I tried checking in on both the phone app and the website but it would not work with multiple tries entering my name different ways.

Finally I called the phone number and someone told me I had to enter my name of any specific way. “FAMILY/FIRST MIDDLE”

I recommend that you put on your website the specific format that the name must be entered. It will not only save your customers lots of time it will also keep your customers from having to call your phone number and use your service representatives time.

Have traveled around the world often, air China is my favorite. Considering the price and crowded travelers, the crew try their best to provide their best service, and you can tell they always place safety first. Just took CA983 from BJ to LA on Sunday (Nov 24th, seat 17J).

The treatment of a one million miler member of United and star alliance gold member for more than 15 years is really bad. I can’t select a good seat checking in on AirChina as it doesn’t recognize my status, I can’t get upgrades and the worst point is that I have to use the airport lounge V8 having more than 15’ walk back and forth from the departing gate. The service inside the planes of air China is fantastic. I hope this trouble with the service checking in and with AirChina can be fixed ASAP. Thanks

The sw is junk. You can not delete your information. It is so difficult to use and navigate. They announced big sale, I checked again and again, no change in price. There is zero confidence in using AirChina to book a flight. So I decided to delete my information but now I can’t.
You won’t believe that with such a big airline company you can have such dumb software, not only AirChina but their desktop website too.

Having hard time to register my account - it requires verification via phone but assumes all users are using a Chinese number? When I chose “overseas”, I was asked to send a text message to a number that does not work in either US or China with error messages every time. When I tried to update my info, it seemed every step needed a minute or so to get in the system. Frustrating to use AirChina !

I’m sure AirChina works great if you are a Chinese citizen, but it won’t accept my US passport number to pull up my flight. An error message instructs me to manage my ID in the ID management center, but even with my passport number inputted there it still doesn’t give me the option to enter a passport number instead of an ID card. So I have no way of pulling up my flight in AirChina in order to check in :(

I used to love an older version of Air China app back when I lived in the country. I’m recently traveling to China again with this airline and I logged in for the first time in a very long time… and I see no trip information, no history of travel, no anything. Even attempt to manually putting in the ticket number in hoping to add trip failed. I remembered it wasn’t like this before. Such a shame.

Currency keeps going back to Chinese yen even though I put other forms of currency, App is in English and I’m in Japan but it thinks I want Chinese yen every time. Got a flight but wasn’t given and order number, confirmation number, seat, or anything. Extra charges were added after I bought the flight. What a disaster.

Website is well organized and Very easy to navigate

I am in the process of creating a new account and logging in (Overseas User). It keeps saying to verify via email and a verification email has been sent to my email. However I have checked both inbox and junk; I do not see the verification email. Is this a bug? Has anyone else had the same issue? I just want to log in and check my trip and all. HELP!

I only write reviews for apps that give me the worst user experience, and this is one of them. Despite all its fancy UI update, the password field only allows me to enter digits? Really? I cannot even log in! And this is not the first time I have login problems with them. I am a Chinese user living abroad, why can’t they have just one database for all their users?

If you don’t feel like wasting hours of your day for an airline error, or being asked to pay for that error, or if you are looking for a level of reasonable customer service, do not look here. These folks are unreasonable and completely uncaring about mistakes that they make. You’ll save time and money booking somewhere else.

App crashes on iPhone during payment

This’s the first time I gave one star (I would give zero if I could). I wasted one hour just trying to check in and it crashes every time after you typed all your personal information. Worst app I’ve ever used and I can’t believe they allow this kind of trash to be published to App Store.

I just wanna check in and struggled with the name field that only allows one string without space, until I saw someone’s negative review that you have to put it in last name/first name format, which is not specified anywhere in AirChina ... And the UI looks like work from first year school student, with typos and grammar errors.

Would be great if we can download the PDF ITINERARIES automatically instead of applying for by providing ticket number, name and flight date...

Really easy and convenient

Even after AirChina sends a notification that one can check-in for a flight, trying to do so is not allowed as “no flights are available for check-in now”. Very frustrating.

“Oops, no trip for service check in of this passenger” - that’s the message I keep getting on this useless app, which I downloaded in hopes that it would be less useless than the Air China website, which also did not let me check in.

Don’t know why there’s a large amount of negative reviews. It’s not the best but still not the worst. It’s the most reliable airline when you travel around China. Some international flights are satisfying as well. AirChina is easy-to-use and I haven’t encountered any weird error yet.
