Soon as I open SamTVRemote I get hit with a rating asking for five stars and every time I click out of it it pops up again three seconds later like how do you expect me to write your app if I haven’t even used it more than three seconds first off when I connected to the TV controls do not work properly and then I click one of the buttons five times and I get a pop-up screen saying that I have to pay $14 a month if I want “unlimited clicks” which means you can only use the controller for a couple clicks when I say a couple I mean like three or four and then you have to pay $14 a month extremely poor marketing and not to mention a waste of time personal opinion if you’re going to make an app like this there should be a free version that doesn’t bombard you with pop-up saying that you have to pay every five seconds I only got to use the remote for literally less than a minute before it said I can’t use it anymore unless I pay I do not suggest downloading this I don’t understand why the ratings are so high probably fake ratings download SamTVRemote yourself and you’ll understand why I say this unless you want to waste $14 a month on something you probably won’t use just go buy a keyboard and mouse for the same price of one month and then you’ll never have to pay again

This is not the free app that Samsung developed for use with their products. Not only is it an attempt to trick you with its name, it starts by showing slides meant to introduce its features and then if you proceed past the last slide you jump right into an unwanted $15 purchase. I cancelled quickly enough to avoid the charge, went back, and noticed a faint icon (Skip or X or something I don’t recall exactly) that allowed you to use SamTVRemote without paying. Then I hit a registration wall. Seems like a blatant scam job. Should be immediately removed from SamTVRemote Store.

If you are setting up a Samsung TV an app is not needed, even though the TV set up suggests it is and the directions provided are terrible!

Downloaded by accident while trying set up Samsung TV. Wrong app but realized it too late. App says that it will not charge my credit card but it resulted in a fraud alert. When I called my credit card provider I learned that there were several charges to my account.

I got this to replace my broken Samsung remote, but it does not work like that. Every time you open SamTVRemote to use it as a universal remote, you must first authorize it on your Samsung TV by clicking YES on your old remote. Its counter-intuitive. It’s a requirement by Samsung. I was duped into believing this would replace the physical remote. This cannot replace your remote. Would not buy again. Would not recommend. Will delete. Need refund.

I gave it 3 stars only because when I turn off the TV then on, the TV asks for approval again . If you please can fix this issue and make a stronger connection . something that is linked to tv without asking for approval every time.

You can only hit a button so many times or you have to pay for it so you can only turn your volume up five times then if you wanna turn it up more you have to pay $15 for SamTVRemote or $1.99 a week it only allows you so many “keypresses“ a day.I guess $15 isn’t too bad for a remote but I’m pretty sure there’s other free apps that you can use

I’m trying to get a refund because I purchased on accident. It says I need to create and account in settings but in settings there is no way to make an account. Please help.

It will not allow me to use it with ads (for free) and basically attempts to force me into buying SamTVRemote for over $14.
Plus, it bombards you with requests for reviews before you’ve even used SamTVRemote one time to actually control the television.
I’ve wasted enough of my time - don’t waste yours.

Dear Samsung, you’ve already got a bunch of money for the TV, why are you filling SamTVRemote with ads and then begging for the $14+ …. Just make the remote free an charge an extra $1 on the TV price upfront, it is likely that only 1 in 20 people try SamTVRemote anyway. Your reputation is at stake and the bad reviews are probably costing you more than the $14+.

SamTVRemote didnt even work for my tv and before i knew it didnt it was too late because SamTVRemote charges you before you even get the chance to find out if it even works for you 😩 very unsatisfied and upset over losing money on an app i won't be able to use

Downloaded this and while it worked as a remote it could not do everything it was supposed to and the UI looked really poor. Luckily I did not pay like some other people before realizing the real Samsung app is different. It is SmartThings with a capital T!!! Don’t pay for this awful thing.

Downloaded this thinking it was the Samsung app. Initial walkthrough tried to get me to purchase for $15. Asks to rate every 2 minutes while using. Every other tap on the screen tries to get you to spend $15 to buy. Seemed fishy for Samsung. Only after reading the other reviews I realized this is just a scam. Deleted.

I have difficulty getting SamTVRemote to show me my TV remote control settings or picture rather. I paid for the upgrade and now I'm stuck with it. ☹️

It seems like SamTVRemote could be useful but I can’t push more than 1 button before I get asked to upgrade AND add pop up.
It would be helpful if SamTVRemote was usable without forcing an upgrade. Ads I understand but not after every single key stroke.

SamTVRemote is very poor. Would have given zero stars if I could have. It has very basic functions. $15 is a raping for what it does. Every time I open that app, I have to use the TV remote to allow SamTVRemote access...I may as well just use the TV remote to control the TV.

SamTVRemote so far is great. The only thing I have too complain about is that it doesn’t include a sleep timer.

I have a 4 year-old, curved Samsung Smart TV. All my settings are correct. I wouldn’t have paid $15 because it doesn’t work, but SamTVRemote prompts you to pay BEFORE you even seeing if it will work with your TV. Really shady. Even if it DID work, that’s shady.

SamTVRemote is recommended for people who need to replace a lost remote, however in order to connect to Samsung TV you have to click “ok” on the TV to allow the connection - you need the remote for this.

It identifies and finds my tv. It didn’t let me use any of the functions. The free version doesn’t let you control anything.
The paid version doesn’t seem to function correctly with my Samsung TV.

I am unable to contact my tv, unable to log into my account, unable to reset my password.

Will not allow you to use SamTVRemote for free with your tv that you just dropped several hundred dollars on.

How can I pay $15 for something when the free version does nothing?

You can use it just as a very basic TV remote. Can’t use any smart TVs features like YouTube or Netflix

Says you get keyboard feature amongst others upon upgrade however this is untrue

SamTVRemote does not work to set up the Ambient Mode on a new Samsung TV.

It is no help. The instructions can’t be followed.
