Room for improvement

The content is really great, and very good quality. Though we’re still far from the Netflix of music classic. App needs some polish and the servers tend to struggle with the load, lots of interruptions when playing videos or quality drops from time to time. An app for Apple TV and Google TV is also much needed.

iPad version offline video not working

First off, great contents! iPhone version seems to be working fine with downloading offline videos but the iPad version is so buggy with this feature. Please fix!

By

Eugene Onegin

The video goes blank (or rather black) and the streaming desnt always work, stopping every few minutes. Disappointing. Why not offer a much larger variety of operas and concerts?

By

Commentary

I love hearing from musicians about major artists. This provides such a broad choice of music, as well.

Ok but not great

Good content but the search feature is limited. Need ability to narrow the search with filters.

By

Outstanding content! No crashing with iPhone 6

The content in medicitvclassicalmusic is mouth watering for classic music lovers. Easy to navigate. Music and performances load right away in decent resolution quality. I have an iPhone 6 Plus and have not experienced the crashes other reviewers complained about. The navigates between music pieces without trouble.

Keeps logging me out

Logs me out over and over; when I try to log back in it won’t; when I click on forgot password link it sends nothing; no customer service link in app.

Needs an Apple TV app

A wonderful service inexplicably lacking an Apple TV app. AirPlay is a work around, but not a very convenient one. Please develop an app for Apple TV!

By

App rarely works for Apple mirroring

Terrible app constantly crashes and has poor connection with Apple TV. Think twice before you use

By

Needs attention

Search menu is limited, non existent help section, mirroring from devices is challenging.

By

Poor interface

Incomprehensible app.

Hopefully you can help.

Thanks

Excellent content, good app

I’ve been a subscriber for a few years now. The content is wonderful. So much to choose from. Recent and historical. Across a wide range of artists, composers, modalities. Production quality is usually very good. medicitvclassicalmusic itself (as opposed to the content) has come a long way and is now perfectly adequate. The only reason I gave this four stars rather than five is because medicitvclassicalmusic can still be improved, but it’s entirely usable as is.

While it would be greatly advantageous to have a native app for platforms like Roku and Apple TV that are run straight from a TV, that’s not relevant to evaluating the iPad app itself. I do think Medici TV would realize a significant pick-up in subscribers if it could expand to platforms like Roku, which are not only more convenient when using a TV but would also allow for better audio (and perhaps video) than can be accomplished by broadcasting from the iPad to TV via Airplay.

Great content, horrible service

I love the concerts and documentaries, but the website, and especially medicitvclassicalmusic are not up to the same standard. medicitvclassicalmusic will not allow scrubbing of the video, so if you've watched half of an hour long video and have to close medicitvclassicalmusic , you have to start from the beginning. At least the concerts have a menu for separate movements. medicitvclassicalmusic search does not bring up even half the results that you get on the website, and wouldn't you think with hundreds of items to choose from, that there would be a way to make a watch list or at least mark as favorites? As much as I would like to have access to the service, it's much too frustrating for the subscription fees.

Piece of Crap

Have tried to use medicitvclassicalmusic for a month. Paid $150 annually (upfront) for full version. Confusing main page, very limited controls for playing videos of recorded concerts. If you pause video reply medicitvclassicalmusic often freezes, requiring app restart. Can't use slider to advance or go back on video reply. Contacted customer service (only option: email) about problem. 3 days later I got reply with instructions to use Airplay-she didn't even read my email. I tried to cancel subscription renewal. With 11 months left they cancelled me immediately with NO pro rata refund. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!

Technical Frustrations, Great content

Subtitles don't stream to the TV during Airplay (and they stopped updating their AppleTV app) which means you have to watch everything on your device if you want subtitles. also, airplay is glitchy and sometimes you can't start or stop it when you want to. Those items aside, I like a lot of their content. It would be nice to be able to filter by instrument.

Great quality!

Very simple to use and the quality is excellent! I have new musicians that I would have never been exposed to! Bravo!

Happy with recent app improvements

For years medicitvclassicalmusic failed to behave like a proper media app: did not respond to media controls and support iPad PIP etc. it’s much better now and doesn’t get in the way of enjoying the wonderful and copious content.

I dropped my Berlin Philharmonic subscription because the variety here is better (opera, ballet, solo performances, chamber music).

The only thing missing is Apple TV app.

Cant save videos on iPhone

I’m having problems both on iPad and iPhone. On iPhone it reaches 100% but won’t save the video. On iPad I play the video and medicitvclassicalmusic freezes, and when I try to reboot medicitvclassicalmusic it keep freezing, so I can’t pause, choose another video or anything else

By

App has a long way to go...

I paid for a year subscription on the website, but medicitvclassicalmusic did not recognize my subscription, even though it recognized my login. I then paid for a month through medicitvclassicalmusic to hold me over while their “support team” could sort out the technical issue. 3 weeks and 5 emails later, I have yet to hear any response from them other than their automated email. The content is good but medicitvclassicalmusic is extremely glitchy and the support team is non-existent.

By

Content just OK, iOS app useless

Confusing interface, buggy, a total ripoff considering the subscription cost. Just try saving something for offline viewing on a flight... to be able to use medicitvclassicalmusic at all you must first login! Not online? Can't login... and medicitvclassicalmusic is entirely disabled! But then it turns out you can't really save anything to your iPad anyway... after a very slow download it gets stuck forever on "Saving - 100%" but never actually saves anything.

Wonderful content horrible app

medicitvclassicalmusic itself is very inconsistent. It does not work with AirPlay as it should. Often I cannot get it to work at all. I really have no interest in watching a concert on a phone or sitting at my desk to watch on my computer. Why on earth have you resisted in developing a native app for AppleTV?
However on the times I do get it to work through AirPlay, the content is wonderful.

By

A front for a $20/month subscription

What a disappointment to find that virtually every program you might like to watch requires a costly subscription. I find $20/month to be excessive for iPad video when I have to purchase the data from my carrier for streaming it too. There appears to be much good content, but most of it is old--still good probably, but there will not be much new to keep me interested.

By

Disappointed

Very frustrating to say the least. After paying not a small sum for a premium yearly membership virtually every video on my iPad has problems. None will work. I keep getting either a spinning circle or an arrow with a line across it. It does work on my computer but I got this to use with my new iPad Pro.

Terrible service

Wonderful concept. We meed more classical music in all its forms — ballet, opera, concerts, interviews, etc. But this is a terrible app. Customer service has auto reply saying they will get back to you...and then don’t. Can’t access anything on ipad. Just continues to buffer. And they don’t refund your monies. It’s robbery. Be forewarned. Don’t sign up for this.

Great! Though, offline videos feature doesn’t work on my iPad. That’s bad for me when I travel to places I have no access to good internet connection or no service at all. Other than that, it helps me to keep up to date on performances and performers at a high quality steaming. I watch/listen to 5 or 6 performances a week as well as master classes sometimes.

Got the App for birthday. Music and variety look great, but the APP is frustratingly useless. Very difficult to find your way around, illogical, confusing and extremely buggy. I'm trying to link it from a pretty new iPad to our up to date Apple TV. Just won't have it. I'll keep plodding on for a few more hours as the content looks so good - but wouldn't recommend it unless you've plenty of perseverance.
