 20x while trying to read the news. And it is appalling to have a 30 second video trying to sell you something before you watch a video of a crime, victims or accidents. I can’t believe you are trying to make money off of those things. It’s really sad. I will never buy the product of the video I have to watch over and over and over. It’s a waste for BOTH of us!! Ughhh. I used to love DailyMail. And now it dos not my fave. Which is really sad. And I’m also tired of reading one sided news. I definitely know who DailyMail stands behind and who it doesn’t. And I wish it was just NEUTRAL!! But good luck finding that anywhere!! Frustrated big time!!!

Farewell old friend.... Recent changes to the experience in the app have me saying “Bon voyage!”

Let me start with how much I loved DailyMail. I used it every day, checked it morning noon and night for updates. However, I recent noticed how poor quality DailyMail really is. You have to press the ‘X’ several times when trying to close an ad, and I mean SEVERAL. The ads they make you watch before seeing a video won’t load, which in turn means your video doesn’t load. THE WORST PART OF DailyMail is the most recent changes where scrolling through stories they force video ad to open up, taking over your entire screen. You close the video, barely scroll any and POOF it opens again... yeah not putting up with that. Not worth it. Hopefully for the sake of other users they will fix these issues, otherwise they will lose more viewers, such as myself.

What happened?

I used to love this app, but the omnipresent & intrusive pop up ads were the deal breaker. I deleted DailyMail & the web version is even worse. Also, they have an inscrutable filtering practice for comments. Most comments are never posted & the interface on DailyMail offers you no easy way to see your posted comments or revisit then & only occasionally would I get emails that someone had replied to a post, but the link takes you to the story header not the comment. I’m not going to sift through 1,000 comments to find mine. Anyway, it’s far more entertaining for me to get my news on other online sources with better interfaces & tremendously more subtle ads. Too bad. Despite the appalling lack of journalistic standards in writing, spelling & editing for clarity, I still did find DM worth it for a time. No longer. *App Happily Deleted*

Ruined by ads and repetitive info

I echo the same observations as most recent reviewers... I used to use DailyMail and read the news regularly. The articles were always a bit annoying due to the same info being repeated 3-4 times in the synopsis, under photos, and in the article itself — but at least DailyMail was usable. Suddenly it’s become completely unusable due to a wonky interface and a tidal wave of ads. Clicking on any article no longer opens the article itself, but takes you to a second Newzit page where you have to scroll again to find your article headline — all while being besieged by popup ads that continuously refresh the screen, knocking you out of place while reading. I’ve had enough — I’ve deleted DailyMail and will never again bother with the site.

Use to the 1 stop news shop until the adds

DailyMail use to be the absolute best ever until they put all of the pop up adds on it. You can’t click on pictures without at least 4 pop up adds interrupting your screen. Which your forced to watch and wait until their done playing before you can even close them out. Most times there’s no X and if there is you can access it until you watch the add.
I find myself closing the screen more than I do open it and I use to be in this site all the time. It’s a shame they allowed pop up adds to completely take over their site! Don’t waste your time it’ll just irritate you and waste your time because you won’t even be able to fully see any of the pictures without being interrupted and irritated a hundred times!!!!

Get More News!

The U.S. version of the Daily Mail online often provides both American and international news that I don’t see elsewhere. In addition, stories are updated quickly and it’s often the best source for breaking news details. The comments are my favorite! They frequently number in the thousands on popular articles and reveal a wide array of strong opinions. One word of caution: If you are a Grammar Queen or King, the DM can be exasperating! They have actually improved, but some articles are still rife with errors. Try the DM for a week or two. I think you’ll enjoy it!

Used to be the best! Keeps freezing up!!

PLEASE FIX DailyMail!!! It is mind blowing that the DM would allow for this terrible functioning of an app to be available with as many readers as they have. I can’t go 15 secs into an article without it totally freezing up. I then have to shut it down completely & then reopen. Most of the time it freezes while scrolling through the articles after that. This has been going on for MONTHS!!!! I have not seen a single update for DailyMail. I keep hoping an update pops up when I go to DailyMail Store but alas, I’m disappointed every time. As an American, I love the DM because they report on things that are not reported on in the US. I just wish they would get their crap together & FIX DailyMail !!!!! Surely it wouldn’t take much to get this issue resolved. They’re upsetting a great number of their readers with this!!!

Ads...ads...ads...🤯😡

I get it. You need ads to make additional money for your company but come on. I have to close and open DailyMail for it to be useful. It’s annoying when you just want to read the “news” and sip some “coffee” in the morning. I only have 2 stars because of the content. Please give us a break on the ads. You have enough on your website. Btw it has to load 50+ ads if you don’t have an adblocker. Which they’ve now blocked browsing the site if you have it enabled. There’s always something running in the background. If you want people to use your app and view your site, give us a break on the ads. I hate myself for making this next statement.... or make it a .99 subscription for ad free content (ducking all the stones being thrown🤷🏾‍♀️🙍🏾‍♀️) At least we’d get to view something in peace.

DM: You Just Lost a Daily Reader. I’m Deleting this App.

I love DM, and I’ve commented on many articles throughout the years. Yet, today is the 2nd time, in about a month, I have been banned (for life) from commenting with no explanation given, whatsoever. I can be opinionated, but I do not curse, or personally insult others. I see many commenters get away with offenses like these all the time, btw. I’m done. This is a stupid move on their part, as they really were my favorite online paper. I checked DailyMail regularly, everyday. NO MORE. I’m deleting it. I encourage anyone else who is against the recent rise of censorship, in Western nations, to do the same. The moderators must not like my politics. That’s been getting people banned from various platforms. I’m not one-sided. In fact, I’m very open-minded, but I am Libertarian. This is still too far right (I guess)? #StopTheBias

App support & commenting useless

I have had DailyMail for years. Under the same name and account. Well suddenly when I click on my profile it says it’s there and then we can’t find anything under votes comments or anything else. I contact app support. Their answer is... it takes a few hours for comments to show. I respond and say okay but it doesn’t show anything in my profile at all. No response. Nothing is showing up but my name and where I am from. So trying to report a problem and being a part of the online community is a lost cause. I don’t know if you suddenly changed something or if the lackluster idea of not caring about readers has been here all along.
There are other sites to go to and from the looks of the reviews here it doesn’t look like you are listening to us.

Very Helpful But Defective for Tolerating Censorship

I have enjoyed news at this app for many years. Frequently it brings news that other news outlets do not bring. But there is a very SERIOUS problem. Whenever I want to express my opinion, for example, on a report about Muslims invading Europe or raping European girls, this app NEVER publishes my comments against the perpetrators. For years I have tried to comment about it but the censorship machine at this app does not approve comments that are not favorable to Islam and its violent adherents. Please, abolish this censorship machine!

Arbitrarily blocks viewers comments

I am in the US and like this paper because it reports news that US media do not. The spelling and grammar are atrocious!! They constantly repeat sentences and even paragraphs. They don’t seem to check their own work or have an editor to do so, either. They hurl insults or write propaganda about people and things they do not like. They are obsessed with telling us how much celebrities (and others) cars, houses, clothing and jewels cost. But, the very worst part is how they stridently suppress reader’s comments. They have a nonsensical list of words or phrases that will keep your comment from being posted. And, they don’t tell you what they are. And, they block many readers from making ANY comments, but do not tell them WHY. All of this is very frustrating, since we actually WANT to read their news page. Time to hire some grown up, trained reporters and a copywriter editor!

Good news app, though lots of typos and repetitive wording

This is one of my few go to daily news apps and I check it multiple times a day. Great variety of stories including many I see here before they show up on other sites. So it is great to have and I recommend downloading it.

On the negative side, many articles seem to be hastily or automatically generated, or dictated with transcription errors. They are full of sloppy language errors, unclear references, and the same sentences repeated multiple times in the same article. Also, videos often load very slowly so there can be a long wait before they start - even for very short videos.

By

Good

I enjoy getting my news from DM since they include around the world issues but the only draw back is that they clearly are not objective when it comes to certain people and it shows in their headlines. They obviously hate Republicans & a few celebrities. It would be nice to read news where the headlines and stories were more objective then reading the story and knowing the writer does or doesn’t like the person. They get news at fast as well but need to take more time editing the content since so many errors are found & relying to much on “sources” instead of facts. But no news media is perfect but find I like DM the best.

By

Take note, editors

Variety of stories is interesting and entertaining. Facts are not always prioritized as highly as they should be. Writers appear to have limited knowledge of content , for example, describing an actor with a recent affiliation rather than what he has been known for. Headlines are way too inflammatory. Best news app for photos and details surrounding a news worthy event. Worst thing is adding content onto an existing story and not updating prior content. For example, the story was updated to say someone has died, but lower paragraphs still say the person is in critical condition in the hospital.

My #1 Go TO App

Want to be the smartest person in the room? Want to appear like you are worldly and know what is going on in the world & nation? Download DailyMail now!! You won’t regret it. This is by far my favorite app! I check it at least a few times a day.

I get world and national news 8 hours before anyone I know including my father who super smart.

He is up way earlier than me, reading many different news sites online and newspapers while listening to a podcast and watching the news and yet I still get important news a good 8 hours before he does because of this new app! I just wait until later in the day for him to read “breaking news” and want to discuss it which I already knew hours ago all bc of DailyMail.

It is worth it to look pass the grammatical errors and repeating sentences, because the Golden news nugget is buried between these minor issues.
