Developers thought of everything!

Mostly using this to track breastfeeding since we brought our little one home 7 weeks ago. It shows you how long it’s been since you've nursed and which side was your last. Recently, I was finding it frustrating that the screen would auto lock after the max 5 min window Apple gives you but I discovered that in the settings you can turn off auto lock if you have a timer going! Amazing! It’s a small thing but huge for when you have a baby in your arms and you only have one hand or maybe you don’t want to disturb the baby’s latch to keep your phone awake. Makes timing the nursing sessions so much easier and accurate. The graphs and timeline that autogenerate are interesting and helpful in gaining insight into your little one’s behaviors. I don’t usually write reviews but BabyConnect blows me away with how thorough and well thought out it is. 5 out of 5 stars!

Tracks literally everything, good automation support

I’ve tried most f the popular baby tracking apps on BabyConnect Store, and while Baby Connect isn’t the most polished, the amount of features, the easy syncing across devices (it can even sync ongoing timers!), and Alexa/Siri support really put BabyConnect over the others for me.

There are some small issues but functionally BabyConnect is really solid.

In terms of features I’d like to see, BabyConnect currently supports iOS shortcuts, but BabyConnect doesn’t actually show up in the shortcuts app, you can only create one off Siri responses. I would love to be able to create custom iOS shortcuts where you can read data from BabyConnect and build more complex logic.

Great app but they don’t take security seriously

This is a great app but they don’t take cybersecurity seriously. All the information you enter is stored on the cloud but it is only protected with a simple password. In 2022, that is NOT enough to keep your cloud data secure (ask any certified cybersecurity professional). When I asked about it, their support replied it isn’t in any near future plans. It’s too bad, because BabyConnect itself is very well done. It syncs between multiple people pretty seamlessly. It has great Siri shortcuts (I have yet to see if they work with HomeKit though). It even covers multiple babies well, including twins (which we just had).

So for me, this is a risk. I haven’t decided if we’ll be subscribing yet. I’ll be researching competitive apps to see if there are others who do take cybersecurity seriously. 2 stars removed for this.

Using again with our second baby

Absolutely love BabyConnect! We used it religiously with our first daughter and now using it religious again with our second. If you stay on top of entering data it can be incredibly helpful to track trends overtime, and now to track differences between our two daughters. Great to see how long you’re nursing, how long each day on each side, wake windows, diapers, etc.. as a data person BabyConnect leaves nothing else. So grateful for something with customization that is just flat out easy to use.

Crashing and price change

[update] emailed their support email and got a response same day (on a Saturday) so was impressed with their support response and they got an update out the same day for fixing the crash issue. I would of given 5 stars but I’m not in agreement with the change in their pricing model for those who already downloaded BabyConnect and paid. Should honor the grandfathered users to be able to add new profiles since we bought BabyConnect with the understanding it would be for our current and future children.

Latest update changed pricing model and now crashes upon opening, cannot log anything or use it and now will need to pay a subscription fee for the next child. Not what I signed up for

Love This App, But There Are Bugs

I love BabyConnect, but (as with all apps) there are “quirks”. BabyConnect is so smooth and mostly seamlessly syncs across users—I wish it were a little cleaner looking just aesthetically and that some functions were more obvious, but overall good.
I’ve had an issue a handful of times, though, where BabyConnect just loses my data from the day and I can no longer see a running list but just a super zoomed out graph. I just hope I don’t lose any milestone information because of it in the long run. I’m sometimes slow to copy it over into my notebook! I think the issue might just be space related. Definitely hope they sync to cloud or some similar service in the future!

Great app but with 1 caveat

First off, BabyConnect is worth the money. I’m happy I got it for my partner and I. 10 bucks well spent. It’s features are very useful intuitive, customizable, and it syncs well. It’s bare bones but well developed, which says loads about how good the developer incorporates feedback.

1 big thing that prevents me from giving it 5 stars is the lack of sleep input. We have a 4 week old who has had very bad sleep. 2 hours at night and 30 min to 1 hour naps during the day. The competing app Huckleberry has a predictive sleep timer and schedule that is very useful. I really wish this one did too. If it did, I would rate it my number 1 baby logging app.

Was a Great app, but watch app doesn’t work

Update: subscription model is bad. BabyConnect was barely worth the $10+ we paid for it two years ago, no way it’s worth $60/year. Clunky, ugly UI. Broken watch app. I’ve read about their cloud storage costs, blah blah blah. Those who paid for BabyConnect should get what they paid for, including multiple children accounts.

One of the main reasons I paid for BabyConnect was the corresponding app on the watch. I have not been able to get the watch app to work at all. The phone app is great though! I didn’t find BabyConnect the most intuitive to use, but I’ve gotten the hang of it now. I mostly use to log diapers and nursing. I love that it tracks which side you left off on when nursing. The graphs and timelines have also been really helpful to track patterns.

Exactly what you’re looking for

BabyConnect is amazing. It allows me to keep track of all important data and keeps my husband and I on the same page. I am a first time mom with a child with a complicated medical outlook, which required monitoring his output and input regularly. BabyConnect has assisted me in that endeavor and insured my success. It is also the best with regards to feeding. It has allowed me to track my own output, as a first timer breastfeeding, track trends, and keep track of pumping, etc.

There is nothing negative to say about BabyConnect! It’s worth every penny!

This App runs our life!

My husband and I welcomed our first child 3 weeks ago and BabyConnect has been a complete life saver. Being able to both keep track of feeds and dirty diapers has made life so much easier, and having the information right at our fingertips is priceless. We were able to see trends in his feeding times, dirty diapers, and weight in order to accurately report his progress to the doctor. Even the lactation consultant was impressed! We will continue to use BabyConnect as our baby grows to help us monitor his intake and growth!

Love this app!

I started using BabyConnect 7 years ago for my first kid and use it to this day for my youngest. It’s a must-have during the baby years! But it grows with the kids and is super helpful in so many ways. For toddlers it’s great for introducing foods and monitoring reactions and keeping track of what picky eaters enjoy. It’s great for potty training and tracking progress. I also use it for tracking symptoms whenever they are unwell (especially during the pandemic when I need to be very clear on actual symptoms). I highly recommend it!

Awesome app

We love BabyConnect! My kids got it 8 years ago so we can all keep track of my granddaughter’s feedings, diaper changes and daily needs. This helped to keep us all in the know of what, why, when and what for of her daily little life no matter which grandparents house she was at or at home. Everyone keeping track allowed all of us to stay informed. Here we are 8 years later and we are using this same app again for granddaughter number two! Thank you!

Now monthly purchase

I bought BabyConnect when searching for an app to track my breastfeeding for my first child. I gladly paid the $4.99 and paid for it for my husband and nanny so we could all sync up. I have love BabyConnect and loved that it kept everything stored and kept adding the kids height and weight at their well visits each year. I have since used BabyConnect for 2 other kids. I recently had my 4th child and began using BabyConnect as before the moment she was born but after a few entries it told me I now had to pay $4.99+tax a month to continue to use BabyConnect . At the time I did it bec I was a very tired mom and didn’t have the time to look for another app but over $60/year for BabyConnect is really disappointing 😢

Love the app—photo book would be awesome!

I’ve been using BabyConnect for over 2 years now between my husband , nanny, and I it provides a great space to share information. We (the parents) love following along throughout our child’s day and it’s great to have everything in one place. One thing we have really loved is the pictures, I only wish there was an easier way to make photo books or sync them chronologically in our albums.

I paid for the app, now it’s a paid subscription??

I bought BabyConnect 2 years ago for my daughter and I loved using it for her! I was hesitant bc I don’t like buying apps, but my sister said “it’s the best app I’ve ever paid money for.” I tracked my nursing, her naps, activities, milestones, and doctors appointments. I love that my husband could add a feeding on for me if my phone was charging or something. I added my son in recently when he was born, and for a while it worked exactly the same. Then literally it stopped working midday and started asking for $5/mo as a subscription. I already paid for BabyConnect, and I never expected to have to keep paying for it to use it. Very disappointed. Not worth the subscription price.

I love this app

I love BabyConnect and am obsessed with tracking my pumping compared to my bottle feeding. It also helped establish what my daughters napping trends are so we could better coordinate when she should be sleeping. It’s nice that my husband can enter data and I can see what she has been up to while I am at work. I never pay for apps but am glad I bought this one. I wish I had bought it from the start rather then using a free one for months that annoyed me.

Best App Ever

2nd time mom here. With our first, we gave up on the apps and just used paper and pen that traveled with the baby. And, HOLY COW, where was BabyConnect with our first. It is a magical work of art that is a gift from god. Seriously. I’ve never written an app review before in my life, but BabyConnect is that good. I’m obsessed with it. If you’re data driven, have to keep track of these things for a long time, or have to share feeding/diapering between adults, you won’t regret using BabyConnect.

Love but please reverse the timeline!!

Love BabyConnect but for the love of Pete please reverse the timeline so that the most recent day is at the top near the times so that it's easier to see what happened at what point in the day! Very hard to track it down with your eyes or even a finger.

I'd also love to see a segment + graphic representation that tracks types of foods for once they start eating (fruit, veggie etc maybe instead of just generic "solids") but that's wishlist 🙂

Was 5 stars, now is just a money grab

I used BabyConnect every day until my daughter was 10 months old. My daughter is now 19 months old and I just had my son a week ago. Now they are saying I need to pay a subscription to use this for my son, even though when I purchased this it was supposed to be a one time purchase for full access. Now they want $5 PER MONTH to continue using something I already paid for. Everything is becoming a subscription service and all it is is a huge money grab. I would even be willing to pay a second one time fee for a second kid, but this is just way too much for what you get. Stop being so GREEDY!

New parent approved!

BabyConnect made tracking feedings, diapers, and vitamins so much easier. We loved the synch function no matter what phone we logged them from, it helped relieve confusion during nighttime feedings. If you love stats, you’ll really appreciate the ability to see how much intake your baby is having, how often they’re feeding, how many diapers they’re using on average, etc. Wonderful resource for new and all parents!

Love this app, but one wish!

I have used and am using BabyConnect with my two kiddos. I love how easy it is to use and how customizable the features are. That is so amazingly brilliant! The most powerful feature for me is the timeline and graph feature, because it shows me my child’s progress when I’m in the thick of it, and frustrated about the lack of progress.

One thing I would like to ask for, is on the graphs section, I’d love to see “nighttime sleep” and “daytime sleep” buttons in addition to “total sleep”. So yes, I’m asking for total hours slept at night, average length of sleep at night, # of sleeps at night, and the whole thing again for daytime sleep. It sounds like a lot to ask for, but with such a sophisticated software already, I’m sure it can happen! I’ll buy it again!

PS. On the days, weeks, month features on the graph feature, I don’t find it helpful to have the totals of whatever for that week or month, but would find it ever so much more meaningful it it was the average of that month’s whatever.

Almost perfect

The phone app and website (which is free and looks just fine in mobile view on Safari, by the way, so your occasional caregivers can access it that way without paying for the expensive app) are AMAZING. This tool has every single thing I could ever think to record about my child's life. It takes some practice to learn how to customize BabyConnect to fit your needs, and the data export process could use a little work (for instance, there's no way to bulk export ALL data at once), but BabyConnect has already been worth the money as I care for my 10 day-old.

One of the primary reasons I bought BabyConnect was due to the promise of Apple Watch compatibility. While it does have a Watch App, it's pretty crappy. I mean, in theory it's great, but when it does actually load (which is rare), it takes forever and is actually faster to find my phone, launch BabyConnect , and log it rather than to try to go through my Apple Watch to log anything. (And my Watch works just fine on other apps so I don't think it has anything to do with my Watch's connection.) Once this company figures out how to make the Watch app actually WORK and be a quick way to log something, I'll gladly come back and change this review to 5 stars.

Family Sharing

This is a great app for multiple caregivers for same child. I paid for BabyConnect coz I didn't like the ads limiting the screen. Each caregiver can customize their own pages. Ex- my daughter breast feeds and pumps at work. I don't need that info, so I just have "bottle". Also, I don't like BM, so I changed it to "poopy diaper". When my daughter drops my grandson off in the morning, she is usually running late and doesn't have time to give me details about what time he woke up or when he ate or pooped. She just drops him off and I can look on BabyConnect to see how the early morning went. Even when I am not keeping him, like vacations, I can still see how he is doing. Grammas miss their little ones. At first when I my daughter told me to use BabyConnect, I thought it was silly and she was just using it to spy on me or something. Then she said-Mom, I work and don't get to be with my baby. This is a way for me to be there and have contact with my baby. So, I finally got it. I can write down all the little things he does and she has a permanent record of all that to look back on. For my daughter's and grandson's sake- BabyConnect is totally worth it!

Great for twins!

I’ve been using BabyConnect with my twins for four months now and it’s great! My husband and my mom have it as well, and I love how you can synch multiple caregivers so any of us can enter information. We track feedings, diapers, medicine, my pumping, naps, and activities like bath time. I love the built-in timers, especially when I pump, and all the graphs it generates (for example, last night I was looking at the volume of milk I’ve been pumping over time to see what the trends are). It’s also incredibly useful to be able to open BabyConnect and have the time since their last feeding listed right there. My mom loves how, when she’s not with them, she can open it and see what they’re up to. I get texts in the morning with things like “woah, he went eight hours last night??” And sometimes we even have fun leaving little comments for each other (on a recent diaper change: “it was bad”). I’ve been recommending BabyConnect to all my pregnant friends, especially those with twins. It is SO worth it!

Perfect tool for mom and newborn

I loved using BabyConnect!!! It is easy to use and easy to navigate! It keeps track of data such as diaper changes (which is important to monitor with a newborn), sleeping time, feeding, etc. BabyConnect has very good options for describing what you log. For example, you can specifically choose what consistency and color baby's stools were after a BM (which is useful information for mom/dad to know).
My complaints are that there is no way to go back and see individual breakdowns of how many naps baby took, it only has total time they slept for the entire day. Same thing with diapers, no way to go back after several days to see consistency or color; only shows how many diapers of each. This is a big disappointment because you take time out to take the data and then it's kinda lost in limbo afterwards. There is a diary entry option too, but I couldn't figure out how to go back and read my entries.
The complaints are the only reason I'm not giving it a 5. Overall, I like BabyConnect a lot and I used it everyday in his first month.

Wonderful App

I’ve been using BabyConnect for 2 months now and really enjoy it. It has all sorts of tracking options and if it doesn’t have it, you can probably add it! It’s nice to see averages for her nursing when we go to the pediatrician. Thank you for BabyConnect. Definitely worth the money!

One suggestion is for the pumping side of BabyConnect . I wish there was a way to connect what I pumped to bottle feeding. I used an app 3 years ago with my son. I was able to “use” milk I pumped for a bottle. When I did this, it would be deleted from my milk supply and added to my son’s milk intake. With BabyConnect I go in and delete the entry when my daughter uses it. It’s fine but it would be awesome to show the milk as used rather than deleting it.

The other app also kept track of where my milk was stored (freezer, refrigerator, out) and warn me if the milk was close to expiring or if it was expired. Not a big deal but helped this tired mommy have one less thing to worry about.

So worth it

This is exactly the kind of app my husband and I were looking for. We like that he can check on our son’s feeding, diapers, and sleep while he’s at work. It’s also nice to check on when and how much he last ate during the night without having to wake up the other person. Plus, who can remember times and mLs in the middle of the night? Our son is just over a week old, and before purchasing BabyConnect (for only $5 each total of $10), we were manually writing down all this information. Of course BabyConnect does more. I like how I can enter the vaccine information for the pediatrician. My husband was about to create a Google Sheet for us to share. This is way better. We’ve been using BabyConnect for several days now. I love how it syncs all the data all the time. This was definitely one of the best purchases we could have made as new first time parents!

Has almost everything I need!

I'm a first-time mom and this was recommended by a friend. It has been great and keeps track of everything I need to help me answer questions from the pediatrician. A few features I would change/add though:
- I wish I could go back to specific days to see details. I don't like having to create and email myself reports to get eating/sleeping times. The timeline doesn't provide anything detailed and only marks/labels the hour every 4 hours.
- You can't edit/add entries in past days
- The option to keep track of diaper rash both in the diaper module and the food module. It could help me keep track of what foods my daughter has a reaction to.
- The option to indicate whether my daughter liked or hated a certain food. A thumbs up or thumbs down selection, for example.
- Bigger buttons for the nursing session start and stop timers on each side. Sometimes with one hand and a wiggly babe it's hard to hit that little button and I often end up hitting the number and it asks me if I want to reset the timer. A minor inconvenience but it is frustrating.
- A more detailed way to track patterns. I can see trends in the timeline but it isn't very detailed and it would be nice to have a place to see average length of naps, average bedtime and wake up time, etc.
- I wish I didn't have to choose a time for medical symptoms like a runny nose. I would just like to choose the day in full. They should also add "diaper rash" to that list and "ear infection".

Great tool for tracking all things baby, but...

My wife and I use BabyConnect extensively to track our baby’s daily goings-on, and it’s been great. Every nanny we’ve had (sadly it’s been several) we buy BabyConnect for them so that my wife can track what’s happening at home through BabyConnect . Up until today it’s worked very well, except now we have a nanny that exclusively speaks Spanish. So that’s fine I thought, BabyConnect offers a Spanish language option... except the entries she inputs show up in Spanish on my app, even though I’ve specified English as my language.

It would make more sense to translate everything possible to the language that is specified by the individual user. I understand that there’s a case where there is some custom text entered by the nanny that isn’t easily translatable, but that’s very infrequent if ever for our scenario. Typically my baby eats, sleeps, poops etc... those phrases should show up in English even though they have been entered by my nanny in Spanish.

Overall good app, but this is a clear bug that needs resolution.

Very Good, but missing some stuff

I used another app “total baby” for all 3 of my kids but unfortunately with my new phone upgrade, BabyConnect is no longer available. I picked this one because I thought it fit my type A mom needs. I must say, it’s actually a little too much. I feel like I have to press so many buttons to add a simple entry.
I can say customer service was great. I couldn’t figure out how to edit an old entry, I emailed them and received a response very quick with a solution to my problem.
-My biggest complaint: It does not allow me to manage my pumped milk supply. My other app recorded if I pumped and froze the milk and tracked when it would expire in the fridge. It also allowed me to manage my pumped milk supply as it was fed to baby. (ie pumped 8oz, baby ate 5oz of it. The remainder stayed until baby drank that milk or I froze it). As an exclusively bf/ work pumping mom this was crucial to me. I think a feature like that would enhance BabyConnect , but overall it’s a solid app.

I love it!

If you’re a mom who like to track all your baby feedings and sleeping, this is definitely for you. I used BabyConnect regularly for almost 18 months with my firstborn, 3 years ago. At the end I was just tracking his nursings since I kept it as a journal for myself later (thanks to the export option). The sleeping and nursing graphs was so helpful!! I could easily identify sleep pattern issues and put a plan in place so he could sleep longer through the night. If you’re a data and graph person like me this will save your sanity trying to figure out what is going on. A bunch of data is not really useful if you don’t have some reports and graphs to help you. Now I’m 37 weeks pregnant and ready to use it again. I never gave any app reviews but had to do it to thank BabyConnect creator for adding so many cool features that helped me so much!

A must for every parent during the first year

My husband and I have been using BabyConnect for over two years now. We like it so much that we still record the main events for our son (drop off, pick up from daycare, sleep times, and occasionally diapers and foods). During the first few months we found BabyConnect vital since we could get the answers for all the questions our son’s doctor asked us (how much did he eat, how long did he sleep, how many wet / poopy diapers, etc.). I always like looking at the overall gallons of milk I pumped, the number of hours spent pumping and nursing, etc. The only downside I can think of is that we would need to pay separately if we wanted the iPad app. We chose just to use the iPhone app and we like the instant syncing across phones.

OCD Moms/Dads

I LOVE that this let me keep all the info on my son’s feedings, doctor appointments, milestones, growth charts, even pictures... ALL in ONE place.

BabyConnect and my obsessive charting has recently saved my son from getting a repeat vaccination that he already received ... he is now 4 1/2 and while he was getting his school readiness checkup, they noticed they were missing some records for a vaccine from when he was around 18months (they had recently updated their record systems and had some files go missing). Thankfully, I was able to go back (nearly 3 years) in my records and show them that he had already had those vaccines.

I highly recommend this for any new moms/dads... or those with very small babies/children who are obsessed w/ tracking EVERYTHING.

Only Problem is Apple Watch App

The best possible baby tracking app when you’re in the newborn fog of feedings and diaper changes. I love that you customize the interface and allow multiple people to input items for your child. While BabyConnect isn’t the most fancy “looking” app, it definitely works the best. My recommendation is to start using BabyConnect right away in the hospital with baby. I wish I was using it from day 1 instead of writing down feedings/diapers for the nurses.

Only rating 4 stars solely for the fact that the Apple Watch app needs major improvements. I can NEVER get it load on my watch, and if I don’t completely close BabyConnect out after trying, it drains my watch battery. The ability to use my watch was one of the main reasons I chose this specific app.

Please fix the Apple Watch app!

I can’t imagine a much more robust app for baby management

That’s right, I said it: MANAGEMENT. Babies take a lot of management! this app was clutch for us. We only used like four of the features but they were so crucial to keeping our little nugget on track. She was underweight at first and BabyConnect helped solve that with the nursing and tracking; but then we hit sleep regressions! Some reading about sleep strategy and tracking her sleep on BabyConnect saved us once again. Now things are pretty mellow and we no longer need to track much. We still track her sleeps cause it’s an easy way to keep us both aware of how much rest she has had / still needs at any given point. BabyConnect is worth it for any parent who gets anxiety about managing their baby!
